  1. It is nice to see some of these threads come back! 9/25/22 Explorer Of The Seas Miami 6 Balcony $316 pp with 932.00 for 2 with taxes and fees. $249pp with 793 for 2 with taxes and fees. Senior rate
  2. Our 1 genie was positve on our trip 2 weeks ago, I also believe notconfirmed our other genie also had positive. My son was positive the following Tuesday. Not bad symptoms but still positive. IMHO they sold to a much higher capacity making venues crowded and very close contact all over the ship, than my previous 7 since covid restart.
  3. I have been on multiple cruises since the restart. I just got back from Alaska in a Star Class room. Although the cruise was nice and we enjoyed ourselves, I will not be booking any further cruises for a while for the following reasons: 1. Even though masked etc, we had a last minute change due to our genie being "unfit" for duty, then our second genie had covid which made us be contract traced to get tested. My son ended up with Covid the day after we got back. I knew the risks going in, but its not until you are faced with the realities that Covid sets in. We are all vax and boosted so he didnt have any major issues. 2. Another Covid issue, the cd and activities manager were "quarantining due to protocols". Some of the other activities staff were also not around. Our main headliner Goddess was unable to perform, no reason stated. Shows a nd other venues were packed due to other cancellations. 3. Even though we had Star Class, we did go to the Windjammer as Quantum was limited on specility resturants. There was little variety for lunch every day, it was the same thing. Did not do dinner, so i cant comment on that. 4. They were out of basic liquor items such as a few wines, few rums. 5. Guest services lines were very long every time I walked past, except in the middle of the port days. 6. The staff although great were exhausted due to covering for others and longer than normal contracts, as they cannot get staff to the ships. Is this royals fault. Not at all. The only thing I can blame Royal for and not booking anymore sailings is the ships are over a capacity that makes cruising what it was pre pandemic.
  4. We were on Quantum last week. Ship full capacity, Goddess cancelled, Starwater cancelled one night because of the power failure/small engine fire, cruise director and activities manager "unfit for duty' due to protocols, first genie "unfit for duty", second genie positive for covid, long lines for ice cream, glacier viewing cancelled due to large icebergs, long lines at guest services throughout the voyage with minimal guest staff reps.
  5. Please do! thank you. We board on Monday and my daughter is using this service. She needs a rapid because she is still showing positive on a naat/pcr although she is 14 days from inital. I dont want to get to the cruise and have them not accept it and do a pcr at the port.
  6. Just a thought, but they are not a lab, just a telehealth service. You are basically the lab.
  7. you are correct, however, The facility she went to only ran the rapid test and not the PCR so she doesn't have the PCR test which is what she needs for aLetter of Recovery.
  8. Since you took it at CVS you should be fine. Make sure you print out your results to take with your letter of recovery in case they ask.
  9. Yes, the positive test has to be 11 -90 days from embarkation. If you are still testing positive next week, you can get a letter of recovery based on your original test as long as it was a pcr or pcr/naat test.
  10. Just curious where you got your 10 days, not arguing just hoping that it is something different that I saw that was saying that said up to 14 days you can still test positive on Rapid. My personal experience was 8 days, but my daughter had it last week and hoping Day 10 will be the golden day.
  11. Missed it by 2 days. Drat! I looked into it when you posted about the fb message. What was your time line from testing positive to negative.
  12. Don't have an answer for you, but when testing on June 10th, make sure you get a Rapid Antigen and not the Naat, or Binax, or PCR as those can show covid even if not contagious, if you test negative you dont need the letter of recovery. Running into this with my daughter, so fingers crossed for a Negative test on Friday.
  13. Thank you! We are getting on June 6th! This is going to make me even more excited.
  14. I think the NAAT is a type of pcr, based on the cdc, so I think it would work. Nucleic Acid Amplification Tests (NAATs) | CDC
  15. Where did you see this? So I can document if I need it. thanks I can't see the question on Facebook
  16. If you answer yes, then CVS defaults to a different test, just select no and they should showup. Also, you have to go to the clinic now, I would check Walgreens, much easier!
  17. What's weird is that the cdc travel requirement for entering the US allows either test for a letter of recovery.
  18. Exactly. June 24rd PCR Test, Letter of REcvorery June 4th (12 days counting 24th). CDC Letter of Recovery is 10 days from the test. We may try to do it on Sunday.
  19. Here is what I asked my doctor but they ended up not doing it. Long story Official letterhead from a healthcare provider, public health official or telehealth provider June 3, 2022 To whom it may concern, The (patient name, address phone number) has fully recovered from COVID-19. She finished her isolation on June 3rd, 2022 and shows no symptoms of COVID-19. PCR test confirmed at Peachtree Immediate Care collected on Tuesday, May 24, 2022. CLIA Lab Number: or Certification Number, the address of the lab: the date the test was taken, type of test, and your positive result. She is fit to travel Sincerely, DR
  20. Yes, My daughter got a pcr test on Tuesday (symptoms started on Monday), still waiting for results, but rapid tests were positive. So we are good there. Our doctor will not sign a letter without doing another pcr test that is negative. WHAT?????? The whole reason for the letter is in case she tests positive. I think she will test negative by next week, we leave on Monday June 6th. if not we will pursue the letter of recovery on Saturday. It my last lift and shift for a Star Class, I do not want to miss it!
  21. With a pcr test, There are some online "Doctors" that will do a telehealth visit and write the required documentaion. I also asked at the Walgreens urgent care and they said they may write one depending on the nurse working. Check the cdc website as if it is for international travel not cruising then a documented viral test should work. My daugher used the Health Department letter for her recent travel non cruise. Requirement for Proof of Negative COVID-19 Test or Documentation of Recovery from COVID-19 | CDC What You Need to Know If you plan to travel internationally, you will need to get a COVID-19 viral test (regardless of vaccination status or citizenship) no more than 1 day before you travel by air into the United States. You must show your negative result to the airline before you board your flight. If you recently recovered from COVID-19, you may instead travel with documentation of recovery from COVID-19 (i.e., your positive COVID-19 viral test result on a sample taken no more than 90 days before the flight’s departure from a foreign country and a letter from a licensed healthcare provider or a public health official stating that you were cleared to travel). Viral Test Types Laboratory and Rapid Point-of-Care tests are performed in Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)-certified facilities to ensure quality of testing. Laboratory tests can take days to complete and include RT-“PCR” tests and other types of nucleic acid amplification tests (NAATs). Rapid Point-of-Care tests can be performed in minutes and can include antigen tests, some NAATs, and other tests. Self-Tests are rapid tests that can be taken at home or anywhere as long as the instructions are followed.
