Yes that is pretty much $400. For beverage pkg. and $400. For excursions. You may still bring alcohol on board and you didn’t mention if you buy any O excursions. I am sure there will still be sales as all cruise lines do this to fill cabins. This change has been much discussed and analyzed on this forum. It still gets down to itineraries, dates, size of ship etc. as well as price. You may find a similar itinerary on another line but suppose it’s a giant ship and you prefer smaller? I found my next cruise on Vista with Simply More an increase but my husband drinks and we found the excursions similar in price to private so it worked out. I think we will all do the usual math in the future. I am envious of your travels looks like you are able to do one a month! Enjoy your journeys!

Let’s face it flying ANYWHERE is a nightmare now. Sometimes it takes a whole day for what should be a few hour trip within the US.

Now if only they would get rid of fake “brochure” rates.

@shepherd reallyhow is trivia fun when people cheat (I.e. using phones)? maybe you haven’t experienced this but we have and stopped going to it.

Also Seabourn and Azamara have been sold. Many changes in a fluctuating business.

@JKrisesomeone on an earlier thread thought Regents licensing was expiring and therefore O and Regent would become one. Certainly V can’t be happy.

We don’t like huge ships and prefer new ships but we look at itinerary first, dates, prices and being a bit older now certain lines fit the bill differently then when we were younger. Notice lines…not married to one brand and we have had great experiences and not so great on all our cruise travels. Keep your options open as I said earlier variety is the spice of life.

@HlitnerTrust me we do the comparisons certain excursions are bus loads some like small boats, catamarans etc are passenger limited. We also look at how many ships are in port as even private tours can be a nightmare. Happy travels!

My understanding is you can use the credits for any excursions you do pay for amounts that go over your credits. They are not used as cash credit. Use it or lose it. “Alcoholic” beverages does not include hard liquor. Shockingly to me Simply More is beneficial on my next cruise as my husband will drink wine and beer and some excursions are priced similarly to private ones. 🤷🏻‍♀️

So far my cruise is not showing the simply more option. The cruise prices go up quarterly anyway.

@ Cluso if you booked a few weeks ago your fare should not increase unless you want the new program. The fares listed on your invoice is what your fare is.

@Nashnayou are happy your cruise went up or that you booked before it went up? I have a cruise booked for December that went up $300. Pp a few weeks ago for new bookings. Waiting to see what the new simply more cost will be, especially for those booking with the already increased fares.

@LHT28Many people cruise different lines. Viking is just like O IMO the ships are beautiful the food and service is equivalent people are just not happy with the pay a year in advance business. “Itinerary” is the same as what location is when buying a house.

@ak1004you skipped the useless excursions that I don’t want, and the alcohol I don’t drink. What’s opaque about making me pay for things I don’t want?
