  1. Similar to clothing irons they are considered a safety hazard. Why not just order a pot of hot water from room service (available 24 hrs) or if you have a cabin with butler request it be delivered? The concierge lounge also has hot water available throughout the day. You will need a suite or concierge level cabin to get it quickly or on demand. The four cat upgrade sale is still going onā€¦Enjoy your trip!
  2. @cruisemom42 There were string quartets on our Riviera and Regatta cruises so I would say yes.
  3. I am disappointed with the loss of a walk in closet. The new set up seems awkward when two people are accessing the closets at once. It reminds me of a dorm room. I know itā€™s off topic but I thought you were allowed to bring a bottle of the Oceania suites and above suites selected cabin wines to dinner without a corkage fee. This ship looks beautiful thank you for sharing!
  4. I look for CC reviews of Vista and they donā€™t have it listed under O ships. ?
  5. @Ride-The-Waves I am a senior and I was just responding to a joke. I apologize if I offended you. Unfortunately there is excessive alcohol consumption on cruises but there are also walkers and scooters. As Forrest Gump said ā€œlife is like a box of chocolates you never know what youā€™re gonna getā€ā€¦My husband and I generally keep to ourselves on cruises. We have cruised on many lines and have had good and not so good experiences with the all of the lines. We have found wonderful people and rude/obnoxious people on all trips. You said you found O passengers critical of other passengers but werenā€™t you making a criticism of the passengers with the drinks? I would just encourage you to keep an open mind and ask to be moved to another table next time. Keep reading the forums as I think you will find most experiences are never perfect but enjoyable non the less.
  6. Regarding the port fees/government taxesā€¦I would think the cruise lines would consider the weather ā€œan act of Godā€ whereas a mechanical issue with the ship would be on the line to refund. The fine print in contracts pretty much tell you the cruise line can cancel and change anything they want when they want and refunds are at their discretion.
  7. @Flatbush FlyerIm still seeing ads for it just being called an upgrade saleā€¦anyway just thought they could look into it.
  8. Presently O is having a four category upgrade promotion depending on the sailing I believe until the end of June. There are only a few Vista sailings included though.
  9. @swoodwor1you may want to go to the YouTube videos of Vista. There are tours of the whole ship and cabins.
  10. I personally donā€™t care for the blue booklet but I do want my port luggage tags
  11. @Harters yes. Call O or your TA however you booked.
  12. @LHT28 unless she sees the upside down šŸon the doorā€¦. I am a big prude and my friends took delight in telling me itā€™s meaning!
  13. I have found the best views of the cabins on YouTube. Travel agents show videos of them. The PH on Vista no longer has a walk in closet rather two freestanding types opposite each otherā€¦but they do have a bigger bathroom and shower. Just put Oceania Vista PH (or other category) tour YouTube. You sometimes have to get past a travel agents self promotion but IMO itā€™s worth the tour.
  14. TripAdvisor is a great place to find information about your port and under ā€œthings to doā€ they list popular excursions with traveler reviews.

  16. Flatbush Flyer I am a customer. I am a passenger. I should be able to disembark when I want when in port just as other passengers do. Time is valuable when only there for a few hours.
  17. Thatā€™s why I asked! Thank you everyone!
  18. Pinotlover thankyou. So you are allowed to go out with the excursion staff? How do you find out what time they do that? Does destination services tell you or you just show up at port arrival time? We are early birds no problem with that.
  19. We have been on other lines who alternate fairly. I donā€™t know how you take it into account when you have no idea when they will let you tender off. Making all other passengers wait until all the O excursions are out is ridiculous. There were tender boats waiting for an hour one day. Also on our trip to Alaska they never even announced when you could leave the ship or what floor to go to. I was hopeful someone else might have had experience with destination services to help with this. We hope this isnā€™t the case on our Vista cruise or we will most definitely choose other lines in the future. I donā€™t think of this as fair or unfair just inconsiderate of passengers needs.
  20. On our last two Oceania cruises the ships gave tickets to Oceania excursion passengers first. We sometimes book our own excursions and found this very irritating. Is there a way to request tendering fairly?
  21. In this day and age I would recommend asking the staff to request the people quiet down rather than a direct request. (Especially where alcohol consumption is involved) Sorry you had that experience!
