  1. I would like to take a moment to Thank You as well Pete! Enjoyed it all especially the fact that you kept it real...Well Done Sir!
  2. Oh Oh Oh...Rosie and Mac are BACK! Love me some Fire and Ice...her energy especially is so great to see!
  3. Lots of CruiseCritic folks going on this cruise together. Hope you all get a chance to meetup and share some beverages as well as stories. Wishing all of you the best cruise ever. Bon Voyage!
  4. I see that "Sugar Magnolia" liked this song....could there be some kind of connection?....Hmmmmmmmmmmmm? 😉
  5. 3 classic and totally mellow tunes...love them all! Your mood heading out should be perfect!
  6. The cruise lines really constantly monitor cruisecritic (they rarely if ever post anything but they do read them) so hopefully we have already talked to someone! 😉 They also tend to copy many things that each other is doing...so if even one would start something the others would surely follow.
  7. I understand that there could be potential security concerns but as long as groups touring are kept small and there is at least one person from the ship leading and maybe two following to prevent anyone from wandering off it seems to me it could work. Keeping the tours short (maybe no longer than say 30 to 45 minutes) should also quell some of the other concerns.
  8. That's a very novel idea! I really like it and hope some of the cruise lines are listening...could be a win win for everyone!
  9. Hopefully will still be added at some point...would be a very nice touch!
  10. Yep definitely a premium right now for Prima. Of the NCL ships that I have actually sailed on myself I would try and steer you towards either the Bliss or the Escape. Those are two vey fine ships that we really had a great time on. Being a cheapskate myself I would recommend booking any cruise on NCL inside 120 days if you can. even 60 days out or less is probably the best. The only drawback is you may not have a perfect selection of cabins at that time...but you will nearly always find reduced fares. NCL claims they don't reduce fares anymore during that time...but they do. 😉
  11. @KmomChicago Aubrey gave you a very good explanation regarding vibe differences between Royal and NCL Something I have experienced regarding the feelings on sailing both lines. NCL both passengers and crew alike know how to have fun and interact with each other. For some reason on Royal the mood is much more somber (I don't know why as their ships are quite spectacular) Bottom line is NCL cruises are more fun and people are genuinely happy being on them.
  12. Bermuda has a lot to offer actually and much of it depends on what you like doing. Just a couple things come to mind: Crystal and Fantasy Caves https://caves.bm/ Horseshoe Bay https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g147261-d147919-Reviews-Horseshoe_Bay_Beach-Southampton_Parish_Bermuda.html Tobacco Bay https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g147256-d147471-Reviews-Tobacco_Bay-St_George_St_George_s_Parish_Bermuda.html St. Geoge's https://www.gotobermuda.com/our-island/east-end Swizzle Inn https://www.swizzleinn.com/ Hamilton https://www.bermuda-attractions.com/bermuda2_00001d.htm Many Many More...just takes a little research. Bermuda has ended up being one of our "happy places" and we never tire of going.
  13. I feel your pain..we struggled over that same question before we ended up deciding on doing the April 30th cruise. We finally concluded that going late April (really first week in May.) would have a high probability of weather at least being very mild to warm (pleasant really) but probably not hot and possibly water being too cold for bathing. Another deciding factor on that date for us is that schools mostly are not out yet so the families going might be less. (Nothing wrong with families but I am way more than old enough to appreciate fewer kids running around) Check this out as a quick reference: https://travel.usnews.com/Bermuda/When_To_Visit/ Here's a list of the 2023 NYC to Bermuda cruises in March through May:
  14. You may very well be right about that..I know I wasn't alone in thinking that reservations might be needed for Syd's but I also don't have a problem admitting if I was wrong. Still seems like NCL has messed up the design and use of some of these venues. Their size is not conducive to stage shows so maybe they will end up having more of them in the theater.
  15. I can see that happening...BUT....NCL will absolutely need to do a line count and after some pre-determined number let those in line past that number know that they will be SRO or worse. To allow people to stand in line for approx. an hour and to find out only when the door opens that they can't get in will make for some very unhappy people. That should be something very easy to implement.
  16. That is good to know...as long as the 100 people or so waiting in line to get in can also get a seat there shouldn't be any problem.
  17. It may not have been from Bird's check off list...but I am certain that someone in one of the various reviews mentioned needing reservations for Rumours in Syd's. 🤔
  18. The question regarding reservations and Haven access to Syd's has been nothing short of a cluster. I don't believe that any one person has properly explained (and may not even understand) what the ongoing process will be for making any reservations for entertainment either today or going forward. Here is my personal summary as to where my anger and concern is coming from based on many responses to this. 1. Reservations for *all* shows can be made immediately upon boarding and there may or may not be any availability to do so. (To me this is totally different than other ship classes that have venues similar to Syd's like the Cavern Club where reservations were never made...people would simply lineup an hour or so before the show in order to get in) 2. Haven guests could be escorted into Syd's before anyone else through a back door and may or may not even need a reservation. (This is where much of the anger is coming from) 3. Making any reservations for Syd's may even be a temporary thing. 4. Much of the frustration can be (and probably will be) alleviated by doing shows in the theater as it becomes more readily available to layout schedules. 5. A lot of this is probably due to the newness of the ship and trying to figure some of it out as they go. My summation anyways and I am now at least a little bit hopeful that I will be able to get into Syd's (or the theater) on a future cruise on Prima. 😉
