Following your current live report. We are doing similar cruise next year and this time splurged for suite. So never dined in Luminae but have in Aqua. Are the meals in Luminae much better than MDR (I know they are different to Aqua) and if so, can you describe the style of food? Thankyou.
I've never been in Luminae, so I don't know. We've been in Aqua and therefore Blu on two cruises. We like to vary what we eat. Main dining room if something appeals, Blu, or even the buffet. It's about choice on the night. 🤷♀️
I think we booked direct too but didn't have the credit card issues. I think Expedia and booking are pretty much the same in terms of operations. I've used booking many times but always check direct as well.
That is exactly what we did and like you paid for the room overlooking the Gateway. Fabulous location and excellent room. Swimming pool was beautiful. This was exactly, to the day, 12 months ago. And it was so much cheaper than booking with Viking. Taxi to port didn't cost much at all.
Our view. The Pool. The Arcade.
Unless there is something unusual happening with that currency you may just as well wait until the trip. Currently the Yen has been falling against AUD so I'm buying that up but normally I'd not bother.
We also have ING cards that are only used for travel and both Wise and ING have excellent exchange rates and very low, if any at all, ATM fees and other fees.
I was really surprised that international Princess cruises don't have gratuities incorporated into the price. Weirdly, all Celebrity cruises booked on the AU website do, although that isn't stated during booking but appears on the Invoice received.
Life is strange that way hey? I think we were talking about Crystal cruises and a certain TA. And look at you now! Gosh. That's 10 years ago! Happy anniversary. 😁
I'm just imagining how long this thread will be when the WC return to OZ.
Happy cruising everyone lucky enough to be boarding. I can't even get my head around a World Cruise. Colour me very 💚
The timing of tickets is very much dependent on demand during the period. We are in Japan next year during Sakura, Golden Week and the opening of the World Trade Fair in Osaka. Every long distance train will be be pre booked.
We have had to carry passports at various cruise ports, eg Saudi Arabia and Egypt. Japan is the same. It isn't up to the cruise line but the country you are visiting.
