  1. sooooo funny. I noticed the same thing. but it's not just this thread. must be something going on with the forum
  2. To the OP, have an amazing cruise!!! It's all good. You won't have any problems as long as the poster who claims they will report you is not on your cruise :)
  3. I'm thinking this is because it's a European booking. In the US, all adults in the cabin are required to get the drink package if one person does. We also pay the gratuities for the package. From what I understand, the total cost of the package is in the fare in Europe and there are no separate gratuities to pay
  4. maybe the rule requiring all adults to have the package doesn't exist for European bookings. I just noticed that the OP is from Spain. I know the rules for gratuities are different
  5. The bartenders and servers will actually put the 3rd person's drinks on the card with FAS, even when it wasn't your intent to do so. I've even had a server ask me if I minded buying someone an upgraded drink when I had the upgraded drink package. Of course, I had no problem with it Now, the question I have is how did the 3rd person manage to bypass the drink package? Did they have a Dr. note? One rule that NCL does apply strictly is that all adults in the cabin has to get the drink package if at least one does
  6. Have you done the same on the NCL site? NCL doesn't have you put whether they are adults or children before selecting a cabin, only the number of guest. Maybe this is an issue with the costco site
  7. I can only speak for myself, but the Indian dishes were still good. They just dialed down the spice level a little, but still quite tasty
  8. sorry. it wasn't posted as a reply to that post, so it comes across as a response to the OP. But you're right, given context it's an excellent point
  9. very low for a gratuity???? $75 would be the gratuity for a $375 check which would certainly be for multiple people
  10. if you have the $50 excursion credit, sign up (once onboard) for excursions that cost $50 or less. The cost of the excursion will be taken from your non-refundable OBC. When the credit is returned to you after the excursion (you don't actually have to go on the excursion if you don't want to), it will be returned at refundable OBC. Once it has been "converted", you can then use it for the casino, DSC, or buying cruise next certs if you want. Since I don't make any charges onboard, I just cash out the refundable OBC.
  11. wow, if the tropicana line was that long, I can only image how much of a mess it was once the line hit shanghai's, which I'm sure also had an incredibly long line at 5:30.
  12. they had vegetarian in the spot that used to be for Indian food (it's labeled vegetarian now). They do have Indian dishes with meat in the Asian section, but just white rice there. I would go to the vegetarian section to get the basmati rice, then go to the Asian section for the Indian meat options. They lightened up on the spices though. I had the lamb curry a few times, but it wasn't as spicy as I've had on other cruises. Still good though. This was my experience on the Getaway two weeks ago
  13. they still had cookies, and pound cake, in the lounge on my sailing two weeks ago
  14. I was on the sailing before you, and there was no food in the casino the whole trip. I was thinking it had something to do with the stomach virus going around the ship. It's usually a good late night snack that they put out
  15. also know that the maximum amount of OBC you can purchase is $1000 per cruise, in case that matters
  16. yes, that's what I meant. OBC is onboard credit. Basically you buy money to have on your account. You can do this before the cruise, like right before if you'd like. So let's say you buy $500 in credits, it will be on your account when you board. Charges would go against this balance. Only if you use up all this credit would you have to go to GS and put a card on file. If you don't use it all, you go to GS before departing and get the net amount in cash. You run the risk of your charging abilities being cut off if the amount of charges becomes more than what they are able to pre-authorize on the one card. that is why I was thinking that you'd have to keep going back to GS to pay down the account with a different card. Of course, you can pre-pay as much as possible before the cruise so that you won't have much, if any, charges to your onboard account.
  17. I travel on comped cruises which carry a $20 per day admin fee. The military discount is taken off this fee. Yes, we're only talking about $2 a day, but the packet and the gathering are both great. I'm not much of a collector of cruise mementos, but I do like the ship patches they put in the packets and those I am keeping
  18. just loose in my pocket, along with my cash and drink card
  19. awesome. just happy to hear that you didn't get screwed.
  20. anyone. I cruise in insides, and always request and get one
