I made a booking today directly with Royal because my big box TA did not offer a refundable deposit. Now that I have a reservation #, who do I contact to start the transfer royal or big box? I know I must do transfer within 60 days BUT can you do transfer the same day?

Does anyone know if La Patisserie on Anthem would be included in the udp, it's NOT really dining ,but udp is on sale and rcl may swap out allure for anthem dec 2021 in Galveston and it seems like anthem has far fewer speciality choices

I've been on 4 different cruise lines, royal being my favorite BUT we did Alaska on celebrity because in my opinion, Alaska is ALL about itinerary.
wanted to go the Vancouver to Seattle , so we could do train up FROM Seattle.
loved seattle, loved train , loved all ports, too tired to care what ship or cruise line we were on.
Hated Vancouver customs and hated Vancouver seaport.
if I knew someone who wanted to go to Alaska i would recommend Hal eurodam , just for itinerary ( never been on hal)
Ps excursions cost us more than the cruise, would do it ALL again
And definitely get a balcony

Not a casino regular BUT I usually tip $1 cash on top of drink and gratitude, which usually by day 2 i feel like I get better service .... So if you AND your partner BOTH tipped $1 cash per drink, I don't see the wait staff proactively trying to figure out your ruse. And at essentially $2 for your partners drink ... win for you a win for the wait staff

i like your thread, it's a topic i have thought of many times the last few months.
I have people in my life that love to cruise and are scared to go out for even essentials.
Other people in my life who, have never cruised and didn't see the appeal BEFORE.
But to answer your question, I don't know , I am in a wait and see mode.

I have a question, we are booked on Allure out of Galveston Dec 2021, can we lift and shift to symphony out of Miami Dec 2021 since Rcl won't make any announcement on which ship will be in Galveston to well after Aug 1st

"Strip Search at the airport? Huh? Is Fain suggesting they will do strip searches before allowing folks to board a ship?
Haha, hoping Your reply was meant as a very "tongue in cheek" question

I've read Galveston can handle a larger ship but the concerns are people handling and traffic outside.
Three rumours in last couple of days have Anthem coming there. We'll see 🙂
I sure hope so, I have Dec 2021 allure booked but will cancel it they simply leave liberty in Galveston

I for one would LOVE if Royal Caribbean would simply sell packages like there sister company Celebrity. I LOVE the premium non-alcoholic Package and would sail exclusively on Royal Caribbean if they sold that exact package.

I haven't found internet to be bad in Alaska. Maybe in Tracy Arm there would be a problem, but I wasn't trying to use it during that scenic cruising.
Internet is bad in fjords, and at extreme latitudes, but Alaska is far enough south to be all right.Oh ok ty, I have never bothered with internet on a cruise (I finally have DH 's attention LOL) But this summer we will be doing our 1st hal cruise and got the internet with the explore 4

Internet satellites are positioned over the equator so reception in the Caribbean is decent but not quite good enough for live streaming.
So I'm guessing this meaning internet in Alaska will be frustrating at best, yikes.

Seattle has the city provided Luggage program. Similar but different...most importantly it is free, and provided to all cruise lines.
If you could elaborate on this or share the name of this program, I'll Google it. TY 🙂

This is the 1st time I booked thru a BIG box ta, do I fax it in myself to hal as usual or do I HAVE to send it thru TA? And will it be like everything else bc I booked thru TA, NOT visible on hal's website, just hoping stuffs there once onboard, or will it show up??? Ty

We do #1 in May and I would recommend #3 because going back the same way in the train lost most of the appeal, don't get me wrong it was awesome but wish I had done rail\bus

3 follow up questions (DH will ask me)
It will be 1st hal cruise for us.
where do you get the smoothies and oj, on Eurodam?
I'm assuming it's just concentrate oj?
Explorer 's cafe menu mentions iced and hot, No frappes or frozen?

Thank you for all the replys, especially the link fatcat.

Hi, I am weighing the pros and cons of the quench package.
I like the idea of NOT "adding it up as I go"
We usually ONLY drink 2 or 3 Beers, TOTAL for 7 days
So going alcohol free is no biggie
My decision truly hinges on 4 questions
-- Cost of a 16.9oz bottle of water, if bought without package
-- Are CANS of soda included in quench, (hate fountain drinks)
-- Are Dr Pepper cans included in quench
-- Cost of can soda, if bought without package
THANK YOU in advance to all replys

In my prior business life we used to say that we could not cut our way out of a profit challenge Cutting expenses helped in the short term but hurt long term revenue and profit.
We could only grow our way out, ie attract more customers, sell more product, grow our revenue and our profit.
YES and attracting new customers is only growth when you ALSO retain your present customers. (My example would be to look at direct tv, they ONLY treated their NEW customers well and NOW are struggling , of the 2 dozen customers i knew; they now have ZERO.) I love to interact on the boards but, I'm putting my money wear my mouth is and have my next 2 vacations planned ON LAND

Thank you for the reply. I feel much better. Ty again

On all the other 4 Cruise lines we've been on ,the selling point of booking thru the cruise line is 1st and foremost, the ship will ship NOT leave you because your on one of THEIR excursions.
I've already booked and most are nonrefundable because of train or helicopter caveat.
But I don't actually see that phrase in their website. (That they will wait)
does anyone know if indeed , the excursion runs late they will wait.
Because one is scheduled back at 845pm and all aboard will be 930pm

We don't have a beverage package. I am not interested in the water package celebrity sells. This will be our 1st celebrity cruise. I usually have rccl deliver a box of 12 - 1 liter Evian to our cabin. It is all we need. But it doesn't look like celebrity has this. So can someone tell me the cost to simply buy 1 - 1 liter or the price of a 16.9oz one TY
Ps I can't lug it on board my self (long story just not an option)

Theyre both well located. The Fairmont Olympic has always been a favorite in that 4.5 star range-- it has a lot of character, rooms are decent size, and location is equally as good as both Hyatts. It used to be a Four Seasons a while ago (now managed by Fairmont) but still has that grand hotel feel without the FS prices.
The Edgewater is another favorite-- its built out on a pier. From what I remember its a little more expensive than the Fairmont or Hyatts will be.
booked the Fairmont... Ty
