  1. Probably about right, point being, my fees have already paid for the porter’s services.
  2. It’s easy to imagine that there were no porters. Your port fees would go down; that is how these guys get paid.
  3. Since you are booked with a Travel Agent, Royal will not deal with you directly (at least they will not on bookings I have ever made) Unfortunately, I have never heard many good things about Priceline o their service; I wish you luck and safety.
  4. last year bad weather made it impossible for me to secure a flight to my embarkation point. Royal Caribbean did not give any considerations (nor were they obligated to). My insurance company handled it. EVERY travel insurance policy I have ever had contains a "political unrest" clause.
  5. I believe the OP lives in the Israeli region, and can not / does not want to, leave the country to come to the US for embarkation
  6. No, it’s most people’s opinion. There is a difference between “the bar” and “the lounge”
  7. I don't need to check again. The bar is for drinking and adult conversation.
  8. Thank You New York/New Jersey is a massive union hub
  9. People don’t need a corporation to define for them appropriate behavior and decorum for children. Children have no business sitting AT the bar, and I have no problem asking the “parents” to remove them.
  10. I suppose the difference between myself and others is, I won't accept no for an answer. As stated earlier, however, I have never been told no, be it the 3rd bed issue, or a second visit to fill the ice bucket, or deliver clean towels.
  11. Luck of the draw, for sure, not dependent on a tip at all.
  12. But are still union, with all the benefits that go with it. NOT GETTING TIPPED by me
  13. Over 50 cruises, on many lines, from many ports; I have NEVER had a wayward bag
  14. BUT they are being paid UNION wages and benefits, and are NOT a tipped position (at least as far as I am concerned) Anyone that gets a collectively bargained salary, health and dental benefits, paid vacation, and a pension; does not get a tip from me
  15. https://www.cruisehive.com/royal-caribbean-cuts-back-on-housekeeping-service/95567 not a policy, but a company quote
  16. No, I don’t have either. It was part of the announcement when the policy changed. I have never had this request denied in 3 cruises since the change.
  17. We received our room assignment for a guaranteed balcony 2 weeks ago. The cruise is mid January 2024
  18. I would have called the Hotel Director. Royal’s own policy statement says they will perform this service.
  19. I assumed so as well, just didn’t have the experience. At most, if not all, of the major ports in the US, you can’t step foot on the docks without a union card. It doesn’t matter if you are a crane operator, truck driver, or janitor.
  20. All in Florida and Texas are. My guess would be everyone at Bayonne is also.
  21. Exact same experience I have had with the grands. The steward absolutely will take care of the pullman or hide a way bed.
