  1. I believe this is true in EU. It's included in the price. I believe there is a law governing this
  2. awesome post. I'm also trying out MSC on a casino comp. Thanks for confirming for me that it is the bella experience. I'm not to particular when it comes to cabins, so it will be hard to disappoint me there. I'll make due with dinner. But since the only cost is the gratuities, I figured why not try something else. All of my previous cruises have been on NCL, where you do have to pay the port fees and their admin fee.
  3. even if pre-paid, you can go to GS and remove the DSC
  4. no, you have to do this onboard. Once you leave the ship, it's too late
  5. Whether you choose to tip or not, If someone gives you great service, fill out a hero card for them. This is how they are able to tap into that some of that DSC $$$, in addition to promotions/raises.
  6. yep, I think it's actually $35 per shot. so a double would be $70 and with the 20% tip, it would be $84 total. That's if you're paying cash. Just $70 if you have the drink package since the tip has already been paid
  7. yes, it took a little while for me to figure out the experience thing. anytime dining isn't worth paying for, for me. Besides, I don't think I get to pick any experience anyway as I'm booking thru the casino. I think it's bella by default. If the assigned dining doesn't work for me, there is always the buffet
  8. thanks. but I just checked their website and they allow birth certificates. Oh well. I was looking to win a bet
  9. you know which cruise lines require this? and this is a real question, not a snarky response. thanks
  10. they should expect to get $125 per CN or $150/$250 for CF depending on which CF they are selling, which would be the actual cost. Social sites that are setup for selling certs don't allow you to post them for any higher. Unless you find someone that don't know how those certs work, no one will buy them for any more than that
  11. interesting thread. I'm looking to do my first MSC cruise, having done 9 on NCL. Up until now, my only disappointments have been assigned dining and no cigar lounge, not that I would allow those two issues to ruin my cruise or anything. But this thread is helping me set the proper expectation. thanks for all the comments
  12. I never take the FAS drink package, and only go to the casino bar. There are no pre-paid gratuities for the casino drinks so I tip as I go. And yes, I find that the service is amazing since I'm tipping. they are so fast to get my drink when they see me coming that I have to be quick and stop them if I'm switching up drinks
  13. ahhh, sounds like you got screwed. did you go to the whiskey bar? the other bars will have a limited selection
  14. yes to EH Taylor. I don't remember whether there was Blanton's
  15. you'll have a nice time. that's the great part about upgrading the drink package. It's a great time to try new stuff before buying a bottle at home. Just so you know, they have the macallan terra, quest, and enigma. Not the year marked bottles
  16. no ATM on board??? Thanks, good to know
  17. actually, 3 different macallans. i'd go with the enigma since you have the upgraded package. BTW, if you happen to be a cigar smoker, the cigar lounge is right there with the whiskey bar and the servers are usually good and attentive.
  18. The sunset bar is the whisky bar, deck 8. They have plenty of good choices with the premium package. I drink my fair share of Macallan. Whistle Pig, Glenlivet, woodford, JW also available. Unfortunately, JW blue is usually only available in the Haven Bar . Hennessy XO is there to, if you're a cognac fan
  19. oh, on-line threw me off. no, not that account. You don't get that account until you've boarded the ship so CF or CN would have no effect on that account. Yes, I'm talking about the total invoice.
  20. total invoice. not sure I even know what the on-line cabin account is
  21. right, I'm assuming your total bill was at least $500. But if your total owed was $450, for example, you would lose $50 in value as they do not give you change or anything.
  22. I was just about to ask the same question!!!
  23. Please everyone, give me a few minutes to get my popcorn ready....🀣🀣🍿🍿🍿
