  1. Oops, time to get ready for golf -- hopefully will post more from Cartagena this evening.
  2. WOW! In reviewing our past itineraries, we have been to Cartagena 5 times…3 times in 2016 alone. We have never taken an excursion there, just walked around, shopped, people watched, and had something to eat and drink. First - 12/4/09 – =X= Solstice - Rome to Fort Lauderdale. Lots of interesting sculptures and fountains. A nice lunch, too. Especially the "homemade" dessert!! To be continued ---
  3. Good Afternoon, Dailyites! Been a crazy week around here with no particular reason -- just not our usual. Thanks to all of you who make this such a friendly, caring place. Cheers to those on the celebratory list and healing hugs to those on the care list. We have only been to Boston once on a cruise - November 2, 2013, during a repo from Quebec to Fort Lauderdale on the Emerald Princess. DH decided it would be a good idea to walk the Freedom Trail in reverse since most of the tourists would follow the recommended direction. It was a good idea, but that day just happened to be the day of the parade to celebrate the Red Sox winning the World Series! Everywhere was crowded and jubilant. A lot of fun and ran across a lot of nice people willing to direct a couple of strangers. We've already seen photos of the landmarks, so will try to show some unique things we saw during our visit. Old North Church with Paul Revere's statue Yes, he's dressed for the occasion! We did get our cannoli from Mike's I don't know what this was, just cracked me up Site of the Boston massacre Gonna be lots of work for the sanitation department! Yeah, we went to Cheers. (They didn't know our names!) It was SRO so we just walked thru and left. DH just had to have one! Celebrations everywhere Incoming during sailaway 😱 Right over Emerald''s smokestacks!! Have a great evening! Kay
  4. This is just heartbreaking 💔. Shame on whomever did not disclose all the facts. Hugs 🤗 to @kazu and hoping you find someone to rescue Shadow soon.
  5. This is what I posted on March 12, 2021, when South Queensferry was last our port of the day. We have been to Edinburgh/South Queensferry twice. The first time (2009 - Grand Princess), we took a ship’s tour of Edinburgh. During the included lunch at a hotel, the fire alarms went off and we had to evacuate 😱! Turns out it was a minor incident with a hairdryer. DH definitely had his priorities when the fire alarms went off 😉 The second time was in 2014 - Ruby Princess. We took a ship's tour called St. Andrews on Your Own. Thoroughly enjoyed our time walking the Old Course (and spending a small fortune in the shops). Messed up our Swilken Bridge photo op by not getting the clubhouse in the background -- oh well, maybe next time 🤞. Have a great weekend everyone! Kay
  6. Good Morning, Dailyites! Not much going on here today -- DH has an ultrasound at 11:00 and I have an appointment this afternoon to get some build-up on my right cataract lens lasered off. Gotta love this getting older! Thanks to all who visit here -- cheers to those celebrating and healing hugs to those on the care list. We have been to Sydney twice. The first time was 10/7/10 - a TA from Southampton to Fort Lauderdale on the Grand Princess. Second time was 10/30/13 - Canada & Colonial America from Quebec City to Fort Lauderdale on Emerald Princess. October 7, 2010, was a dreary, drizzly day. We walked around a bit then on the way back to the ship found the Governors Pub & Eatery. Others have posted pictures of Sydney on prettier days, so I will post what we do best -- eating and drinking 😉. They were celebrating Alexander Keith's birthday and were passing out these lovely keepsakes. Well, we had been in there for quite some time and decided to just wear them back to the ship -- boy, did we get the looks (think they were just jealous) 🤣. October 30, 2013, weather was just as miserable as our first stop, so again didn't do much outside the ship. Have a wonderful day, everyone! Kay
  7. NEWS FLASH FOR ALL THE DOG PAWRENTS OUT THERE!! Today is also National Spoil Your Dog Day 💕🐾🐕🐶🦮🐕‍🦺🐩🐾💕
  8. I hear you! Actually I woke up and couldn't go back to sleep so started checking at 3:30am EST just in case they put them up at midnight! 🤣
  9. OK, I have been checking the website since 6:00am California time. Not seeing anything yet! Anyone having any luck?
  10. Good Morning, Dailyites! A big thank you to all who visit here. Cheers 🥂 to those on the celebratory list and hugs 🤗 to those on the care list. We have stopped at Ponta Delgada four times during Transatlantics -- December 4, 2011, Celebrity Solstice; November 18, 2015, Island Princess; April 9, 2017, Regal Princess; and April 21, 2019, also Regal Princess. @StLouisCruisersSandi, and @Quartzsite CruiserLenda, have pretty much covered everything we saw and then some, but we did have a unique experience the first time we called there. We took a ships tour out to the lakes and Sete Cidades as they have shown. When we got to St. Nicholas church they were having a celebration (maybe it was St. Nicholas' Saints Day??). The entrance to the church as well as the streets were decorated with flowers and we even saw a portion of the procession. December 4, 2011 My Movie 1 - Small.m4v This was taken from the tour bus -- you can see the procession making it's way through the village. November 18, 2015 -- we took a carriage ride around town Statue of the Emigrant The Jesuit College The last two times we were there, we just walked around had a local beer or sangria and enjoyed people watching. Have a great Sunday! Kay
  11. Good Morning, Dailyites! It's a beautiful morning here in Central Florida, currently 77F with a predicted high of only 91 😉. Of course, we are supposed to also have our daily round of thunderstorms this afternoon. Thank you to all for your contributions, caring and sharing. @TbayHappy Birthday to you and your DGS. You are also sharing your birthday with a very special man -- my DH (Jim)❣️
  12. I was wondering the same…. @kazu Everything ok? Shadow/Little is such a beauty and seems to be very intelligent, just a bit traumatized by her relocation. 💕🐕
  13. Maybe this will help answer your question. We were on the first cruise to try it and had very late notice and I couldn’t maneuver it. Just took all paper documentation to port and all was ok. BTW, we also drive to FLL. Kay https://www.hollandamerica.com/en_US/verifly-app.html
  14. @StLouisCruisers Sandi -- Safe travels tomorrow, enjoy family time, and please share photos of Sweet Sadie 🐕. (Guess you could throw in a human now and then, too 🤣) Kay
  15. Was in an obstructed OV and a deluxe balcony on our recent B2B on Island Princess. Both cabins had the Euro (Schuko) plug behind the headboard. In the OV, I used a Euro to US adapter then plugged my iPad charger into that. Had to go without the bedside lamp. In the deluxe balcony, the desk was on the same wall as the headboard so I just ran my 10 ft usb to lightning cable to the nightstand. For our upcoming cruise on Regal Princess I just ordered this adapter that will solve the problem of having to leave the bedside lamp unplugged since it has USB ports for my devices and a universal outlet for the lamp. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BGUWYYW?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
  16. @StLouisCruisers Sandi -- This is a newer version of the TENS unit we have had for a few years. Just bought it OTC at Walgreen's. While this is the D-I-Y version, it's pretty effective on an aching back. (It also goes on every trip we take!) https://www.amazon.com/Stimulator-Simulated-Shoulder-Arthritis-Drug-Free/dp/B00SVPNZXU/ref=sr_1_5?gclid=CjwKCAjwlqOXBhBqEiwA-hhitHmviPawCKVcmLaE-AOA3kVvDZxHqNkr5AiMC_rWf5npCJKTAqtEVRoCBvQQAvD_BwE&hvadid=177804652780&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=9052975&hvnetw=g&hvqmt=e&hvrand=16379480352954849645&hvtargid=kwd-11001327088&hydadcr=21631_9710614&keywords=omron+tens+unit&qid=1659455481&sr=8-5
  17. Sandi, exactly my thought. I did go onto an Apple support forum yesterday and found out if the battery is left out then the device will have to be re-paired to your iPhone/iPad (makes sense). Pairing was very simple/straightforward.
