  1. I'm on the getaway 10/15. I see there are still 148 balconies left, as well as 30 club balconies. I put in a minimum (75/PP) bid to go from inside to balcony. If I get it, great. If no, will still have a great trip. Last time I checked (about 2 weeks ago), they wanted over $500 to do the upgrade over the phone. Maybe I'll call back in a week or so if I still see a lot of inventory on the website if see if I can just pay for the upgrade if the upgrade prices have come down
  2. as a Solo, you don't get the extra $50 per excursion. That's why the solo version of the free at see plus is cheaper ($42 per day is the solo price)
  3. and the first entry is actually incorrect. This is how the credit used to work ($50 per port). Now, it's $50 per excursion for the first guest only, like the 2nd entry reads. So now you can do multiple excursions in the same port (time permitting) and get $50 off each. Since you're in a studio, the first guest part doesn't matter since there is only one person on the reservation
  4. do they charge the admin fee if you're just getting the discount? I thought it was only for the comped cruises. I've only ever did comped (vs discount).
  5. Thanks. The reason I mentioned being docked was to point out that the ship should be empty and they hopefully wouldn't have anything else planned for that space
  6. Great. Now i can hold out hope again that they put the NFL games on. Especially since we'll be in port, so they ship ship should be somewhat empty.
  7. You know, I'm thinking about the wrong space. I am used to the big screen being on the deck above the pool, where the hot tubs and big open space (dance floor at night). I guess this is spice H2O. Where they have the parties at night.
  8. so are you saying they don't have the big outdoor screen on the pool deck? I'm going to be on the Getaway next month and was hoping to watch the NFL games on the outdoor big screen.
  9. My first choice for the night game will be the cigar lounge, followed by the casino bar
  10. BTW, I'm also cruising this day and I'm expecting it to be shown since it's the Sunday night game. I hadn't thought about when to eat until I saw your post. Think I'll do 6:00 somewhere, giving me plenty of time to eat, change into my 88 jersey and find a good seat up on the pool deck
  11. You may just want to eat and skip the game. Watching that beat down Da Boys gonna put on them birds will make you throw up all that delicious meat 🍖🥓
  12. but my original point was if you take care of your bartender, it goes a long way. Even if I did have the drink package with pre-paid gratuities, I'd still give the bartender a buck or two. Like others have said, do feel obligated, but do what makes you feel comfortable. There is no right or wrong answer
  13. Correct. Complementary in the casino. You receive a drink card for use in the casino or at the casino bar. There are no pre-paid gratuities, and it includes bottled water, soda, and coffee which are not included in the standard free at sea drink package
  14. Same thing happened to me last year. They never really explained it to me so that I could understand, but they stood by their belief that I was one day late. Worse thing is I was trying the day before but kept hanging up due to the incredible hold times. I thought I had one more day. I had no choice but to hold for over an hour the next day only to be told that I was one day late. I was like "whatever" until the rep quoted me some astronomical cancellation fee. I knew there was no way they were going to get me to actually pay them to cancel. After demanding to be transferred to a supervisor, I was still told that I was one day late but she agreed I'd only be out my deposit. She also laughed at the notion that I would have to pay more to cancel. Ended up costing me a cruise first certificate
  15. How do you figure that? I'm tipping the bartender or server when they give me my drink. Where is the 2nd tip?
  16. If you're buying the drink, the answer is yes. They add gratuities to the check. I get my drinks at the casino bar using the casino drink card, so there is no charge and it doesn't come with a prepaid gratuity charge like the free at sea drink package
  17. Just like when I'm home, I always take care of my bartenders. A buck or two per drink makes for much better service and drinks. I never get the drink package so it's not like I feel that I'm double tipping
  18. for those on cruises lately (especially my fellow diabetics) have you noticed sugar free syrup easy to find during breakfast? I would bring my own, but I rarely, if ever, checks bags when flying so I'd have to find a bottle small enough not to get taken by TSA. I guess I could buy a bottle once I get into town before boarding if I had to.
  19. booking thru CAS also gets you the low level drink card. Yes, you can only use it at the casino bar, but it's good enough for me and I'm able to decline the free at sea drink package which saves me those gratuities, and I can also get soda, coffee, and water there
  20. good to hear that this is possible and does happen. I wasn't sure if they would extend deals to the CAS bookings. I'm booked thru CAS for a cruise next month (comped), and I called yesterday (spoke with CAS rep) to see about upgrading from my inside to a balcony. I was quoted a little over $500 and declined. I'll put in a low ($100/$200 total) bid and see what happens. The minimum bid is $75. Did you call the regular customer service line, or did you call CAS? Also, was your inside comped, or just discounted?
  21. you'll come across several numbers, but here is one....877-752-9625. I must warn you, the hold times can be quite long some times (often)
  22. yeah, you can definitely sell them no problem. I didn't know about FB, but I've purchased them on ebay whenever I was ready to book a cruise.
  23. That being said, my cruise next month is actually a comp thru casino at sea. It's some sort of slot tournament cruise and I've never played slots on NCL. I'm a table games player. I've never earned enough points to move above the entry level players card. I happened to call because I wanted to book a cruise thru my land based casino only to find out that I was a few days late because it had expired. The person then told me that I had a free cruise thru them which I booked. So it definitely doesn't hurt to call in and see what they can do for you
  24. you should also sign up for player's cards at any land based casinos you visit. The comped cruises come easier from the land based casinos. All of my cruises have come from comps from my local casinos.
