    On RCL site is says

    CRUISE WITH CONFIDENCE

Cancel up to 48 hours before your sail date and get a future cruise credit good for 12 months or more. Applies to existing bookings and new ones made by July 31, 2021.

    AND

    CRUISE WITH CONFIDENCE

Cancel up to 48 hours before you sail and get a future cruise credit valid to
book by April 30, 2022 and sail by September 30, 2022.

For cruises booked on or before July 31st, 2021.

My cruise is Dec 11, 2021 SO... WHICH IS IT SEPT 30, 2022 OR DEC 11, 2022

because Sept 30th is a deal breaker but if I have till Dec 11, 2022 that would be ok. Trying to figure it out before final payment.

This question has been asked many times BUT I have seen replys say one then the other and with RCL website saying  both, I am confused.

Cashed in 50k for OBC on upcoming Mariner cruise. Took about a month to show up in my cruise planner.

A month?? Well that is bad news for me, I have been waiting untill pts are enough for a $500 discount on cruise, but my statement/billing ends Aug. 17 and final payment is due Aug 30th, I guess that would be way too short of a time ... since it took a month for you once 😞

My niece a local RN has been helping vaccinate the crew of the Freedom of the Seas this past week.   Each record card had NU in place of the persons name,  she was told it stood for Name Unknown.   All the vaccinated crew (hundreds) had this same name on the cards the medical team filled out.

I think I understand your implication ...  with such incomplete records, how will we really know WHO is truly vaccinated and possibly people (not the crew) faking vaccination ????

my issues with this are less about vaccinated and non vaccinated... it is about what protocols will be in place.... I liked the idea of a totally or almost totally vaccinated cruise... because.. I don't want to have DH and his scooter stand in line for 30 minutes while 4 people at a time get in the elevator... or having to sit at a Diamond club event wearing a mask because they have no idea who is and who is not vaccinated.  If you are vaccinated you shouldn't be concerned about being on a ship with non vaccinated. Instead the non-vaccinated should be concerned about being on a ship with a bunch of other non-vaccinated.... I just don't want to go back to social distancing and masking if I don't have to.. Today I can go to a restaurant maskless or Costco... I want the same freedom on a ship...

I had a dream that upon waking inspired this question, which doesn’t effect me, but I am curious.  Covid in the US is still out there, and is an issue for the unvaccinated, in which children represent a large portion.

So if one supposes a family of 4 pass all protocols to embark on a 7 night cruise,  Parents are vaccinated and 2 young kids are not, but they pass the boarding test.  Further suppose one of the children appears to develop a minor cold on day 4.  Will they Covid test that child then and there?  Suppose the child tests positive, I assume they will quarantine the 4 until the next port and then disembark them, at their cost?  Assuming the kids were mixing with other kids in the children’s programs, will those children and parents also be quarantined, and put off?

Am I wrong in thinking unvaccinated children are a subset of passengers with more precaution than those sailing on the Dawn Princess, but still potential victims of a wildfire Covid spread on board if any one child picks up Covid on their journey toward the ship?

Lastly, does that mean that in a few months I will be reading on these boards a disgruntled potentially former passenger who was in their mind unjustly quarantined or put off, but will continue to cruise in the future if rightfully compensated with a lifetime cabin on the Odyssey of the Seas? Or something fair along those lines.

Eddie, not traveling with kids but curious about outbreaks.

I think your scenario is completely possible. Which is why I would live to see cruises have a policy of 100% vaccination NO exceptions. But RCL seems unwilling because they are a family cruise line.

But I believe if your scenario plays out on a NON 100% vaccinated ship, that company may never fully recover  to pre pandemic levels or revenue. MHO

I actually just did this for my August (hopefully) cruise and I used a TA.  You simply go online, click redeem my points.  You will have a drop down menu, pick your reward, go to check out.... then, you will be asked for your reservation information and that's it.  It took about 1 week to post to my balance... I never had to involve my agent, it was all done through Bank of America's website.  I've done this many times with no problem.  Hope this helps.

TY for such DETAILED info, I will try it. 😁

I tried once using my rewards points towards my cruise and because I didnt book my cruise directly through the cruise they wouldnt let me apply my points.  Since then I always book directly with the cruise line and find them more accommodating also with any changes I make.

TY for the reply, just what I needed to know 😁

  10. I have always used my rewards points as OBC but there was a recent thread saying you could use them as a cruise discount, essentially like my rewards making a $500 payment for me towards an Existing cruise reservation.

My question is , I am booked thru a big book TA , will this change my ability to apply the rewards thru the credit card portal. AND will my BB TA be told I owe less, when my final payment comes do? (since they auto draft my credit card if any balance is due on final payment date)

I don't know if they adjusted the language but this is what is on the RCL website right now..seems very clear:

Royal Caribbean guests age 16 and older must complete all doses of their COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days before their sailing. For sailings departing after August 1, the age requirement for vaccination will change from 16 to 12 years of age. Guests under the age of this requirement don’t need to be vaccinated and will receive a SARS-Cov-2 test before boarding.

"Guests under the age of this requirement". There is no ambiguity.

I completely Agree THIS statement from Rccl is totally clear, it was the language in the op's rccl statement which I thought IMHO could have been Interpreted differently 🙂

  12. What worries me about ambiguously saying in first sentence "all fully vaccinated" and then immediately saying "if not vaccinated you will need a negative test"  IS,

all of the rule breakers who will see this as an opportunity to not vaccinate .

Because as we know RCCL didn't use to enforce the rules well, on other matters.

The statement should have been .... Those under 12 need a negative test.
