I was making a mock booking to check for price drops and it seems royal NOW has a final payment in April for our May 2022 cruise.
Would this be available to people who booked thru a TA? Another words if I called my TA tomorrow would they adjust my final payment according? (Instead of Jan 29th) and if they adjust the date, I guess my booking will remain a refundable deposit (just the date changed), correct?

individual guests and guests in non-contracted groups
HOW DO I KNOW IF MY TA BOOKED ME AS A CONTRACTED GROUP ????
Is this a "group rate" thing or something else I need NOT worry about and be on hold for 2 hours to find out.

I'm sure it's just my anal-retentive tendencies, but why use the word ask rather than require. Saying, "we are asking" seems like they are opening themselves up to someone brining a non-vaxxed 5 year old onboard and claiming that they didn't think it was truly a requirement...just a recommendation.
Excellent point

You will pay whatever the nonrenewable rate is at the time that you call
That's what I needed to know THANKS

I paid handsomely for a refundable deposit For our spring 2022 cruise. I have seen on these boards people mentioning changing to nonrefundable deposit just before final payment.
My question is ... How???
When I call my TA is the booking ,
>> completely redone at current prices?
>> Simply changed to nonrefundable and $ , removed from balance due ?
>> Or something else ???

Bayley hinted today at vaccines becoming optional in 2022.
Did he hint that the masks will also be optional????
Because if vaccines are optional but mask Are Not, I will need to get a refund before final payment!

There are exceptions for very specific cases where an unvaccinated adult could qualify to cruise.
Furthermore it can be hard to distinguish between an 11 year old and a 12 year old. Some 10 year olds look 13. Some 13 year olds look 11. The original intent was to have more unvaccinated sailing and that day could come again once certain destinations update their requirements.
As much as I dislike the wrist bands, it is nice knowing they allow crew to ensure that only vaccinated are accessing vaccinated venues.
Wouldn't it make far more sense to require the unvaxed including those under 12 to wear the intrusive wrist bands? ( since they are in the minority) and even more so once the age changes to under 5.

Am I missing something? I thought the wrist bands were originally to distinguish between vaxed and unvaxed people.
BUT NOW that all people 12 yrs and older MUST BE vaxed (and hopefully 5 and older soon), WHAT IS THE POINT?

Recently did a cruise with RC where we are diamond, and one with NCL.
Wow! Does no mask wearing make a difference during a cruise. We will be back to RC when masks are lifted, but for now time to build up NCL points.
I mean come on. Virtually 95% vaccinated, all tested for Covid. Safer then any place on planet earth basically. So WHY the masks? Let people wear them if they choose to. Let me choose not to. 🙄
I SURE HOPE the people at Royal... actually read these threads, because i couldnt have said it better 🙂

I understand your concern. It would be interesting to know if Royal has made a plan if and when this happens. No one wants starving birds or worse dead birds on the ship.
I hope the birds are removed without harming them or killing them.
Would love to know are REAL Answery to this , not just opinions.
Please let us know if you find out TY

I got 500 off 1500; I don’t have any cruises booked currently. I plan to book an Apr 2022 cruise this week and make $1500 in payments. I'll then cancel under the CWC policy in Feb/Mar. That will give me a future cruise credit good until Apr 2023. Booking solo to ensure I get the entire FCC in my name
I had considered this since my TA won't take Amex payment, and I have called 4 times (on hold for over an hour each) to transfer booking back to rccl , without any luck.
Still on the fence, but $500 savings is TOO much to lose out on

It doesn’t matter how many cards you see the offer on. It only works on one card per person.
On a different note, I’m surprised your TA can’t process Amex. The merchant is Royal, not your TA.
I have offers on my name and my husband.
Called today and confirmed... big box TA said no Amex period 😓

Anyone know a work around this....
Have it on 2 cards , one i'll do cruise planner items on black Friday BUT
went in to make $1500 payment to the only cruise I have booked and
My big box TA doesn't accept Amex
I'm so bummed, anyone have any ideas? 😁

Everything in the planner, including excursions, can be canceled up to 2 days out online for a refund. You can do the same on the ship for OBC.
Ty 🙂

I got the offer, I know beverage and dining package are able to be cancelled BUT does any one know if I book excursions now but have to cancel cruise are they refundable ( I know Amex would take back statement credit, just wondering about rccl policy)

Thank you for review. I am sorry you had a bad time. All your comments would probably echo mine if we had gone yet. I am about to pay final payment, and I must say your review saddens me Greatly. I don't get the vaccine JUST to go on vacation but after 2 1/2 yrs of No vacation, I was foolishly hopefully for better than your experience.
As a fully vaxed couple we hopefully to be mask free on-board ( by Dec )
HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT

Why not do 2 kinds of cruises...
100% vaccinated from states allowing that (meaning 100% NO EXCEPTIONS) and
Cruises for unvaxed and mixed
So that those of us who are vaxed , don't have to mask and test or anything else you makeup tomorrow and add to the protocols.
This could work if people were allowed to lift and shift to different ships on the same week they are already booked on.
At this point I'd give up Symphony for a ship less-than... IF 100% VAXED so I don't have to cancel.

I am vaccinated, yet my cruise will most definitely not be "normal" on Royal unless Covid and the DV magically disappear between now and November. There still always a chance that I might test positive right before sailing or even worse, test positive during the cruise and be quarantined and sent home. Sorry, but that isn't what I booked in October, 2019 - long before Covid, and quite frankly, it isn't anything I'm interested in doing until this crap is over.
I'm not concerned about being exposed on a cruise ship vs land. It's all of the other hoops people are made to jump through that are problematic to me.

Just checked flights from FLL to Rome and the prices are around 600pp one way in April. You can also go to London or Frankfurt and maybe find cheaper flights. You might be best to buy insurance if you dont use Air2 sea. It is too complicated right now as the airlines do not care about the reasons for the flight. They just sell A seat and the rest is up to you.
This is similar to my advice, although London is sometimes a better deal I would check Paris , and catch a overnight train to rome

@newcruzer2If you cancel under CWC at the last moment which would be December 8, 2021 (48 hours which to me means 3 days ) your FCC will have to be used and sailed by December 8 2022
TY for your reply, you are on the ball, I had forgotten about needing to cancel by that Wednesday night 12/08 😃TY

From CWC FAQ
The CWC FCC’s value may be applied on or before April 30, 2022 only toward the cruise fare due on a new booking or to satisfy the remaining cruise fare balance due for an existing booking, on RCI, for a sailing scheduled to depart on or before September 30, 2022. If not used on or before April 30, 2022, the CWC FCC will automatically expire and have no value.
Final payment changed to 30 days, a question

Thank you all for your replys. I will contact my big box TA today, I was hoping their website would automatically adjust the date because they don't allow email and hold times are BAD. But if on the off chance they won't update the new date, I'd rather cancel and rebook thru Royal.
