  1. Well, the email with the private sale is to me(not a casino offer). As I said, I can get most of the advertised prices (yes, I did mock bookings on many to see) but not the two that I do want to book. It just seems like false advertising to me really. I get that it is probably a software problem and I might call them to see, but, if they send me an email with a certain price, I expect to be able to get that price when I book the cruise.
  2. Yes, I have to sign in to see the prices, but on two cruises that I really want ($3000 less)the price advertised doesn't come up when I try to book........at least I am glad it is not just me, or something I am doing wrong. Thanks.
  3. Most of the "sales" I can see and get that price, it is just the very ones I want to book that don't come up that way. So strange.
  4. I keep getting emails about private sales. Some of the prices come up right, but others are thousands of dollars more. Is anyone else having that problem? Yes, I am signed into site. Thanks.
  5. We just returned from Vegas two days ago, and I agree. I have never seen so many dogs in casinos! It was like a dog convention. People will take advantage of this "not having to prove" and soon there will be that many dogs on cruises in the future.
  6. I only have second hand information, so I am sure you know more than me. Thanks
  7. And they should only have a certain amount of rooms that they must use. Why should I have to stay in a room where a dog may have been for a week or more?
  8. My friend who is wheel chair bound HAS to fill out a form saying why she needs the room
  9. How can they require proof of accessible cabin?
  10. They are not telling you the truth Viking. These dogs are NOT service dogs and have not been trained to be. You need to get proper and accurate documentation that is not from the internet and made up.
  11. And all cruise lines. If one makes a rule against dogs onboard, others will follow.
  12. Having been a dental hygienist for 32 years, I have had several service dogs come with patients to appointments. They sit the entire time, without a bit of a fuss or mess. We have to do extra cleaning after the dog is in the operatory. Several people would bring support dogs. They are not trained and run all over, poop, and even throw up in the operatory. Bark when dental tools are used. It is horrible and we also have to do extra cleaning after that. Why should I have to do extra cleaning just because someone doesn't want to leave their dog at home? I saw no emotional support given with the several dogs that have been taken into our office. Why are the room stewards or deck hands given more work just to accommodate selfish, entitled people? Cruiselines need to stop this practice immediately. No dogs unless they are certified, licensed and professionally trained service dogs.
  13. We have been so jaded and unhappy with Princess our last 3 cruises (total of 60 days post covid) that we requested a refund of our FCD. It took a while, but we got it all back. Will we sail with Princess again? Yes, we have one booked in 2024. But, we will likely try other cruise lines more often. Princess will no longer be our go to cruise line.....that ship has sailed😋
  14. Oh okay, I thought you thought I was on this cruise. We were on deck 10.
  15. Yep, covid table! Be careful. We saw that happen too, first one, then three and soon the about 3/4 of the hall had the tables. If they say it is not in the air system.........just look at how the tables appear. Some halls have none and others, almost every cabin has one. It is either the air system or the room steward. Yes, we got covid the very last day. But we resisted for 30 days.
  16. Well for everyone defending HAL in this case, saying that HAL did all they could. Imagine if it were you in that man's position......would you feel they did all the things right and all that they could? It is easy to comment when we were not the ones who were affected. If that were my husband, not only would he have been miserable, I would have too. Face it, this ruined their cruise, no amount of nice hotel, first class plane can make up for being on the cruise you planned for along time being derailed like that, no amount. They should have gotten more compensation or a make up cruise free. Giving them a makeup cruise would not cost HAL a penny. They have empty cabins all the time. They should have given the OP the option of a few free cruise dates and they could have either taken it or not.
  17. What is that?? Also, did you have to have a covid test before the cruise? Have they said if you going to be tested while on the cruise? Thanks.
  18. That is a great cruise and one of the B2B we did. Our friends were in the Presidental suite and it was really nice. If you can get club class(are you already?) it is far better. Just to add, it is not horrible on the Island Princess. We had a great cruise (except getting covid part when we got home, we started feeling sick on the plane home the day of getting off the ship). It is just not the best cruise ship we have been on. It is fine, I would even encourage the B2B. Don't let my or anyone's opinion make you not go. We saw wonderful locations and the ship got us there, so that's a win. Enjoy.
  19. Expressing how we feel about a certain ship does not mean we didn't enjoy the cruise. It is just our opinion and there are probably 2000+ opinions onboard. The OP asked for opinions and they were given. We always have fun on cruises, but I was just letting the OP know what we thought of the ship. There is a big difference.
  20. Yes, but the grill is not on the same level as the pizza place like it usually is. It was on the higher deck which was hard to get to and almost impossible for our friend in a wheelchair without having to go on the upper deck for half the ship in the cold wind. We were on for 30 days and would probably never sail on the Island again. Layout is weird, some main venues are on deck 6 (like explorers and not convient, especailly for friend in wheelchair who had to keep taking the elevator just for the main venues) TV's were on demand(nice), bed was comfy. Ship did have some rust, but crew was painting everyday, so it might be better now. Covered pool was nice area. On our cruise, not many people used that pool (hot tubs were closed a lot of the time). We would eat there because it was too cold to eat outside and the buffet was packed, even with 3/4 full ship (Baltic/Iceland) Buffet in front of the ship and it seemed like a lot less seating. Always lines for dining room.........for any meal, long lines. Our friends (wheelchair friend) had club class dining, so they had a far better experience with dining than we did. As I said, our cruise was not full and the ship always seemed full. From the venues (explorers, theater, buffet) to the long lines getting on and off the ship. We are elite and we still had to wait long times for tenders. For the reasons above, I would not sail on the Island again, unless really, really a good itinerary or very, very cheap.
