Received an e-mail this morning from X notifying us that our stateroom has been changed.

We actually booked a guarantee Sky Suite so the e-mail is really advising that we now have our stateroom assignment. Don't know if this is a new thing, this is the first guarantee stateroom we have booked in a few years but previously we had to keep logging in to our booking daily to see if we had an assignment yet.

Not only was it a nice surprise to be informed our our assignment but we have been assigned 6145 on the Infinity which I believe if one of the best Sky Suites on M class ships.

Only wish we were sailing after the ship has been refurbished.

It indeed IS one of the best sky suites.  The suite is next door to the PH.  You get a separate tub and shower.  Bathroom is HUGE.

You might want to enjoy this suite BEFORE Kelly Hoppin gets her paws on it....  A lot of folks, myself included, are horrified with the Hoppinization of these beautiful suites.  QUITE DISTURBING....

    Have a fabulous sail!!!!

You have to open each question and scroll down to her vague responses. I'm surprised she didn't answer a question with a question.

You hit the nail on the head:  VAGUE, if any answer at all.  I get more traction and a better response by putting my questions on my post-cruise comment forms.  I make a WORD document for each cruise, adding comments and questions until the cruise is over.  No need to remember; or forget to address something.  Then, I simply COPY and PASTE in the SMALL BOX; and wait for the responses to come flooding in....  Heck, I already have a page of comments for my October Equinox cruise.

I'm very disappointed in LLP, but not surprised.  This was a total waste of time and effort.

With air travel being so awful and costly, I would certainly like to see Celebrity offer more Rdtrip T/A and Rdtrip Pacific to Australia and back. I sometimes I'm able to match dates with Celebrity or other lines with Cunard for a T/A back or T/A over. So much more pleasant spending the days onboard a Cruise than flying.

I don't think LLP understood your comment.  You're looking for B2B, or roundtrip cruises, not airfare, right?

BTW, ChoiceAir DOES NOT have the most competitive fares, as LLP touted.  Nor do they have many of the most direct flights either.

    Hello hcat,

We love to brag about our onboard officers and staff.  However, we try not use paper whenever possible onboard as part of our sustainability efforts.  Thank you for understanding and I know that they love to share their stories if you'd like to ask them directly.  They are each so unique and special, we have the best team at sea!

Have a great day, thank you for your question.

Then, perhaps you could EMAIL them to the passengers, along with the post-cruise comment form....

    Hello everyone,

Each of our ships is designed years in advance of their launch, and guest comments often influence design.  This specific request has not come up often, and we currently do not have plans for this type of 2-bedroom suite. I will pass along your feedback as this does sound like a fun option.

    Thank you!

A "FUN" option?  Really??  Perhaps you've never seen a Royal Family Suite or a Presidential Family Suite on Royal Caribbean ships....  That's what they were called in 2011, at least.  RFS had 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms; PFS had 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.

Perhaps I'm sailing on the WRONG cruise line....

Hi Olive and everyone, good question

Guests traveling solo have become a big trend in recent years.  We have responded by offering more single-staterooms onboard Celebrity Edge, and on future ships, than on any other ship in the fleet.  The feedback has been fantastic and are always exploring other ways to respond to the needs of solo-travelers.  On Edge and new ships coming, a single traveler does not have to pay a 100% supplement due to the solo-staterooms.

Our team is always exploring other ways to respond to the needs of solo-travelers.  I will make sure to share your request and comments with our team.

I'm not interested in the Edge, and even if I was, those single cabins are TINY!!!  I have been sailing in suites since 2010.  Last November, I sailed solo in a penthouse.  And yet, my butler and the people who took care of me only got ONE set of gratuities. THIS should be a very easy fix.  Just keeping the profit you make from solo travelers is just plain WRONG>

    I know it.

    YOU know it too.

The single supplement doesn't need to be 100%.

    I know it.

    YOU know it too.

Perhaps Celebrity doesn't need my business anymore....

I guess you don't feel like addressing the insurance issue....

I didn’t realise that the new ships were offering single-staterooms! Having sailed single the cost can be a barrier at times, so very glad to see that this barrier will be reducing down.

Now all we need are some sailings that embark from Scotland and life with Celebrity cruises would be perfect!

The single-occupancy cabins on Edge are nothing more than a bed, a small closet, and a tiny bathroom.  You will indeed be disappointed, I promise you.

Solo travelers are treated like second-class travelers when they end up spending the most for their vacations.

  7. This thread was very informative for me.  I will be doing the NJ-Dublin_Boston in August 2020 on Summit, in a PH with two fellow cruisers.  I cannot wait to experience the Hoppinization of those once lovely penthouses.  I will try to reserve judgment until then; but I have already begun writing my post-cruise comments.

I'm getting ready for an Equinox cruise in October; then Antarctica in January.  When I set foot in Boston on August 30, 2020, I will be Zenith.  I probably should've kicked Celebrity to the curb years ago, but I have too much time invested in them to not reach Zenith with them, so I shall.

After that, I'll take my FREE cruise and ponder my options.  I will only have one other goal:  taking my 100th cruise.  I'll be at 91 next year, so some cruise line will have to deal with me for 9 sailings.  This is, of course, based on me still being alive and able to cruise....

I am hopeful that this Hoppinization crap will slow down, or even grind to a HALT.  This woman has NO SENSE OF STYLE OR TASTE.  She further doesn't grasp the fact that people willing to shell out vast sums of money want opulence rather than sparseness; cabinets and drawers rather than shelves; seating that is comfortable rather than stools.

I know that at times I need a filter; sadly, my filter last night was XO cognac, and this is the result....  But at least it is off my chest.  FLAME AWAY!!!!

  8. You will enjoy that RS on Silhouette.  It has a guest bathroom.  Plenty of storage too.

If you get Dharma as your butler, he is fabulous.  I had him in November when I was in the starboard side PH.

And if Richard is the Suites Manager, he's fantastic too....

Unfortunately I will be doing my Iceland/Greenland/Dublin B2B on Summit; but in the PH, which has an 1150 sq ft veranda.

Also unfortunate that Kelly Hoppin has destroyed that beautiful interior with her minimalistic design.

I look forward to following your journey as I plan mine....

Sitting in the breakfast room of the Hilton Marina, anxious to board Equinox this am.

im not even going to pretend like I’m going to attempt a Live Blog, but if anyone has questions, I will try to get answers.

i know there have been a couple of threads recently with very specific questions and people offered to answer later, but I’m too lazy and too much on vacation to go back and search for them!

So fire away, we will try to board around 11, this is our first time in a suite - Sky Suite, but our second time on Equinox in the last 18 months, looking forward to checking out the changes.

OMG, thank you for offering.  I'm in a CS on the October 4-14 Equinox sailing.  Finding someone in a suite on these boards is not so easy.

    Here are my questions:

    1. YOUR take on the Suite Retreat:  too much sun; not worth the effort to get there?

    2. Michael's Club:  who is the concierge you're sailing?

    3. Luminae:  who is the Restaurant Manager?  Who is the sommelier?

You can either post or email me.  My email address is shown below my post.

Enjoy your cruise; but moreover, ENJOY THE SUITE LIFE!!!!!

    Struggling to find this :(

All I see is Shore Excursions / Dining & Beverage / Spa & Fitness / Internet & More / Calendar in the cruise planner.

    Am I missing something?

I simply call the Captains Club (800-760-0654; don't press any options, just wait on the line for a LIVE person), give that person my reservation number and sail date, and indicate that I'd like to purchase OBC.  THEY do the rest.  Takes all of 5 minutes.

In our experience all butlers are at least good but when you do get an exceptional one who really does anticipate your wants and needs it does take your cruise to a different level.  An exceptional butler, on a daily basis, surprises you with one more little treat or thoughtful act...it is hard to leave them behind...

We have once or twice had the treat of boarding a ship to find out we have a great butler we have had before....one remembered (after a year gap) that we enjoyed having a tea tray and kettle in our room and had already set it up before we boarded. I don’t understand how they remember these things...

    AMEN to that....

The butler I had on Silhouette this past November, was way beyond exceptional.  I was sailing solo in one of the penthouses, and he made it his business to ensure that the moment I stepped out of my cabin, it was cleaned.  If I was having a party, he would begin the setup the night before.  He and the Suites Manager, along with the Michael's Club concierge, bent over backwards, something I neither demanded nor expected.  A couple who attended several of my parties was in a RS on the other side of the ship.  They commented that they saw more of my butler than they saw of theirs.  Go figure....

My husband and I also had Edwin and he was always “out for the day “and did not return phone calls, send emails or try to contact us. We were very disappointed with him.

Maybe Celebrity should talk to him.

Yes, Celebrity should talk to him, but YOU need to address this issue on your post-cruise comment form.

I've dealt with most of the shoreside concierges, and they are indeed a disappointing bunch.  Even their supervisor, Ashley, is just plain AWFUL.

My SSC in October, Zoe, had the audacity to send me paper luggage tags with handwritten cabin information.  I'm in a RS, for goodness sake!!!!

I swear, I don't think these folks have any clue about how to treat those who spend so much.  I just tell them to pretend they have contacted me; I'll do the rest, when the cruise is over....
