How was it with two ships? Was it crowded?

It was Sunday. The schedule only shows one ship but there were definitely two. I should have thought to use marinetraffic.com. That would have showed me.

We had a really nice view of Coco Cay on Sunday as we went by on Carnival Freedom. Does anyone know which ships were in port? I think one was Independence of the Seas and the other looks similar in size. You can see the water park and balloon ride too.

I knew it was there before, I just didn't know what its purpose was. I'll pay more attention to it now that it's so much more obvious.

What is the part sticking up in the middle? Is that a light?

Even on a 4-day cruise, I can't justify spending $60 a day per person. No way would it be worth it for a 12-day port intensive cruise. Pay as you go and forget the package.

Thanks! Carnival is still acting like the June 11 sailing is going to take place so we might have a chance. We won't be too disappointed if they cancel us and give us a free cruise. It would just be nice to know one way or the other because we can't book anything else until we know.

What would you say the chances are that it will be ready by June 16? Don't worry, I won't hold you to it. 🙂 Just curious how long you would expect the work you just described to take.

Did you end up renting the Hobie Cat? How was it?

Do you use masks and snorkels for this excursion or is it shallow water only? I was wondering if we should bring our own masks. Do you have any pictures you can share?

Does anyone know when this photo was taken? It doesn't look like they've done much yet. We're supposed to cruise June 16 and this doesn't make me feel warm and fuzzy about it being ready.

So you really could have more than 15 drinks a day? The paid drinks don't count towards the 15 if you pay for them up front? Very strange policy.

Thanks. There's no way I could drink anything close to 15 drinks in a day. 🙂 I thought I remembered people talking about paying for drinks after hitting the limit, but it's been a few years since we've been on Carnival.

You can't even pay for a drink after 15? Is that something new or has it always been that way?

Does Bonsai Sushi Express have the same menu as Bonsai Sushi? Or is it more limited? We'll be on Freedom in a few weeks (maybe) and I thought I might try it for lunch one day.

Where are you hearing the rumors? I haven't seen many updates on the ship or from the passengers.

I think you are right that they will try to get Freedom back in service as soon as possible. They probably started working on her before she even got to Freeport. We're booked on the June 16 cruise and my concern is that the cruise won't be cancelled but parts of the ship will be blocked off and we'll have shortened time in the ports because we'll be cruising on half the engines. Personally, I'd rather they just go ahead and cancel us now. I wonder when we'll get an update on the damage and repair timeline.

I read the drink package doesn't cover drinks at Princess Cays. Do you need cash or can you charge them on your sail card?
