  1. I have sailed on Viking Ocean twice in the Caribbean. Both times out of San Juan. Wonderful cruises. But my point is that Viking is not really a competitor to Celebrity in the Caribbean. Celebrity has multiple ships sailing out of South Florida every week during the season--and even at least one every week during the summer.
  2. Yes, do a search of Viking Caribbean cruises. Many of them are out of San Juan so you will see the ships in the Eastern Carribean. I counted 24 Viking cruises out of Florida during the next TWO years. (And 24 out of San Juan). All of them more ten days or longer. If I am incorrect, I will stand corrected.
  3. I have found both taxis and Uber available. I have started taking taxis to the airport since it is easier to get a taxi. Ubers take awhile and are hard to locate because there are so many people waiting.
  4. Pre-covid, this was possible with extra payment. Not sure if it still is possible now.
  5. I don't believe the discount is stacked. Call the Captain's Club number now to get the discount. Be sure you have info from the webpage as to the undiscounted price and have a calculator handy.
  6. I enjoy both cruise lines but Viking is very limited in the Caribbean compared to Celebrity. Particularly out of Florida.
  7. The size of the ship might make a difference. I sailed on Riviera and found it easier to use the shower in the tub rather than the one in the shower staff. 6'8".
  8. You can like whatever ports you want. And I can like what I like. I see nothing “rude” about expressing my opinion.
  9. If you cruise regularly, you will become very tired of Nassau....
  10. The ABCs are one of my exceptions too. As well as Antiqua and some other islands in the West Indies. But I concur with you about Jamaica, Mexico as well as the Bahamas. I will still go there but the cruise line is the major reason that I sail.
  11. Many people can handle one or the other (increased prices v. food and service cutbacks). Doesn't appear to be a good idea to do both at the same time. Personally, I find Celebrity's current production shows to be weak, but put up with it because of the rest of the experience.
  12. Isn't that the truth. It's all about your expectations for the price you paid.
  13. Thanks for sharing this observation. I have heard that if you booked a suite in the MSC Yacht Club, it was a very good experience. Apparently not..
  14. It's all good as long as the ship stops in Nassau. 😉
  15. I chuckle when people say they cruise for the ports. Yes, if cruising in Europe. But not the Caribbean. How many times can you go to Nassau, Cozumel, or even St Thomas? in the Caribbean, I cruise for the ship, the food and the entertainment. In that order.
  16. It's a nice beach with some extras. I like it because the ship is right there, and you don't need to pay for a shore excursion to go to a beach.
  17. Obviously not pointing fingers are you. It just seems that excessive alcohol consumption is a big part of the cruise experience for many people. Not as much on Celebrity as on some other unnamed cruise lines.
  18. If I want to stay drunk for seven days, all I need to do is buy a few quarts of vodka. No need to pay for a cruise and pay $100 pp per day for a drinks package.
  19. Some people live with their calendar forever reading March 2020.
  20. Probably true for the people who cruise to drinks as many drinks possible during a day.
