  1. VIrgin really isn't competing with Royal, Carnival or NCL, its a completely different demographic. Virgin obviously isn't concerned about posting a rock bottom fare to their website to entice bookings.
  2. Will never happen, not on USA embarkation at least. It took legislative action to force the airlines into pricing transparency, I can't imagine them getting involved in this.
  3. I did not pay the old rate, I surely will not be paying the new rate.
  4. All that nonsense to “solve” a problem that really does not exist. How many bags offloaded from cruise ships monthly? How many go home with the wrong person? The % is infinitesimal.
  5. And if the steward is still performing the same number of “services per day” then it absolutely doesn’t matter.
  6. It is irrelevant because a ship NEVER sails at double occupancy, never ever ever. Regardless of how many people are onboard the number of rooms to clean remains the same. I am sorry, but your insinuation that the amount of passengers on board has an affect on the housekeeping is just silly. The number of crew members cleaning has not changed dramatically. They may be assigned to other areas than staterooms, but the staff is there
  7. Find me a cruise ship that considers double occupancy to be full occupancy. The assessment of passengers on board is incorrect and irrelevant
  8. Insurance would never invoice the offending party. They would expect that one pays to have their luggage returned, then the policy holder submit receipts for possible reimbursement
  9. I've yet to experience British night, I think I may have the opportunity in March on my Odyssey 8 day
  10. Another option; the one I use, is a passport card that expires on a different cycle than my passport book. It’s nice to have while the book is out for renewal.
  11. Unnecessary work; the OP is perfectly fine with their current passport.
  12. Never said they can not accept them; I am saying their position and salary precludes them from being included in the discussion; as it pertains to luggage handling at the cruise terminal-unless highly personalized duties are performed. Moving my bag from the sidewalk to a luggage cart is the minimum expected of them, and doesn’t get a tip.
  13. For the purposes of this discussion, the distinction is moot. Union labor is not a tipped position
  14. For $30 online you can get a slipcover for your bag made with a giant headshot. I’ve not done it, but my SIL has. Pretty funny, and no way anytime would mistake his bag!
  15. This must be one of the most ridiculous statements o have seen on here in quite some time (and that is really saying something) BTW the tipping “policy” at Port Canaveral is “no tipping requires” it is posted on GIANT signs all over the place.
  16. Delivering bags to your car is certainly a tip worthy action; even for me
  17. Umm according to every economist in the capitalist world. Maybe they do things differently in Canada
  18. LOTS of people pay their gratuities at the time of booking; I agree, that makes no sense
