  1. What wasnt worth it, the AI package or having to go back and forth to Michaels to get free drinks?
  2. I hate to hear this about the Luminae feeling like the MDR since they seem to have enlarged it. We ate in Luminae on the Edge, so is Luminae larger than the one on Edge? I can see Celebrity enlarging it as the suites seem to sell out most of the time. Just wish they could or would add the pool to the older ships so that the Retreat had more to offer.
  3. we used our butler by providing a list up front of what we would like; had read that it is nice if you can provide in writing a list of what you want and provide it to your butler so they dont have to guess and figure out what you want. Therefore, we requested ice in the ice bucket at certain times each afternoon, asked for specific drinks to be placed in the room at 5:00, we knew he would provide canapés but we shared what we liked/wanted and didn't like. I requested a pillow menu, requested extra towels in the room, and we celebrated my birthday one day and the butler sweetly placed flower, balloons, champagne, and a cake in the room as a surprise. We did see other couples who had butlers that came up to the Retreat pool and brought them drinks and checked on them. We were on the Edge July 2021 when she first sailed post COVID and the suites were sold out and we found the bartenders and Retreat pool staff came around and took excellent care of us, therefore we didn't miss our butler. I normally dont utilize a butler that much so we tried to utilize them more as we have found, at least at a land based resort, if you dont use them the other couples they are assigned to will and then you fall to the bottom of the taking care of list quickly. Therefore, when you do need something we found we had to wait as opposed to being needy, which was disappointing. As a result of telling our butler on Celebrity what we wanted, we found him to try to meet our expectations and did a great job.
  4. can you tell me how long each excursion was and did you feel you got to see everything you wanted to see on each excursion? I am curious what excursion choices you had each day as well. In other words was it a matter of which animals you would see or exertion levels? One last question, when on your excursions did you see other people from other tours? trying to figure out how private your experiences were when in the Galapagos. Thanks in advance for addressing my numerous questions and glad you got to go and experience a real treat!
  5. I wanted to print them off and never could in July 2021 and November 2021 when we cruised. Someone had said they dont offer to mail them to you any longer and I was fine with printing them off, but now what? We cant print them either?! Shucks.

  7. i agree, demand has made the cost of cruises and so much other stuff go up. Old economics of supply and demand at play. If cruise lines cannot get the crews they need to provide well for the paying customer, they may have to curtail cruise capacity, cancel cruises, or lower prices. There are numerous stories out there with shortages of crew and people receiving less than stellar service. Cruise lines cannot charge an arm and a leg and provide a less than stellar service. Thats my prediction anyway. As for prices, set up a price alert as there are a few sites that will notify you if the price of the cruise you booked or want has an increase or decrease in the price. Just make sure you book with an agency that will price match.
  8. I am trying to decide whether to buy the premium or classic package. Does anyone know how much a Jack Daniels is? This will determine if its worth the upcharge to Premium or just pay the cost difference if I settle on the Classic package. I think the other drinks I consume will cost $9 or under.

  10. I agree and had to call a supervisor today to purchase the prem bev package. They were helpful and took care of me. But I agree, they should have given folks a heads up that prices were going up or for those of us already booked, dont charge us the higher rate. Going from $69 to $84 per person per day is a BIG jump.
  11. fuuny, when I was on Edge in July 2021 I felt like it was a haunted forest also, and wondered who thought that the design was good. Going on Beyond in August and November and cant wait to see what they dreamed up.

  13. You might also ask, if you receive FCC when does it expire. I cancelled two cruses (OCT and NOV 2021) and received FCC. It has to be used by Dec 31, 2022. Just info to utilize in your planning and strategy.

  15. When I cancelled a Celebrity cruise back in Nov I had received MoveUp bid and it was credited back to me eventually as cash back. So sorry to hear you have COVID. Please get well.
  16. I pray it isnt the new normal. If everyone agrees to just accept it then our quality of life in everything we do and have from cars to paying for food we are supposed to get but never do will be acceptable, Not for me. I can tolerate what is going on now for a period of time but this isnt my new normal.
  17. me too. We have Barcelona to Rome in August and was reading up on what Celebrity will do if you test positive. Its interesting to hear your experience and what they are doing for you. I would have opted to stay on board too. Get well soon and glad you husband was allowed to join you.

I agree on rates they never do but since Celebrity is very customer service oriented I would have thought they might either notify of price increases or implement price increases to those who book after a certain date. I called Celebrity and inquired about the increase and two days ago they increased the prices for drink packages. After holding on the phone I was able to talk with a nice young lady who took great care and provided the level of customer service we are used to with Celebrity.
  19. I got online to book a premium drink package today and just last week the price was $69 per person per day, now they are charing $84.00 per person per day. It would have been nice to know they were going to increase prices. Feels sneaky and I dont like it. Just curious if anyone else noticed this as I am tempted to call Celebrity and complain.
