I heart Sprouts but our closest one is like 45 minutes away. It's like the one store we don't have. Supposed to be rainy all weekend, maybe I'll venture down there and see what kinds of goodies I can find.

I love their veggies and fruit.. and their homemade sausage at the meat counter.

That’s a great idea, I’m going to try that. My husband is celiac so we eat allot of veggies and chicken.

You have just inspired me to meal plan.

Do you have a Sprouts or Trader Joe's near you? They always have good options for gluten-free - Trader Joe's prices are usually pretty low and Sprouts can have some great sales!

My home has 3 adults and we cook every meal to have 4-5 portions so that my DH and I have leftovers to take for lunch during the week. That alone has saved us a lot of money!

Re: MGM hackers - yeah, I'm a bit worried about player financial data being breached and shared with the bad guys, so I've been routinely reviewing various accounts for anything suspicious...but that said, it seems like virtually everything we do online now has been hacked (except maybe Cruise Critic!)...so I'm kind of numb to it.  Assuming others feel the same...

At first, I was worried about my data getting out there.. then I remembered I have an iPhone, so China already knows everything about me down to how many steps I take per day! Yeah.. just keep an eye on credit card accts that you've used there and you'll be good.

I'm headed to Vegas this weekend... I'll warm things up for ya! lol

Looks like MGM is finally getting their tech back in order.. can't believe all the stuff those hackers got into!

This.  I looked at my cc statements and the Costco receipts a couple of weeks ago and realized we're spending $1500/month on groceries for three adults and a 15 pound dog.  DS is on keto for his language so that makes things more expensive but still!!!!

It's the trend we've been seeing for the last 2 years... ever since we were released from the panda-lockdown. The best advice I can give you - shop in bulk when there are sales and get stuff packaged into single-meal portions and into the freezer. When chicken thighs are on sale, I buy a couple of big packages and portion them into bags. It's nice not having to buy meat for a few weeks.

Now that my mom has moved in with DH and me, we sit down on the weekend and meal plan using the weekly grocery ad. It's really the only way we can keep the grocery bill down. We've been able to keep our weekly grocery bill around $125/week, which isn't too bad for 3 adults!

Does the Skagway train still pick up right at the port? About how long is the walk from ship to train?

DH and I are headed to Vegas for a quick 3-day weekend coming up... I do love to "window" shop at Crystals next the Aria 😉

So I bought an outrageous-looking lamp that I fell in love with a couple months ago. Stupid expensive for a lamp, but so me. And SO our living room. And the perfect outrageous lamp for our living thing is something beyond anything I can resist or honestly feel any real guilt about.

Well... now I really need to see this fabulous lamp!

Not what anyone wants to happen on vacation. On our cruise last week we went to the port talk event and the cruise director repeatedly warned and stressed the dangers and begged please, please don't rent scooters at the ports.

On my Mexican Riveria cruise this summer, the CD said over and over and over again that we should not rent scooters.. they are very dangerous and they've seen way too many passengers with injuries in recent times.

That’s great. Did you have an offer you just didn’t know about that included drinks on us everywhere? Or you called about an offer and asked if they could expand drinks beyond casino? 39 cruises on Carnival, 25,000 points last cruise, a loss last time. Have never gotten a casino offer for drinks on us everywhere. (When I sail I’m always on a casino offer.) Not a big drinker but it would be a nice gesture (and a “free” coffee from Java Blue would be nice). Bon voyage!

My DH got an email about 2 weeks ago with the new casino offers that included the DOU everywhere. We already had 3 cruises booked for the next year so he called and got them to update to the latest offer. We saved $$$ and got free drinks for both of us!

Just want to give another thanks to you and the other posters.  Called today and managed to go from drinks in the casino to drinks anywhere for me and hubby (though he has to visit the cage once on board to get the offer).  We also got $200 each in fun play, which we didn't have before.  Couldn't upgrade to a balcony, but it's a 4-day cruise and we are more than happy with what we have.  So, again, thanks!!!

Yay!! That sounds like a great deal! Hope you have an awesome time and WIN a BIG jackpot!

  12. DH and I cruised on the Panorama in June and both earned a decent amount of points - him more than me, though. We didn't get any offers while on the ship (except a free steakhouse meal). About a week after getting off the ship, we got the 50% offer. Since then, we've only received decent offers on Australian cruises... which we aren't interested in right now. That was until Thursday - and we got a great casino offer! $100/pp plus free play and drinks on us everywhere. We actually called and got the offer put onto 2 of our upcoming cruises and saved about $5k. Make sure you check your account and see what you have!

We really like Tony. He’s the waiter who has been there for years. He always pretends he remembers us when we come back for the winter. he also makes Banana fosters at the table.very fancy! Lmao. We go about the same. We walk across.

Tony pretends he knows everyone! LOL
I also walk.. I don't ever want to be stuck in that traffic on the bridge!

  14. @MeganGC1983 I really enjoyed your Live - I'll be on the new Jubilee next year, so it was nice to hear your opinions on the size of the ship and all the drinks/food. Chris was the CD on the Panorama on my June cruise and I was underwhelmed! He was hardly out and about - we only ever saw him in the main theater at night and he didn't do a morning show! Maybe that is just how things are done on the Panorama?

Anyway, I'm so sorry to hear about your last evening and those awful kids. Not the way you want to end a nice vacation, for sure!

Now that you've been to Mr. Sanchos, how would you compare it to the other all-inclusives in Cozumel? I'm trying to decide which one to go to this winter...

Now We usually go to Jessica’s. One stop shopping.Pharmacy, restaurant, bar and musical entertainment. Plus bathrooms that flush. We aren’t sure what we pay for drinks. We think it’s 2.00 for a beer and 3.00 for a margarita that is too strong for me!

I love Jessica's! The staff is great and the huevos rancheros are the best I've ever had... I make it over there 4-6 times per year.

It's been years since I've been there - I wonder if "The Patio" still exists...

I live in McAllen - Progresso has a ton of "Patios" on the street now! A lot less parking and a lot of bars with patios with tables and chairs. The sidewalks are packed with vendors. I love to take friends and family when they visit - we go early before it gets too hot/crazy. We get breakfast at the pharmacy and then walk the streets and shop and drink cheap beers!

  17. A small, rechargeable fan will make your cabin more comfortable in hot weather. A tablet/Kindle with lots of books downloaded plus the ability to download more.

Do you listen to podcasts? Find a few that have daily or weekly episodes that you can enjoy while sunbathing on deck or walking the treadmill in the gym.
Take advantage of all the lectures and classes that are offered... Not only will you learn something new, but you may also make some new friends!
