  1. I paid handsomely for a refundable deposit For our spring 2022 cruise. I have seen on these boards people mentioning changing to nonrefundable deposit just before final payment.

    My question is ... How???

When I call my TA is the booking ,

    >> completely redone at current prices?

    >> Simply changed to nonrefundable and $ , removed from balance due ?

    >> Or something else ???

There are exceptions for very specific cases where an unvaccinated adult could qualify to cruise.

Furthermore it can be hard to distinguish between an 11 year old and a 12 year old.  Some 10 year olds look 13.  Some 13 year olds look 11.  The original intent was to have more unvaccinated sailing and that day could come again once certain destinations update their requirements.

As much as I dislike the wrist bands, it is nice knowing they allow crew to ensure that only vaccinated are accessing vaccinated venues.

Wouldn't it make far more sense to require the unvaxed including those under 12 to wear the intrusive wrist bands? ( since they are in the minority) and even more so once the age changes to under 5.

Recently did a cruise with RC where we are diamond, and one with NCL.

Wow! Does no mask wearing make a difference during a cruise. We will be back to RC when masks are lifted, but for now time to build up NCL points.

I mean come on. Virtually 95% vaccinated, all tested for Covid. Safer then any place on planet earth basically. So WHY the masks? Let people wear them if they choose to. Let me choose not to. 🙄

I SURE HOPE the people at Royal... actually read these threads, because i couldnt have said it better 🙂

I got 500 off 1500; I don’t have any cruises booked currently. I plan to book an Apr 2022 cruise this week and make $1500 in payments. I'll then cancel under the CWC policy in Feb/Mar. That will give me a future cruise credit good until Apr 2023.  Booking solo to ensure I get the entire FCC in my name

I had considered this since my TA won't take Amex payment, and I have called 4 times (on hold for over an hour each) to transfer booking back to rccl , without any luck.

Still on the fence, but $500 savings is TOO much to lose out on

It doesn’t matter how many cards you see the offer on. It only works on one card per person.

On a different note, I’m surprised your TA can’t process Amex. The merchant is Royal, not your TA.

I have offers on my name and my husband.

Called today and confirmed... big box TA said no Amex period 😓

  6. Thank you for review. I am sorry you had a bad time. All your comments would probably echo mine if we had gone yet. I am about to pay final payment, and I must say your review saddens me Greatly. I don't get the vaccine JUST to go on vacation but after 2 1/2 yrs of No vacation, I was foolishly hopefully for better than your experience.

As a fully vaxed couple we hopefully to be mask free on-board ( by Dec )

    HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT

  7. Why not do 2 kinds of cruises...

100% vaccinated from states allowing that (meaning 100% NO EXCEPTIONS) and

    Cruises for unvaxed and mixed

So that those of us who are vaxed , don't have to mask and test or anything else you makeup tomorrow and add to the protocols.

This could work if people were allowed to lift and shift to different ships on the same week they are already booked on.

At this point I'd give up Symphony for a ship less-than... IF 100% VAXED so I don't have to cancel.

I am vaccinated, yet my cruise will most definitely not be "normal" on Royal unless Covid and the DV magically disappear between now and November.  There still always a chance that I might test positive right before sailing or even worse, test positive during the cruise and be quarantined and sent home.  Sorry, but that isn't what I booked in October, 2019 - long before Covid, and quite frankly, it isn't anything I'm interested in doing until this crap is over.

I'm not concerned about being exposed on a cruise ship vs land.  It's all of the other hoops people are made to jump through that are problematic to me.

Just checked flights from FLL to Rome and the prices are around 600pp one way in April. You can also go to London or Frankfurt and maybe find cheaper flights. You might be best to buy insurance if you dont use Air2 sea. It is too complicated right now as the airlines do not care about the reasons for the flight. They just sell A seat and the rest is up to you.

This is similar to my advice, although London is sometimes a better deal I would check Paris , and catch a overnight train to rome

    AND

    CRUISE WITH CONFIDENCE

Cancel up to 48 hours before you sail and get a future cruise credit valid to
book by April 30, 2022 and sail by September 30, 2022.

For cruises booked on or before July 31st, 2021.

My cruise is Dec 11, 2021 SO... WHICH IS IT SEPT 30, 2022 OR DEC 11, 2022

because Sept 30th is a deal breaker but if I have till Dec 11, 2022 that would be ok. Trying to figure it out before final payment.

This question has been asked many times BUT I have seen replys say one then the other and with RCL website saying  both, I am confused.

Cashed in 50k for OBC on upcoming Mariner cruise. Took about a month to show up in my cruise planner.

A month?? Well that is bad news for me, I have been waiting untill pts are enough for a $500 discount on cruise, but my statement/billing ends Aug. 17 and final payment is due Aug 30th, I guess that would be way too short of a time ... since it took a month for you once 😞
