  1. My DH and I just tried Cheers for the first time. 4 day sailing. We did not come close to breaking even, but tried many different drinks at the Alchemy Bar and really enjoyed the coffee bar, spiked and regular. We always ordered top shelf for our mixed drinks as well. I do like the convenience of the package.

  2. It was last year in December. Just walk through to where the Main Street is where all the horses carriages are and turn right. It’s on a corner on the left side of that street. It’s not far. Sorry don’t know the name of the street.

  3. A ship is like a town. They should use the same caution they would use at home. Of course they should be allowed to explore the ship and use its facilities. I would expect you to have some rules about nighttime curfews and staying together and/or letting you know where they are as you would at home.

I would also expect that they should not bring strangers to their cabin nor go into cabins of others alone either. They wouldn't do that at home(go into a stranger's house ) so they shouldn't do that on a ship.

Ditto! I took 3 teens all boys and they had the time of their life. They met many friends on the cruise. They had rules and check in times and stuck to them.

  4. Eat at Jiji's Asian Kitchen. Only a few ships have it. Food is amazing and a steal!

One of our favorite things about Sunshine is the pool in Serenity (unique to Sunshine). Has its own waterfall. Very cool!

Ocean Plaza is a terrific location for pre-dinner cocktails with Alchemy Bar right there, live music and close to the main dining rooms.

We sailed Sunshine twice in 2016 and she is easily our favorite Carnival ship. Have a great cruise!

  5. We usually get a cold on most every cruise. Before last spring's 40 day cruise to a cold and wet Northern Europe I asked a friend what we could do to avoid tpgetting sick. Oil of Oregano is what she suggested I get. Trying to win over a skeptical husband took some time but he is convinced. Two sneezes and we reach for the OOO - liquid, not capsules. 4 drops in a small amount of warm water (mouthful) and a gargle in the mouth - and swallow!. It is not the nicest tasting and you smell like a salad afterwards, but it does work - we are cold free for 10 months!

I've also used the oregano oil. It is terrible tasting, but I have to admit it worked.

  6. I heard that Carnival is now charging for the towel animals in your cabin. Has any one else heard this? Is this true? I thought the ones they did in your cabin were free. I also thought you could buy them to take home if you wanted. Thanks

Hi Sabres Fan, I am a Sabres fan too!

Can't see charging for the TA as others have said. Perhaps it was the book your friend was referring too.

  7. I agree as a new cruiser you should try other lines and see which fits your needs best. I first tried Carnival and am platinum as well. I want to try RC but I get such good deals (Players Club, Casino) with Carnival, I have yet to do so. I have no complaints with Carnival. All my cruises were enjoyable. I consider cruising the most economical way to vacation and see the beautiful islands. Enjoy which ever sailing you choose.

  8. I didn't see anyone talking about this. Check your casino offers. If you can travel in October or the beginning of November some cruises have $25 per person inside cabins with a $50 on board credit per cabin. I wish I could take advantage but I've got too much going on. There are even 7 and 8 night cruises available! I hope they do this again some other time. I also wish they would email me when these offers are available-I only saw it when I logged into my account which I don't do that often.

I got the email too. I could not get any dates/ deals to show on the calendar as it kept coming up blank. I can't go this month, but I was curious as to the cost.

  9. We cruised with family over Christmas for the first time last year. We really enjoyed all the decor and festivities. We had three rooms and decorated the doors as well as the mirrors in the stateroom with cling decorations. I made special cruising decorations for all in our party and on Christmas morning, at breakfast in the MDR we had our gift exchange. Some ships have snow (fake) falling in the atrium, ours did not, but I would like to experience that while singing Christmas carols.
