  1. Yep - Guy Fieri when he was shooting one of his shows on the Carnival Breeze. What a pain that was - they closed off different areas/venue not just during the shoot, but wherever he went. He was staying in a cabin/suite on deck 7, and they wouldn't even let me go down the hallway to my cabin, which was a few doors from his. They shut down the ropes course so his kids could go on it. Luckily he got off the ship permanently at our second port!

Give me a break. That's a bit much for Guy F. Well, he can buy his own ship now and his kids can do whatever they want.

  2. One of my sister's had a cell bill of $245 her daughter called her three times a day. Drove us nuts especially at 6:30 am in the AM. Another cruise my youngest sister could not deal being away from her boyfriend. She disappeared constantly to talk to him on the cell. Till this day she will not admit how much that next months bill was. I warned her.

  3. Ok the long-awaited review! I may still have to break itdown into different posts but I’m gonna do my best.

Friday August 11 was the big reveal. It was later in theevening due to an issue at the restaurant.

As you all saw from the video he was excited but clearly just exhaustedoverall.

Saturday morning, we got up and he started getting stuffpacked. My mom had stayed the night before as she was staying with our sonfirst half of the week we were gone. My mom and I went to the grocery storewith my son while the DH packed. We got back around 11am and my son went downfor a nap. That’s when I went to check on DH who still was barely packed. Well,he couldn’t find his passport! We tore the house apart looking for it to noavail. My MIL even started going through stuff she had at her house in case forwhatever reason it happened to be there.

I was getting so discouraged as he couldn’t find hispassport or his birth certificate. I even pulled up the Carnival website to tryand see how much, if anything, would get refunded if we canceled. As Isuspected it wouldn’t have been much.

Finally, around 2:30pm my MIL sends a text with a picture. She had found a copy of DH’s birth certificate. Thank goodness! DH finallyfinished up packing. We kissed our son goodbye, made sure my mom was all set,and off we went. We were driving to Orlando to stay at my in-law’s house asthey were driving us to the port in the morning.

When we got to my in-laws we had dinner and just relaxed. Wehad an alarm set for 6am the next morning as we wanted to be on the road by6:30.

    Sunday morning: IT’S CRUISE DAY!!!

It was almost 7 when there was a light knock at our bedroom door. DH and I bothsleepily roll over and squint at the clock on our phones. How in the world hadneither of our alarms gone off?! So, we rushed to get dressed and pack the car.We were on the road by 7:30 with a 3/3 ½ hour drive to port ahead of us. No onehad eaten or had coffee so we decided if we made it to Port Everglades withtime to spare that we would go get breakfast somewhere.

We had only been on the road about 10 minutes when themirrors filled with the flashing red and blue. My FIL had been doing 15 overthe speed limit! Oh boy. The officer asked questions about where we were fromand where we were headed as we were in a rental car. We explained that we werelocal but late heading out to the cruise port. Thankfully, the office let usoff with just a warning. In about 45 minutes or so we were finally on 95southbound.

We made it to the St. Pete area before we all gave in tohunger and the need for coffee. We went through the McDonald’s drive-thru andgot back on the road. After eating I made it a point to sleep a little more asI get carsick. I awoke as we got off 95 to head to port.

Drop off at the terminal was quick. Having purchased FTTF wegot through security and to a check-in counter in under 5 minutes. At thecheck-in counter they were confused why my husband’s name on the reservationwas ‘Christophe’ when his name is ‘Christopher’. I explained that no matter howmany times I had tried to change it the R just kept disappearing. So the ladytried it herself and sure enough it wouldn’t take the R. Apparently DH’s nameis 1 letter too long (though this made for some fun throughout the cruise aseveryone referred to him as ‘Christoph’ [pronounced like the Frozencharacter]).

Everything went great with using DH’s birth certificate. Wewere sitting in the FTTF waiting area very quickly.

You can see the excitement in his face. Great memory!

  4. I drink coconut water to get rid of the muscle cramps I get in my legs. The kind I drink comes in cartons (like a milk carton) I don't think they will let me bring this on the ship. Can anyone tell me what they use for leg cramps. Thank you.

Travsmom, I suffer from night leg cramps as well. Had one last night or should I say this morning 4:00 am. I could not get it to go away and then I remembered someone told me to try mustard! My first thought was that's gross, especially in the middle of the night, but I tried it. I put a little under my top lip and within minutes the cramp went away. Now, it could be that it just worked itself out, but I will try again and if it works quickly, I have found relief! I hope with all these suggestions that you will find relief.

  5. A word of caution during hot seat promotions. "I know HOT SEAT is the name of the game. My machine number was called and unfortunately within seconds I moved to the machine to my right. The casino host came over for me to select a prize, but I was disqualified. I was not on the machine number they called for the winner. I never gave it a thought when I moved. Lesson learned!

  6. I traveled (air) with three other women, two that I did not know that well. We had two cabins so using the bathroom to get ready wasn't an issue. We all agreed at the airport that we were not attached at the hip so if someone wanted to do something the others didn't then we would split up and just agreed to meet at a specific time and location like for dinner etc. it worked out better than I thought it ever would. Don't stress just let them know what your intentions are for the trip to the port and stick with it. Everyone should be somewhat flexible throughout the duration of the cruise. I hope you all have a great time. One more thing, We also agreed that at night nobody would be left alone. This was easier to follow with four people though.

  7. Carnival transfers are usually only the day of cruise and are only from airport to port. I know Galveston is a different port but I don't think any of their transfers include airport, hotel, hotel to port.

I was thinking the same. I've never heard of getting picked up the day before. The buses hold quite a few people.

  8. Definitely with the money. Remember as soon as you to get on the ship to go straight to shore excursion desk to reserve the number you want. I had 12 and it was away from the crowd but close to the restroom.

  9. I was also in Novs Scotia and New Brunswick last October. New Brunswick was very windy and rainy. Nova Scotia was beautiful and we actually put the suits on and enjoyed the Serenity Deck before leaving port. I recommend being prepared for anything. No matter what I'm sure you will enjoy those ports. We sure did, especially leaving out of Manhattan. 344e7ef82504313f53c886bbdc5017d2.jpg

  10. I too just received an offer to upgrade for $20 pp on the Victory from the same type room you have on deck 7 to a Spa room. I declined because it has no Cloud nine amenities and I never had this cabin before and wanted to try it at least once. Either way I hope you have a great cruise.

  11. We were just in Nola and if I remember correctly the fare should be about $18.00. You can also check rates anywhere at taxifarefinder.com. Healyeah30 is correct you can probably walk it unless you have mobility issues and a lot of heavy luggage.
