  1. @Basor some people do defend O no matter what. I call them O ambassadors not cheerleaders but it’s not fair to dismiss honest bad experiences either that’s all I’m saying.
  2. I don’t consider honest reviews especially from those that have sailed O many times victims. Many list the good and the bad. I don’t have bad luck I have had good experiences as well. Once again why are people who do have a bad experience somehow not allowed to express legitimate experiences? Flight complaints I take with a grain of salt but cold food, lack of service, cutting port times, etc. is quite concerning.

Not sure why some people will get a visit from the head pastry chef over a bad scone (my goodness he would be busy with all the cookie complaints) and why some people get a great response while others like me are not contacted or get the platitudes. I just feel that negating others experiences is for lack of better phrase is defending the indefensible. Their experience is their experience and should not be disregarded. We were on the Regatta in Alaska and the Captain or others didn’t announce arrivals, when cleared to go aboard or what floor to use to get off. We were not the only passengers frustrated…but the shrugs and dismissals when addressing it on board just added insult to injury.

  5. All of these lines are getting terrible reviews on CC. My husband and I will be on the Vista at the end of the year but going forward we are going back to land trips. Cruising in general isn’t what it used to be.
  6. I guess I wasn’t clear, they were told (very politely least I be accused of being tactless) and I do not whine simply sharing my experiences. Glad yours were better so obviously that’s why you defend, but please don’t assume all situations are addressed as yours were.

  10. @LHT28They don’t listen on board face to face…you think there’s a group people on that ship going through the surveys?!

  12. I don’t know why people are making fun of those leaving O. The cruises will cost quite a bit “more” and if that is the bottom line (cost) people will move up to luxury all inclusive or down to lines with add on or not choices. I think itineraries, size of ship, then clientele on ships will still influence choices. When a line disappoints people leave.
  13. @pinotlover A book is pretty quiet however phones are sometimes quite noisy as are loud voices from group tables.
  14. I find Tripadvisor also a good guide for tours and transportation.

Although I appreciate the need for everyone to lower expectations and recognize turnover maybe the cruise lines need to pay more and give benefits etc. Some of these lines are well known for being terrible to work for. (TERRIBLE) Some report not getting paid if they are sick so then they don’t want to report being sick norovirus anyone? Yes they all suffered after Covid but basic services and business practices should still be in place if they expect to recover.
  18. @janecambridgeDid you have an idea of the price before? We are all trying to figure out how much more the inclusive fares cost compared to pre simply more. Seems odd they are competing with Regent I wonder if a previous poster was correct they will merge O with Regent?
  19. Personally I like the higher levels. (Nicer views from your balcony) You will only be one level up from the lounge. The dotted lines are not the veranda lines. Your cabin should be quiet as you are not under a busy place. Lovely ship!

  21. @AMHuntFerryI was referring to an earlier post by @LHT28 where it is stated read the fine print that you cancel one month prior to final payment no penalty. I am fully aware of my booking dates and penalties.
  22. I recommend everyone check with their credit cards, they used to provide this coverage not anymore.
  23. @LHT28are you saying that if I cancel one month before final payment I will not get penalized? Where is that fine print?
