  1. I look at the last time it was refurbished, I prefer an older smaller ship but if it has been more than 3 years since it was refurbished they are either going to get rid of the ship or it it going for a major refurb in the next year and they are putting off any repairs or changes.
  2. I would pick the top so that no one can look down on my balcony.
  3. You should be able to see the NCL tours by now, the islands are nice and i found this if you want to see about local tours: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/profile/673759-amevola/ We have just booked a panoramic tour of Tenerife with Spain Day Tours. We used them in October 2022 for our Beyond TA both before and during our cruise. Here is the link to read more about it: https://www.spaindaytours.com/spain-shore-excursions/tenerife-shore-excursion/ You can read more about the company as well We took the opposite TA a year ago and it was a lot of fun, but I really do not like sailing East due to the time changes.
  4. I have to disagree with the HOHO bus we usually take the bus all the way around and then decided where we want to stop on the next round, it allows us great flexibility, also some offer free wifi too!
  5. It really depends on what you want to see, sometimes with the ships tours you need to wait for a full bus and they can be larger, more touristy. But for tender ports you do tend to get off the ship first. For Santorini do you want to tour the town or go to the other side? Most of the times the private tours will be the way to go but as always YMMV. Funny side story years ago on a Celebrity cruise to Alaska the naturalist on board took our the same private whale watching tour as we did. To me that was all I needed to know I made the right choice. If you want a more offbeat or private tour book your own for a mainstream safe crowded tour go with the ship speaking with a very wide brush!
  6. I have done quite a few TAs and then we first started taking them they were less than full but once word was out what a great deal they were they have pretty much always been full with the Exception of out Lisbon to Rio cruise but I feel that was also due to lack of staff. The upside is that you have fewer children and more experienced travelers. Many Europeans seem to use the TAs to spend the winter in Florida no luggage limit and you get a cruise too!
  7. I have not looked at all 6 pages but you should use some kind of airtag if you have an iPhone or a Tile or Samsung tag. Any one of them will allow you to keep track of your bags. Very cheap insurance to make sure you know where your bags are located. We have had bags delivered to a totally wrong cabin on the other side of the ship. Using the find my Airtag app made it very simple to track down our bags.
  8. I would look here: https://www.tropicalsnorkeling.com/snorkeling-destinations/ Bonaire has great snorkeling but I am not sure how many cruises go there.
  9. I just unplug the cable that is plugged in and I picked up something like this, it is easier than trying to bring and use a remote.
  10. Just so you know if I was thinking of the flight I would be safe and book a later one and when I got to the airport I would find out my original flight was delayed by 3 hours and I could have made it with no problem!
  11. Post on your Roll Call and see if anyone else is doing a private tour. 85% of the time a private tour will be better than anything the ship offers.
  12. When you have a problem with a web site the steps to take are a different browser, FireFox vs Chrome. Make sure you do not have any extensions running. If using a MAC try a PC, if you have a not major ISP try a different internet connection, I have TING which is a player in GB Fiber at multiple cities but not really large, there are some Honda sites that do not work and I had an issue with part of the Verizon pages. If all else fails contact the company or embassy sometimes it is on their end, they could be getting slammed with requests!
  13. They are not the best and you have no privacy. Might not be able to get zoom to work but hard to say. Pretty much any answer other than someone on the ship you are asking about will be speculation. Please provide the ship you are asking about if you want a useful answer.
  14. You can usually (depends on how handy you are and the ship and room probably) connect a tablet or phone to the HDMI port of the TV and watch movies/shows that you have downloaded from your favorite streaming service.
  15. No matter what answer you get the one that will count will either be the person when you go to check in, or an official at a port. So get the Visa and avoid any worries during your vacation.
  16. It also depends on your cruise, I have been on a lot of cruises where there were so many people higher than me that my status made no difference at all. Kind of like being in the third group to board a plane with 100 seats and the first 2 groups have 45 each!
  17. Use the Shotgun approach: Try contacting whatever local news station where you are that has a troubleshooter or problem solver etc. Contact them on Facebook, Instagram whatever social media you can. You can contact the Feds here If the problem is not resolved, contact the Federal Maritime Commission by email at complaints@fmc.gov or download, fill out, and mail or fax their cruise dispute services request form. Also record all of your calls after notifying them you are recording the call. Send an email and always state what you want to happen not that you are booked on 2 different flights, but you want to be put onto the same flights. Contact the BBB and state the have violated their own T&Cs. You need to call every day and record the call ask for names numbers and when to expect a call back. Always be polite you are just gathering information to provide to the TV station they would love it if you had 20 or so audio clips of calling them and being stonewalled or ignored. How do I contact NCL corporate office? Corporate Office Phone 305.436.4000. Call Corporate Office. 18. You had better check your cruises something was cancelled, ours was for October and was cancelled they gave us 10% off right after they raised the rates 10% of course!
  19. What they said, if you are going to Cruise you want/need to have a passport you never know what will happen or change.
  20. You might even find they went ahead and charged the card on file, of course this will only happen when you want to cancel. If you miss the final they will cancel, keep the deposit and have you rebook at a higher price!
  21. If you have 3 in a room you can probably skip the 3rd person and see how it comes out or try 2 policies.
  22. I have learned there is a lot the room steward can do for you as long as you ask.
  23. Yes pretty much any extension cord is OK surge protectors are not, so 2 prong cords should not be an issue.
