  1. My mum loves Bingo so I humoured her. We won a lot of money....on Princess though i think I've never ever done all the things mentioned so far.
  2. Because many in Australia are coffee tragics. Wine, beer etc - good or bad depending on the winery/brewer not the country.
  3. Exactly what I was about to write 😁. Coffee is rather excellent in Adelaide too. But it's the one thing I miss when I travel overseas everywhere. Coffeee. @clairebearinaus - we are on deck 11 Millenium in April. As an Aussie, keen to hear of your experiences. And have a fab trip.
  4. I don't think that experienced cruisers who know what to receive prior to the cruise should expect everyone to have the same knowledge as others. Airlines send out pre messages to check in, but if you don't do that until you get to the airport, you still have a seat. While Celebrity has admitted the mess up I don't think their offer in any way compensates you for the result of their mistake. I'm guessing US legislation doesn't protect consumers as much as Australian legislation does as you'd receive actual cash reimbursement and not a voucher. A voucher assumes you'd cruise with them again, but why would you?
  5. Not San Juan but we are going to move two cruises when 2026 is released.
  6. Not sure about October but this year Late August and September has been real typhoon season. And hot hot hot and humid We are going in April so spring. We just touch into Golden week.
  7. I'm waiting on English relatives to work out the date. 😂. We always book balcony but don't think it's worth the upgrade to go any higher. They are huge Cunard fans. Can't get them to try celebrity. 😂
  8. We have cruised multiple times on all these lines, Princess, Cunard, RCL, Celebrity and Viking. And they are all completely different. If you want casual dining not upmarket, then it's Celebrity. We enjoy the buffets, upmarket it's Cunard, Viking has a good mix of both, their buffet is excellent but different, we didn't really enjoy their dining room food to be honest, very hit and miss on our trip. Nowadays their pricing is too high for us. Princess is probably the middle ground, never had a bad meal but not a Princess fan. We would cruise again on all of them but know they are all different. Our next cruise is on Mille for Japan next year in April, then we have a Viking River cruise in Vietnam and Cambodia (booked a long time ago). We are thinking Cunard Med in 2026 tied in with a Celebrity Med cruise. All different. All enjoyable.
  9. There are excellent Aqua cabins located forward and underneath the spa salon services. No noise and excellent. We are on deck 11 next time in Aqua and the movie noise, if any, won't bother us at all. We are somewhat more forward in that group of cabins. We love Aqua. Will always book that class. Blu is excellent.
  10. We seem to be following you. We are on the Millenium next April for a cruise around Japan and then this time next year we are completing the Vietnam Cambodia cruise tour on Viking.
  11. On our cruise the price of the sky suite is double that of Aqua. Of course that includes the premium alcohol package.
  12. On Qantas anyway if you book economy and then get upgraded to business either for free or for points or cash you don't get the extra status credits or points. You just get what you booked originally. So exactly the same scenario as with Celebrity.
  13. And doesn't apply to everyone who cruises so pointless.
  14. Have been in Aqua twice, both on the deck below the solarium. We usually book earlier and both times have selected the cabins underneath the nail salon or similar. Next time on M class we are on Deck 11 and are really looking forward to it. The movie noise for us isn't an issue. And we Love Blu. First time in Blu we didn't know they served breakfast until the last day. Doh.
  15. Same. One day I'll get lucky. Seems like the same dates every time. Always the cruise after ours.
  16. For something major and unexpected like this, then our travel Insurers would liaise with the hospital and pay the account upfront. The issue will lie if there is some doubt as to whether the insurance company is actually liable - eg pre existing condition that had not been declared etc. Our current policy is through our own health insurance company, for an annual premium of $1500 AUD and which includes all my pre existing issues, and will cover us for three overseas trips in the next year. Unlimited medical etc.
  17. People we travel with want to cruise in 2026 in the Med. Frustrated with the wait we've now booked with a different cruise line. We will tack on a Celebrity cruise if the dates and ports work.
  18. What ridiculous nonsensical behaviour. From adults. They couldn't be bothered going to the effort of sorting things out themselves and then blame you? If it wasn't so nasty it would be funny. We are doing a week long land trip spending time in Tokyo and Kyoto after reading reviews such as yours and have organised a guided tour for two days in Kyoto. We have a couple of ship tours booked (Aomori as it's the first port after Busan and it's a National Public Holiday as well for Sakura) plus Shimizu. Plus a private tour guide for Hiroshima (Peace Park and Miyajiyama) as we need to learn as much as we can here.
  19. Are US scripts even valid internationally? They wouldn't be accepted in Australia.
  20. Sorry the quote didn't work properly. A totally random one. Just selected the first cruise that left Southampton next day. First the US site. No gratituties. Second the Au site. Gratuities included. USD $959 is AUS$1424. Price of the Oz cruise includes gratuities at $1382.. This is the line on our invoices: A service charge for your dining and stateroom attendant are included in your cruise fare. A service charge for additional onboard services purchased will be incurred and reflect on your Onboard Expense Account.
  21. Not really higher price. I check on the US website and then the Aus and ours seem much much cheaper but there are of course different refund options etc.
  22. Never had issues on QM2 which is a larger ship. It was rather nice to see those disembarking and know we didn't have to be the ones packing up.
