  1. I spent over a week in Iceland and never used cash. They don't want cash with one exception.Toilets ask for some small coin. It is an honor system though no one is there collecting.
  2. Stores will be closed but restaurants and museums, the Caves etc. will be open. The ferry operates on a normal schedule. Buses though run on a limited holiday schedule. Taxis charge a 25-50% surcharge. Black Bay beach I think is the sea glass beach. If you want to look at the sea glass, you can't take any, that would be the only reason to go there, to look. It just looks like a bunch of trash. I don't think it looks very nice. If you are going to the Caves I would combine that with Tobacco Bay or Clearwater. Since Emancipation Day is a back to back holiday that makes for a four day weekend the beaches are going to be crowded. Horseshoe which is the best beach from the Dockyard will probably be very crowded.
  3. You have to show your Social Security Card too. I moved to DFW last year and I had to bring it to get my Texas DL.
  4. They can't get off the ship. They cruise forever.......... Seriously if they are outside the US they will have to visit a US Embassy or consulate and apply for an emergency passport. Passports do get lost or stolen so that is what happens. I carry a copy of my passport to facilitate the process of getting an emergency passport in the unlikely event something happens to my passport.
  5. On an iPhone and iPad you are using the Webkit browser engine no matter what Browser app. Nothing to be done unless Cruise Critic wants to make it display right in Safari. Usually web designers test how their pages display in different popular browsers but they can't test everything.
  6. Here we go with Firefox So it works on my Mac with Firefox But it does not display in Safari
  7. I can't get them to work on my Mac either with Safari so it looks like a Safari issue. AAQ bbbbb
  8. Try forcing it to use the desktop browser on your iPad. Doesn’t seem to make a difference. monday tuesday Thursday
  9. No. The software can tell what device you are using so it chooses for you.
  10. The mobile version of the Cruise Critic software is optimzed for mobile devices. It uses a mobile browser. Not the same as the desktop version.
  11. The sailings are not listed until 30 days out. There is no way to start before that.
  12. OP mentioned RCI. RCI has different requirements than Carnival. OP mentioned some countries. Carnival's or any cruise lines medical exemption does not overide the requirements of any country on an itinerary.
  13. There are several threads here on the Bermuda Authorization. You might want to read them but to answer your question if you read the Bermuda government website it gives all the current information. Right now it is one month before your sail date. Since your sail date is in September the requirements are bound to change. As a matter of fact they have announced there will be further changes. The only sure thing according to Bermuda is the $40 fee. https://www.gov.bm/cruise-travel-authorisation
  14. The Fairmont has been closed for renovations. Optimistic reopening date 2023. The restaurants have been closed too.
  15. Flanagan’s is one of my favorites but I don’t think there will be good Sunset views in Hamilton.
  16. For a restaurant to watch the sunset Coconuts is one. Something you might consider is a sunset cruise. There are several offered from the Island Tour Centre. https://www.islandtourcentre.com
  17. Another rabbit hole. I did register to vote when I got my Texas When I registered in Maryland 35 years ago it was getting my DL. When I voted in Maryland they checked my name on a voter list and I did not have to show my ID unless a poll watcher challenged. Since I lived in that precent 25 years I knew most of the poll watchers so that never happened. In Texas they checked for my name on the voter list and I had to show my ID. No big deal. In Maryland there was always somewhat of a line and I got to chat with neighbors. In Texas I only saw two other people voting..... One thing that might be considered the address verification is that in Maryland and Texas they don't issue the Real ID license at the office. It has to be mailed. It used to be when you renewed your license in Maryland they made the new license and handed it to you at the DMV. You could also renew online every other renewal. But not for Real ID. No online renew. So maybe that is the residence verification, mailing it to you.
  18. You can take a taxi. If they are not at the ferry stop when you arrive there is a taxi stand a few blocks away in the town square. I have always found taxis hanging around the square. You could also walk. I have walked to Fort St. Catherine and the beach where the St.Regis is located. About a 20 minute walk but it can be brutal in July and August.
  19. I have been buying Prana for shorts and pants. Their Zion fabric does not wrinkle and packs well Spill something on them and just wipe off.
  20. I have been buying them for years since I was always missing a spot that goy burned and you don't need as much sunscreen with rash guards. I buy mine from Lands End. The reef safe sunscreen is available on Amazon but I always get mine at Whole Foods.
  21. In Texas. It seems like it is easier in Texas than Alabama. And I didn’t show anything that was postal mailed to me despite one assertion by someone. However it was by appointment which made it fast at the appointment but it took two months to get the appointment and it was pretty close to the required time limit after I registered my vehicle in Texas that I had to get a Texas DL. It seems true as someone posted that every state has its own process but I think they have to get whatever process approved by Homeland Security to be Real ID compliant.
  22. According to Google 😀 If you own a vehicle you must present proof of insurance when getting a license..if you don’t own one you must sign a statement that you don’t. I get the impression that insurance is a big deal here. I have to bring proof of insurance when I get my vehicle inspected. Inspection is every year. In my old state Maryland we only had emissions inspections every two years and didn’t show anything. Vehicles only inspected when sold. Ironic because about 20% of vehicles in Texas don’t seem to have mufflers……..in Maryland they would be ticketed and not on the road.
