Exactly the same experience for me on my two weeks on Encore in August. Nothing to complain about only praise for all of the crew.

This was banned in the UK a few years ago as there was infection due to bad hygiene practices. I can recommend treading grapes for wine and it is very therapeutic.

It's when you see the guests foraging at the buffet and defecating in the pool that you really need to worry.

I have been cruising for over half a century now and the way to resolve problems whilst on a ship is to go and see the Hotel Director rather than waste too much time trying to get things done and not getting results from hard working staff that might be new and not able to carry out your requests instantly.

Dr Koob, You need to ask for the wine list straight away or have one delivered to your suite so that you can see what is offered. You also need to speak to the Maitre d' and tell him how you want the pace of your meal to go. Oh and the steak is really like the mattress topper. If the first one is too firm then ask for another 😁

The answer will be interesting and I'm sure that the cruise line will not like you doing this as they have you set up for billing and safety issues in the exact suite that you have been given. Just move when you have to its really easy

I would have left when the sommelier offered a German Red and White.😁 Did you not ask to see the wine list and buy something decent? Two hours for dinner is not long if you are with friends having good conversation and great food.

This has been in place for a while in Greece We arrived in August with our email confirmation that we were negative from an Antigen test taken forty eight hours earlier at a centre near home. When at the port in Piraeus they were conducting Antigen tests for those that didn't have a negative confirmation before boarding. That was on Seabourn Encore.

I like Seabourn and have many hundreds of days sailed with then since they had the three very small ships. I also like Silversea but the latest ships and not the old ones. Hapag Lloyd Europa is good quality but not quit to my liking. Crystal did what it did very well in the service and enrichment departments but it lacked spacious accommodation which it's competitors had. Shows on most ships are not the quality that you would see in London or NY but they are ok but not for me as I go to the theatre,Opera and concerts on a regular basis here in London. I really just like being at sea and sometimes don't get off in ports that i have been to often. I get the best nights sleep at sea and after a week I start to unwind a little.

Didn't eat breakfast on our fourteen day Encore trip this August but had no trouble getting the Herald delivered on our turndown service. Had good dinners and all were hot and served at the correct pace for us.

And the Maitre d' when you enter the restaurant without a jacket 😁

Perhaps you could ask the entertainment staff to work in the kitchen 😁 Try the Encore as I had a wonderful two weeks in August and couldn't fault the food or service.
