  1. We've made it for a 10:30 FLL flight before with plenty of time to spare. You just can't experience any delays in getting off the ship or anything. Actually have another 10:30 am flight booked coming up.
  2. On an upcoming 3 night Liberty sailing, we're in a free balcony room for a casino comp. The Royal suite is a actually still available, which got me thinking. If it were you, would you pay the price to upgrade? I've never seen the price within reach before, which is the only reason I'm considering it.. Cost to upgrade for the two of us would be about $2700 total. Would you do it? Only a 3 night sailing but just to experience it? Toss up for me.
  3. The interesting part is I've been on Odyssey twice now within the last year, and I've had some of my best weeks in the casino on both of those trips. Just all depends on the luck of the person at the time, nothing to do with ship specific. Newer games are more volitale than older ones, so with Odyssey having mostly newer machines, yes you'll see less smaller payouts but all averages out in the end.
  4. Agreed. Going from a "free" Suite to paying for an interior or oceanview, not a fan. We specifically picked this 4 day because it's Royals like only 4 day cruise that doesn't leave on a Monday, and good Friday saved a day a pto. Sigh.
  5. Never done celebrity so it'd be a first for us. I have my fingers crossed our free cruise happens as that's by far the best option and cheapest.
  6. Agree. Every time I think of having to pay over $1500 for an interior room when we're in a free junior suite right now, it makes it a tough pill to swallow.
  7. Hi all. My wife and I are scheduled to get on Mariner April 6th for 4 nights. With them canceling the April 1st sailing, and being the planner, having back up plans in mind in the event they cancel our sailing as well. Due to pto constraints, we need it to be around the weekend. We're already booked on a 3 dayer next month on Indy. Currently, we're in a junior suite on a mostly comped casino cruise. We paid to upgrade to the junior suite, so a few hundred bucks. If they cancel, our options are really limited with it being so close and many cruises sold out.. Here's the different options as of right now.. 3 nighter on Indy, even though we're doing it the next month. The only room left is interior, and assuming Royal offers what they did for the April 1 sailing, we'd have to pay the difference, so since our cruise is "free", the 3 night interior would cost us an extra roughly $1900 for two people. Next option is Adventure 5 nighter out of Galveston. Flights can be changed and cost is about the same. Only room left on it is an oceanview and we'd have to pay an extra roughly $1800. Option 3 is fly to FLL, stay at the hard rock for two days (comped) and enjoy their pool area and then drive up to Orlando and do Disney for a day or two before flying home. This option, factoring out any gambling, I estimate out of pocket being $1500-2k. Virgin cruises has a 4 nighter that we can get a balcony for about $2500 total. Celebrity has summit doing a 5 nighter in a balcony for roughly $2,000. Not super crazy about any option since we're currently in a junior suite for essentially pennies with free diamond drinks for the whole cruise and free prime drinks. With the 8 points we'd get for the cruise, we'd be hitting Diamond plus by end of year. Without it, won't hit it until a cruise in January. Thoughts? Obviously prefer it not be canceled but I want to have a backup.
  8. If they expected it to go into additional sailings, do they usually cancel multiple at once or play it week by week? I can't remember what they've done in situations like this prior.
  9. I'm guessing I'll find out next week if the April 6th cruise is a go or not.
  10. Anyone know if you get anything as far as future cruise credit or transfer to another sailing on a comped casino cruise?
  11. Sure hope it's ready to go for April 6th. Offers for it being canceled won't do me any good since it's a comped casino cruise but I'll be out flights.
  12. Yep this is 100% true. A few weeks ago my plane was actually delayed by quite a while because they had put too much fuel in the plane for the short trip and we'd be too heavy to land so we had to wait for a fuel truck to come and remove some of the fuel from the plane before we could leave.
  13. Thank God. I was worried I wouldn't be able to watch Cheddar news or whatever the stupid channel is that they have on and plays the same 8 cat clips all week.
  14. As long as you don't take a test, you don't have covid. Happy sailing!
  15. 100%. Few weeks ago, one bartender wouldn't make doubles and would only stick to the "rules". Another would make my gin and tonics about 90% gin.. Tried to order from him as much as possible!
  16. We aren't big drinkers at home but on vacation we let loose and to your point, it adds up quick
  17. I think my personal record on a cruise in a day is somewhere between 20-25 drinks. Never barfed once!
  18. We've done Jamie's / giovanni's for lunch on embarkation day and we've done Playmakers a few times as well on first day for lunch
  19. The $550 will likely keep us out of the casino more, so spend $500 to save likely around $5k in gambling losses? Might be worth it lol
  20. Not too much. My wife does some wine but I'm not a fan. I usually stick to gin or tequila
  21. You're forgetting boarding day as we're generally onboard by 11am. Easily 10 drinks each that day, Nassau somewhere around 15 each if I had to guess based on past cruises, and potentially more in Coco cay since the cups are smaller at the pool.
  22. That's Royals newest ship that hasn't been released yet.. Tractor of the Land! Plowing a field near you in 2025. All speciality restaurants are corn infused specialities! Puts a real twist on "chair hogs"!
