  1. Might also help to keep drunksters from falling off the ship 🤐
  2. These should be the mini suites dealing with the high glass. All category C1.
  3. Check out the rendering. Seems to be the bow end of the Cabana Deck. You see the high glass on the right? If I get this and the deck plan for deck 9 right, 09106 should be further forward so you should not be having that stuff in front of your cabin.
  4. I hope I will be safe from Paparazzi-ism in 12423 - at least from above 😄 Excited to find out one day which special advantages category CA brings with it. Too much confusion at this point.
  5. How exactly can one get "upgraded"? Never happened to us.
  6. @mlmbar Wishing you a good ABC trip, anyway. Equinox is my baby darling and ever has been, but X just makes no sense these days. Hope they return to some normality with a next ship class in the 2030s.
  7. So, the new Sun Princess has finally switched me away from Celebrity. Never thought that would happen. X is just doing too many things wrong these days. I will be on 19th October 2024, living in the Sphere on deck 12 with my personal cabana. Wow. Can´t wait to see if I regret that or will change my cruise line for longer.
  8. I started X in 2012 in April. 10 nights Caribbean on the almost new Equinox balcony cabin deck 9. Price 1400 $ including solo surcharge. No typo. Food in MDR was above most restaurants on land. I estimate the same thing would go today for no less than 4000 $ if not 5000 on the Beyond. With most probably worse food than back then. Everybody has the right to have themselves ripped off. I just would feel like a total idiot. Even after signs of the times included.
  9. I hardly dare to type this, but eventually some cruise line decided to go back to taking efforts..
  10. So, I did the 2 nights only sample cruise from SOU to HAM the last two nights. Time to confront my prejudices: 1. Only mummys will be on board. HELL NO, all age groups were there. 2. The entertainment will be silent in order to not wake up those with walkers. HELL NO, the new show "Be Our Guest" might not cause heart attacks, but it is lively, energetic, stylish, somewhat funky, the cast is on par with or near the best - I liked it. Not mentioning The Revolvers here - I guess 60s music just can´t get someone from the 80s, they let me fall asleep. 3. The food will be somewhat suffering from the things going on in the industry. HELL NO, the buffet restaurant is by far enough to survive the cruise. It is the same food that you get in the MDR, so no need to go there unless you love MDRs. Food is not up to Celebrity inaugural cruises (and only those... sadly...) standards, but absolutely fine and I would say still somewhat over average. 4. Extra surcharge restaurants are not worth it. HELL NO, the Steakhouse at The Verandah was the only extra surcharge restaurant I ever found to be worth it. YUMMY. So, was this the perfect cruise? Naaaaahhhh, I did Celebrity too often back when they were still going full throttle. That is hard to match. But even though I found I might go try another somewhat less traditional cruise line in the future (which is my personal taste only), this cruise was surprisingly good and the ship in surprisingly good condition for an almost 20 years old hard beaten ocean liner. If you are not getting bored easily - go go go QM2 😊
  11. Just off Queen Mary 2. Positively surprised witth the food.. Well, the MDR food is the same food as everywhere else on the ship EXCEPT I tried The Verandah Steakhouse. That one is where Celebrity was back in 2012 when I started crusing. Just wow. Which is not to say QM2 standard food is bad. Still is was better than my last Equinox cruise.
  12. I will do a 2 nights QM2 cabin filler cruise. Bullseye - second night is called "Gala night - optional"... My first time on Cunard. Are there any areas on QM2 on such a night where I can stick with smart casual wear and get some food? Or would all the ship hate me...?
  13. That is exactly what I guess Carnival Caribbean cruises look like every evening.
  14. Celebrity ignoring environmental issues has me booking the Sun Princess for the somewhat greener fuel usage. LNG is not near to emission free but better than the stuff that Celebrity burn even in their latest ships. I got myself a cabana mini suite, and I have a feeling I might love it. Open to switch from Celebrity to Princess after many years if I like it. "Lutoff-Perlo Cruise Lines" got on my nerves too much lately.
  15. I'd go for S-Class. More homesy, more cuddly, more sofa.
  16. In another line's subforum I am getting quite a lot of "we do not care about paying more for less, we are very low maintenance". I suppose those are the customers Lutoff-Perlo dreamt of.
  17. That is what I felt like last time on Equinox. It was more like a food court kind of experience.
  18. Thank you all for your posts. Seems to me booking Celebrity these days is a trial and error based endeavour when it comes to food. Booking Celebrity without bringing premium expectations with it, feels a bit odd. Maybe a good time to try their main competitors when it is try and error anyway. I never tried Princess, I might give them a shot.
  19. Thanks for your inputs, I am checking itineraries and might give NCL another shot.
  20. I guess I liked NCL well enough last time because I was sure they would be absolute rubbish. I hardly had enough money for a cruise back then, so I actually expected the worst but wanted to cruise by any means. So, it was easy for them to win me over. As said above, especially Entertainment was great. With the exception of washy washy shaky shaky...
  21. I did the maiden voyage on Edge @KKB. Production show was really sick 🥳, food as well. Guess they gave their All for that introduction. However, I did not make friends with that ship class. Not "homesy" enough compared to my beloved Equinox. Just ice cold design and hardly anywhere to cuddle. NCL Prima seems to be the best new compromise between both worlds. I am just scared about really bad food...
  22. My favourite cruise line used to be Celebrity. Especially the Equinox. Well, food and service spiraled down, prices and bling spiraled up. Second favourite cruise line but done only once when my budget was smaller - NCL, did the Getaway few years ago. Loved it for the entertainment (felt en par with Celebrity) and the inside solo cabin area, not so much for the food. But as food is down on Celebrity, anyway... I am impressed with the newest NCL ships. Question: If you were me, would you give NCL a new shot? Mainly talking about the Caribbean here. Thanks for your thoughts.
  23. Can't decide. Food was unsatisfying last spring on Equinox, and I am not sure about if I like the new ships. Equinox is my baby. If at all, I guess I would do the ABC Islands.
