  1. The ship is not a year old yet. I hope Viking sorts this out, there is not enough ports on this cruise to actually have some of them cancelled.
  2. Wellington Port is not until February 3rd. Can not be weather related.
  3. Doing this cruise 21st February on Mars Sydney to Auckland. I have purchased an excursion for Wellington with Viking. I would also like to know what is going on.
  4. This Rat test is confusing. Do you just take a time dated photo with you phone. Does it have to included a photo of yourself. No details on Viking, unless they give more detailed instructions before leaving. 29 days to go.
  5. I have just completed the Viking on line check in. (eventually got it to accept photo that is now required). There was no request for credit card information. I am sure they requested it last time. Am I missing something. Thanks
  6. Any dark rums on the list. (not the spiced rum).
  7. A new cruise for Australia. A circumnavigation, 32 days January 2025. This is certainly something I would be interested in.
  8. Have Viking got any new ship builds for 2024/2025 which could be doing new itineraries, Last new ship listed is Viking Saturn.
  9. Viking Mars spends 2 days in Auckland . Sails tonight. Arrived 10th Jan, sails 11th Jan.
  10. Some extra dining reservations opened up today for my 21st Feb NZ/Aust cruise. Missed out when my DV booking opened for reservations, but got a 6.30 Chefs Table and a 7.30 Manfredis today.
  11. N No booking summary included in my list.???
  12. I don't know why Viking does not include Milford and Doubtful Sounds in its New Zealand/Australia cruises. Must cruise companies do.
  13. Viking does not go to the Milford Sounds, which is a must for cruising in NZ. Although I am a Viking fan, and doing the NZ/ Australia cruise in Feb 2023 with Viking, missing Milford Sounds, Doubtful Sounds and some also do Dusty Sounds. Will see these on a planned Seabourn cruise.
  14. Passengers on Viking Orion got 50% of their fare back. They were not even going into the Sounds. Just had to miss three ports, Dunedin, Christchurch and Hobart. They have had 2 days in Adelaide added. When I was on a China cruise with Viking we got $150 US dollars per person just because there was going to be crowds at some stops because of a Chinese national holiday .
  15. Didn't get any bookings, as only 9.00pm available . Days 1-8 did not show at all.
  16. We are on this cruise. The days available started at day 9 (what happened to day 1-8) and only 9.00pm times available. My booking time stated 8.00pm Sydney time which would have been 10.00pm NZ time this evening. After seeming your post, I went and checked.
  17. We got to book our excursions today, Viking Mars Aust/NZ. DV6. Booked paid for excursion first, then the included ones. All times where available, except one, where one time slot was full. I doubt that booking my restaurant excursions on Christmas eve, will go as well.
  18. Do they still have extra charges on some of the items (eg Steak), in the Waterfront restaurant.
  19. I would be interested to see what flights they put you on. I am interested in a cruise LA to Papeete. Flying to and from Auckland Business class. Air New Zealand is direct from both ports. I do not want a 12 hr flight from Auckland to LA to turn into 27 hours with 3 stops on an American carrier. (Air New Zealand now fly direct to Auckland from New York). I doubt if Air New Zealand is a carrier used by Silver Seas.
  20. You are all missing the point. Regardless of whether you can get restaurant booking on board, DV cabins are guaranteed 1 booking in each restaurant 60 days prior to the cruise. If bookings are available when on board, then they should be able to be booked prior to boarding as per Vikings guarantee for DV cabins. Otherwise, remove these false claims from cabin information.
  21. I have just read that the Windstar Sea Breeze is going to be permanently homed in Tahiti from February 2024. No reason why it could not have done the New Zealand cruise
  22. I am doing the Viking Sydney to Auckland in Feb 2023. It does not go into the Sounds, but I had a credit to use from a South American cruise, so decided in these times to do one close to home. I liked the sound of the Windstar Auckland to Auckland cruise for 2024 and as we no longer want to do the long flights to Europe, just cruise either Australia or New Zealand as long as it was on a nice small ship. Really, it is more for the ship experience now.
  23. Weird. I live in New Zealand and thought this was a great itinerary and would love to have booked it. I do not like big ocean cruisers so I was looking forward to going on the Windstar. Your itinerary sounded great and it must be a great disappointment to you to not be going on it. It will not be easy to find a replacement cruise as interesting as the one you had booked.
  24. This New Zealand itinerary for 15 days has 4 duplicated ports, and 4 missing ports as per the map for this cruise. After cruising the Sounds, it just does the same itinerary in reverse. I queried this with Windstar, and was told that this was correct, NZ had limited ports and it was so people could see the places twice????? Ridiculous. All other cruise lines visit the missing ports.I live in NZ and thought this would be a great cruise to see the Sounds and not have any air trips, plus I would love to be on the Sea Breeze. I do not think many people coming from UK or USA would appreciate the changes to this itinerary. The itinerary was not always like this. It just changed recently.
