  1. My Mrs got a text weeks ago inviting her to get jabbed ,as for me nowt zilch even though I qualify due to my health issues. I ended up ringing them up and have now had my invite sent. They had no idea why it had been failed to be sent out. Maybe their IT system thought I was far too young 🙃
  2. I bet my jeans from Cleethorpes market were just as good .My mother had a hoover from USA but auntie Vera had a Bex Bissel sweeper. Her next door neighbour just used a dustpan and brush and said "her house was the best kept swept" As for me I kept out of it , seems a bit daft making sweeping statements , which most folk do.
  3. We used to jump on a jet at Doncaster airport to Dublin for a £1 ,it cost more on our local bus going into town . Not sure who to blame so the Americans will do 🤣
  4. Retirement ! So much to look forward to 🙃 Hope your girly flu gets better. In the meantime a few retirement thoughts for you to ponder .😁
  5. Further up the front the better with a nice window view ,they made me give my seat up all because the captain wanted to fly the plane from there .🙃 Glad you and Mega got your seats you wanted 🙂
  6. If you smell gas, call the National Gas Emergency Service immediately on 0800 111 999 Take care not chances better safe than sorry Dave better a false alarm than ..😢
  7. Things are forever changing ,was only talking with Mrs K about how as kids we used to get cold foggy frosty mornings towards Christmas and snow for the New Year. Now days, seems more chance being March /April. This planet warming has been going for some years ,only to look at Christmas cards showing scenes of the river Thames (1870's ?) where folks held markets and fairs on it's frozen surface . Not much chance of that in todays world . ,We have 15.c overcast promising to be 22.c as the day goes on . Take care and have a good day everyone 🙂
  8. Not sure but when one gets through to your turn close the others off . On our last cruise I needed to ask a question before booking ,when I got through the Lady said " whilst I'm here I can book your holiday for you " Great says I "can we have cabin xyz ? " Sorry that cabin has been booked !! I was gutted we wanted that cabin and it was there when I did the dummy booking only five minutes ago and it's showing as ours . The woman asked us to click onto another cabin and as we did she said "great the cabin is now available and yours. I never knew it could do that , hope you get through soon ish when you try .
  9. I really hope you get your treatment approved and get back to cruising Harry. We chose the Queen Victoria as only carries just over 2k . She has all the things you have come to love ,like turn down service ,a really decent room service and we had speakers such as a former Red arrows pilot during the day . Think Selbourne has used this ship as well and liked her . Our choice was a p&O ship at the time ,all we would have saved in fare comparison was £25 each in total . I like P&O but have to say the little extra was money well spent . Possibly a ship for you to consider ? Take care and hope you get back to sailing soon .🙂
  10. Spot on ,if someone decides on a city break and someone else decides on a country break, who is deemed to be posh and be of class? A cruise ship or holiday is only as good as your expectations ,if you want more pay more and move on ,we have all been there at sometime in our holiday years . No right or wrongs just our choices .
  11. I dunno John at a loss with that one . How come some ships have belly flop contests and P&O only have bingo, so many questions .🤔
  12. I think I get why P&O have people leaving their ships now? What is a cruise ship if you aint got a plastic giraffe half way around a jogging track 🤔
  13. All this talk of cutting down on food has inspired me to do the same. Hence we ordered a kiddie meal from our chippy. Chips, sausage, mushy peas with a drizzle of Curry sauce. All helped down with a slice of bread and a hot mug of tea. Was surprised how much you get with kiddies meal. Put it out onto a plate so Mega gets a good view 😊
  14. Love the prom decks on the smaller and some medium ships ,the sea is so close, you feel you could almost touch it. I guess that feeling is lost on the mega ships peering down through the perspex .
  15. If we think about it ,that could be the very reason the shops are decked out with festive wares . A week or so before was great when we all were on weekly pay packets . I like this time of year as it's filled with expectation . No sooner does one door close and another one opens ., but that's enough about me with the advent calendars 🙃
  16. He isn't . His proper job is a chippy in Scunthorpe ,which he doesn't like and he wants out, he feels ..🎵 He's Cod In A Trap 🎵 🤣
  17. Looks like your having a great time .Nice food and nice tribute bands . The Drifters were popular in clubland , problem was which one did you go to see as there were loads of drifters . I once watched a UB40 tribute band called WD40. They were a bit rusty at first, but got better as the evening went on.🙃
  18. Could be wrong but as we were talking about birds (in Barnsley ) Think Mega was saying they had a Parrots perch ? 🙃
  19. Some venue options regardless of ship size are not always used but we research our options before booking any ship .Last ship we used only carries just over 2K Pax . We had options of things like rib eye steak in the buffet or even a nice meal for two served on our balcony , without putting our hands in our pocket . Relaxing and personal just what we wanted . As another poster wisely posted .." you choose the ship that meets your needs and desires, whether that ends up being big or small ..As long as you personally are happy with your choice." That surely goes for anyone . Forget others choice, enjoy your cruise.
  20. In my single youth days ,my mate used to say lets go to some of the Barnsley night clubs as in his words " A lot of nice birds in there " 🙃
  21. Too true Avril, think Iv'e said this before ,we would go to the top of the market , think they were called Oldfieilds ? Where we went for a deep pudding bowl with a proper steak pie submerged in mushy peas and a big mug of tea .Happy days ! As you say our towns had some great buildings flattened to make way for concrete cubes that are now getting pulled down. Shame really .
  22. We bought those plastic sleeves with the wire toggle fastener, they kept the labels dry and secure . We also printed spare labels and carried a spare sleeve in our hand luggage, should any mishaps happen .
  23. I'm sure Babyboy will do well in his new life in Milan .Although his life had a mishap he had you and your wife. gave him the love and care he needed .Your photo of you laid out on the settee with him sleeping at your feet ,says it all really . Love and comfort ,he wanted and found in your two ..Well done guys 🙂
