  1. I'm not going to lie.....I thought the same 🙂
  2. you can also bring up your reservation when you login to the NCL website (or the NCL app on your phone). There is a link to bid on the first page
  3. on my last cruise (before Covid), they didn't have lamb chops and I was disappointed. I booked Moderno for my upcoming cruise and I really hope the chops are back. I skip the salad bar since I'm there for the meats. Although, on my first NCL cruise we went to Moderno and they has some really good ceviche at the salad bar. I haven't seen it since that first cruise. Maybe I'll try the pineapple next time as I hear folks rave about it so much. I'll have a little, not too much to raise my blood sugar thru the roof. I haven't tried any of the other specialty restaurants.
  4. Thanks. Great advice. Honestly, it's not that big of a deal really. I'm totally fine with an inside cabin. I actually like that fact that I can get it pitch black when I take an afternoon nap. I did put in a bid to upgrade to balcony ($150 total) just to see if I could get a cheap upgrade. If I get it, great. If not, let the drinking begin. I know I'm not going to stand in the lines at guest services on that first day.
  5. I'll be on the Getaway on 10/15. Now I wish I was on the 10/8 sailing. Checking in should be a breeze and the rooms should be ready first thing in the AM. That's assuming they don't make everyone wait just out of spite
  6. does anyone know (or think) if a preference is given to equal bids based on which bid was put in first? I'm asking because I want to change the credit card on my bid (my cruise is 12 days out), but it doesn't give you that option on the bidding site. I know I can just cancel my bid and put in a new one with the different card, but I'm wondering if I'd lose a "place in line" because now my bid is just being put in. I'm already doing a minimum bid so I don't want to make my chances any lower. Either way, I'm cruising in 12 days!!! It's my first time out since the pandemic and I've missed the ocean 🙂
  7. this is a picture of Wi-Fi availability. You would need to know the password (and most like pay) to connect to these networks. I believe the OP was referring to actual connecting to the T-Mobile network (via roaming). They would have to turn off airplane mode and connect to the data network for the roaming partner. Nothing special to do besides making sure your data connection is turned on. Your phone will either connect or not. You'd need to proper bands on your phone to connect to the provider
  8. well since you clearly missed the point of my post, please keep your condescending advice to yourself
  9. no need to call. the OP is using a land based casino comp. The certificate they were handed will show which ships/cabin type, and sail dates they are entitled to. And yes, the cabin can be something other than an inside, but it will show on the cert. Once they have completed their first NCL cruise they can call CAS directly and inquire on comps based on their play on the ship
  10. Good. I wasn't sure if the 3rd guest had to pay the admin fee or not.
  11. I'd be more concerned about the lines/wait at 9AM anyway. I usually try to get to the port around Noon. There is rarely a line at that time (and they have definitely started boarding by then), so I'm able to immediately check in, get on board and have lunch, and the rooms are ready pretty much after I finish lunch. And since I always carry on my bags, I can unpack and be in full vacation mode long before we take off.
  12. you get all the current promos on the casino comp, so 3rd and 4th guests are free. All of my cruises have been on the casino comps (from land based casinos), and you get the offered promos. It was really nice when they offered free gratuities or free flights. Yes, you'd have to pay to upgrade to a higher cabin if you want. But you can also just get the inside if that is OK with you (assuming your comp is for an inside). You can also book a handicap cabin which will be bigger than the regular insides
  13. my cruise leaves in 13 days, and haven't heard anything yet on my bids. I put in a minimum bid to go from inside to balcony. I'm still seeing well over 100 balconies available, so i call in to see about just upgrading. they are still asking for over $600 for a straight up upgrade, which is almost double what I paid for the cruise itself. I would thought they would have lowered the prices by now, but I guess I'll just see how the bidding works out
  14. Before COVID, I never paid any attention to the check in time. Honestly I don't remember actually picking one before. I just simply showed up when I showed up. I just finished checking in for an upcoming cruise and had to pick a time. There are strong words to scare you into honoring the time, but I still could care less. I'm not planning my morning to show up in some 30 minute window.
  15. Thanks. You are correct. When I log in and start a mock booking, I see that there is a bonus point.
  16. Is it just me, or is there actually not an insider's offer right now? Here is what is posted: I don't actually see an offer. The standard point is just that, the standard. Everyone gets one point per night. And the "more free offers" is just free at sea
  17. actually, I think you're both correct. Absolutely, if guest 1 is paying for the package, then all adults must get it. Also, if guest 1 gets the free at sea, then all guest also get it. the only part I'm not sure of is if guests 2 thru 8 can decline the free at sea drink package (thus not paying the service charge) if guest 1 accepts it.
  18. yes, that was a change a little while ago, all guests (1-8) get the package, with minors getting the soda package. Just have to pay the service charge
  19. If you're sure that you will go, how about just booking as a solo now and adding your wife when/if she knows she can go? That way, you'd just have to pay the difference to add her. Of course, I'm assuming you haven't actually booked yet.
  20. Sorry, but I'm absolutely wrong. Unfortunately, there isn't an option to delete
  21. Excursion discount doesn't apply to the 2nd person. You should now see an $100 discount per excursion for the first person, but still full price for everyone else
  22. Correct. If you want to see the original price, go to the website, make sure you're not logged in and then look up the excursion. You'll see the original price without the $50 discount
