    Port info

Yes, I read all the tour info on the website - gave me some good idea - it was helpful but I want a booklet in my cabin with more port info!

    Online payment

Hope that is one of the changes coming soon!
  3. Can we hope for online payment anytime soon? Crazy to want to make final payment and have to wait on hold.

    Port info

Thank you for your suggestion and I have done so. Some of our ports are just not often visited by the main cruise lines which is why I am so hoping what Charlie's Aunt posted above is true. So far Tripadvisor has given me the most info on the "off the beaten track" ports.

    Port info

Oh that info on the Greece itinerary looks great - I hope they do that on our upcoming Journey sail!
  6. well others may have more recent experience but in the past the CT trains were not particularly on time / reliable. I would suggest NOT taking the last train scheduled to get you there on time. It might be a place where a ship's excursion is not a bad idea. Part of the issue with the trains is that they are regional ("milk runs") and not the intercity trains which would tend to be more reliable as to their time tables.
  7. I THINK they will take you to a point where you can access the vaporettos and you would need to take one (or a water taxi) to St. Marks square. There are not any land vehicles that get close to St. Marks.

    Port info

We will be on the Journey soon with numerous stops at ports in Greece. Some large / popular ones, some not so much. I have done some research but esp. the smaller ones, not always a lot of info. What can I expect from Azamara? Info on a daily ship's paper? Pre-arrival port talks although almost every day is a sea day - maybe in the evenings? Might there be a local representative that comes on board? (I can't remember if it was Azamara or Oceania that used to do that). We are doing some ship's tours but would also want to do some exploring on our own. Thanks!
  9. I loved the Byzantine museum, I am a Christian and it might not appeal much if you are not. But it has the most amazing collections of icons, various church relics and more.
  10. I really wonder why Santorini does not try to resolve the cable car scrum. I do think on my upcoming Azamara cruise we are doing an excursion (Panoramic Santorini) that does return to Athinios, then tender back to ship. It is especially promoted for those with mobility issues and avoiding the cable car scrum - I thought other cruise lines might do that too. I think the day we visit there will be 9000! passengers in port - we may stay on the ship. That is way too many for an enjoyable day.
  11. I THINK if you are taking a cruise ship tour you will get off the ship at a different port / dock where there is no cable car. After the excursion passengers get off, the ship will then move to the port where the cable car is. When your excursion is finished, you will tender to where the cable car is down and not have to deal with the cable car / donkeys at all unless you want to go up to Fira. Read the description of your excursion closely and see if that is not the plan. It is for many of the cruise lines.
  12. Is there a gambling obligation? I know nothing about these "deals" but since we are elite, we would get happy hour drinks? and internet. I was surprised to get this offer - we rarely go to the casino. Does the second person in the cabin pay a fare? Thanks.
  13. lisiamc - thank you for that! I read the email from Azamara and saw THAT about 45 minutes ago. Then it was posted on our roll call no test needed - I went back to my Azamara email and it is gone?! Confusing!
  14. Beamafar - strongly encourage you to go to Lucca. You can rent bikes and bike around the city on a very wide and flat path atop the city wall, or walk it if you prefer. Quite special.
  15. Are you bringing these beverages on in "rum runners" or does Azamara allow them on? confused
  16. I rarely go to a spa or get a massage. On a recent HAL sailing I decided to treat myself to a massage at their spa. I paid over $100 for what seemed more like a sales pitch for various products than a relaxing experience. I got to hear about my"problem areas" all the ways I was not taking good care of my skin. I did not want to purchase any over priced products but actually felt badly because I thought the lovely young woman might be "graded" on her sales effectiveness. So now I have a nice OBC for an upcoming Azamara cruise but do not want a repeat of the HAL massage. Does a massage on Azamara come with an extended sales pitch? Thanks
  17. Just watched the video review on the other thread and have a question. In the evening, is there a buffet in the lido? We have not sailed Azamara probably in the last decade and often enjoyed a buffet in the evening on Celebrity ships. Thought Azamara would also offer that if we wanted to skip the MDR for an evening or two. Thanks!

    Trying to call

This is just crazy! I need to make final payment today or tomorrow for an upcoming cruise. I was on hold 45 minutes this morning before I gave up. Now trying again and holding, holding, holding. If Azamara is not going to allow folks to make payments on line then they need to answer the phone, maybe have a dedicated line for final payments. or have a callback feature. GRRRRRRRR not happy! Will they just kick me to the curb if I don't get thru to them to make the payment?
