  1. Personally I wouldn’t wait for it to almost expire before getting it straightened out. Is the TA remembering to do this or do you have to mark it on your calendar? It’s something O can answer right now.
  2. If you use a travel agent shouldn’t they be answering your questions and getting it booked properly? Yes Prestige upgrade is $30. pp per day. It is easy to go to your booking and add/purchase the package.
  3. They will accommodate you and there are plenty of wines that pair well with vegetarian dishes. Advanced notice is key. The dinners are enormous so you could also pass on a dish and still get quite full.
  4. @the more ports the better I would contact O directly to verify rather then guessing and relying on hearsay or if you use a third party TA they must contact for you. Also if you have concerns about the financial stability of a cruise company I strongly recommend travel insurance (not the cruise lines insurance).
  5. If you want an extension you definitely need to contact them.
  6. @ak1004I would call the O booking number found on their website and get a O agent. You will need your TA to do this as a go between if you booked with one originally. Take a look at the BBB page as FCC’s have become complicated.
  7. @ak1004I suggest you contact O directly and get it in writing.
  8. @SujormikThat would be the desk person not the waiters. Right now some people went for the simply more included beverages but some have not…In a perfect world we all get to drink everything everywhere. Even the premier package doesn’t cover everything. Those waiters have to swipe cards and the liquor usage is monitored/accounted for especially expensive pours and bottles.
  9. @SujormikHow is it that they know your room number and drink package? Maybe after several days they recognize you but they still need you to sign off.
  10. @SthrngaryI don’t think it’s a stupid question at all. The more you know the better suppose you got a new employee who might automatically add the 20% ouch! I think some of these questions are adding to the fun anticipation of the trip!
  11. When you book you have to let them know. Most lost money has been cruise excursions but I do book them too once in awhile.
  12. @jonthomasmy experience with private tours have been wonderful with time changes when they know you are coming in on a cruise ship. They usually refund with 24 hour notice as well.
  13. Why aren’t the TAs taking care of this?!
  14. @oskidunkeryou can go to cruisemapper.com put in month and name of port it has times.
  15. These people work LONG hours with little time off away from their families. If I receive excellent service with a smile I give an envelope with an extra tip. (Also with a smile back)
  16. @ORV an expensive country to live in where people are the happiest…maybe US could learn a few things.
  17. Some people have family situations that need to be connected to technology even while on vacation…and yes even jobs that may require you be available…the one person at a time was archaic.
  18. @FlyerTalkeryes then you need to pay for transportation to those airports and will need to pay for a new flight IF one is available. What makes you think people aren’t capable of trying to get out of a flight mess? There are shortages of air traffic controllers as well as pilots. Airlines have pretty much control over certain routes. Not complaining just facts flying is a NIGHTMARE don’t get me started on how ridiculous the seating is soon they will be like buses or subways stand holding a handle…
  19. May also look into maritime laws as far as booking directly with the line.
  20. @ak1004Read plaintiff magazine when vacations lead to lawsuits.
  21. @Woofaactually you are only allowed to bring six bottles and it is supposed to be wine. If you drink outside your cabin there is a $25. Corkage fee. If you bring alcohol from ports the cruise is supposed to hold it for you. Yes people go around these policies but it’s good to know the real deal which is in the contract.
  22. I don’t need a TA for the loyalty program. I don’t use TAs for legal reasons.
  23. The simply more beverage package is for lunch and dinner wine beer champagne…(no mixed drinks). If you want a cocktail some other time you pay for it unless you pay more for the prestige package.
  24. @MarkWiltonMwell now they won’t need to if they are included… personally I don’t add third parties to my travels for legal reasons.
