  1. Worked for you but not for me. Mines November 2024. Only minimum deposit. Tried chat, tried calling, and tried cruise consultant. All got the same answer. New bookings only. The cruise consultant was the best. Issue was we booked an accessible mini. It was fared as a standard mini because none were available in standard mini. When they tried to refare the price actually went up. I was able to rebook at reduced fare, then canceled the previous booking. Didn't make sense and still doesn't. But easier than figuring out the new And old Princess apps! 🤣
  2. This whole thing about the Houthi attacks in the Red Sea brings back memories of the Somali pirate attacks back in the mid 2000's. I remember the 2005 attack on the Seabourn Pride. We had been on the sister ship, the Legend. On our Azamara Quest cruise our CD, Tony Markey recalled that day as CD on that ship. What the captain and his crew did to keep them from boarding the ship was truly remarkable. Using water cannons and ear piercing technology to drive them away. https://www.google.com/search?q=pirates+attack+cruise+ship+2005&sca_esv=25e166837710fba2&sca_upv=1&rlz=1C1GCEA_enUS1047US1047&sxsrf=ACQVn08zmDW2en7azij8npjG1GwopdXQBg%3A1704844838420&ei=Jt6dZbKmGfOUwbkP3tSJwA4&ved=0ahUKEwiy0fb3wdGDAxVzSjABHV5qAugQ4dUDCBA&uact=5&oq=pirates+attack+cruise+ship+2005&gs_lp=Egxnd3Mtd2l6LXNlcnAiH3BpcmF0ZXMgYXR0YWNrIGNydWlzZSBzaGlwIDIwMDUyBRAhGKABMgUQIRigAUjkJlDDCljyF3ABeAGQAQCYAX2gAbQDqgEDMi4yuAEDyAEA-AEBwgIKEAAYRxjWBBiwA8ICChAjGIAEGIoFGCfCAgUQABiABMICCxAAGIAEGIoFGIYD4gMEGAAgQYgGAZAGCA&sclient=gws-wiz-serp#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:39757744,vid:1SsY7nEuJDs,st:0
  3. This looks like a great option for us as well. We are doing a TA from Rome to FLL and plan on spending a week driving through Umbria and Tuscany before boarding the ship in Civitavecchia. We both are disabled and require the use of mobility scooters. We can fit both scooters in an SUV with the seats folded down and still have room for a small suitcase. We can have our larger suitcases sent Luggage Forward without the hassle of trying to handle them. Thanks!
  4. I stand corrected, It appears that the Grand Class and the Gem Class ships DO NOT have the second fold down rail.
  5. I believe that is an ADA requirement We are in an accessible mini-suite and found a youtube video that showed it. I found a accessible balcony stateroom on the Majestic that shows it
  6. Yep, I found that out for myself this week. However, you can have two cabins booked for the same cruise. I had noticed that the fare for our cruise had gone down in price last week and there was a cabin still in our category available. I could not get Princess to re-fare. I had to book the new one online, then later canceled the original booking.
  7. Thanks! We got them added. What is strange is we can't add them to our reservations in the crown grill. They show as companions and I check the box to add them. Then I get to the payment box and when i select and book, i get an error message each time.
  8. Are you Platinum or Elite? Do you have the Premier package? Maybe we were able to because we are Platinum or because we have the Premier package. Our cruise is this November.
  9. Go Princess.com and log in using your user id and password. User is either your email or booking number. Then click on manage booking. Here, you need to enter your name, date of birth, and booking number. Then choose the option at the top, check-in (even if you have completed that on the app) It will ask you to download the app either from google or apple. Right below that is a box to take you to the web version. Click there. It will take you to the check in screen. If you scroll down you will find a Mine My Way option. Click there and you will be able to choose your dining times for each day either in the MDR or Specialty Restaurants. Hope this helps.
  10. The price of our Regal cruise went down in price. I tried to get it refared, but was told the price actually went up and not down. The only choice I had was to rebook online and then cancel the original booking. The CVP was very helpful, but I found it odd to have to do it that way. We were booked in an accessible cabin C432 and end d up in an accessible cabin C433. Anyone else ever run into this?
  11. We did find the theater was very crowded on one of our CP cruise. We were asked after the cruise how we found the shows. I replied that we found most outstanding. What we really meant was that we were out standing. 😀
  12. We have the Regal booked for this November and agree that changing this port to Belize (a tender port) is problematic for us. We both require the use of mobility scooters to get around. Mahogany Bay at least gives us some access.
  13. I agree with Ken. We find both Princess and Holland America to be competitors with Celebrity. They are all competing for the same dollars. But, they all have their differences, not only between the lines, but also between individual ships within the line. When we decide on which line and which ship to sail on, we look at a number of things in making our decision. Overall value, adding in for various perks, itinerary (less so in the Caribbean since we have been to most of the ports), the length of the cruise (preferring a minimum of 10 days to a maximum of 21), ease of traveling to and from the embarkation and disembarkation points, and time of year the cruise takes place. We also have a major factor that applies to some. We have to sail in an accessible suite. Example: We were looking for a TA cruise for fall of 2025. All of our favorite 6 star inclusive lines, were all out of our budget and had limited or no accessible suites. That left Celebrity, Princess, and HAL. We ended up with HAL. Celebrity wasn't even close for similar itinerary, number of days, and inclusive packages. The 20% surcharge for a refundable fare really killed it. Princess was closer, but the balcony and mini-suites were all sold out.
  14. No. Just make sure when you take your photo to include your Head and Shoulders.🤪
  15. The Nieuw Statendam just came out of drydock in November with significant changes to meet future ADA compliances, such as automatic doors that open to venues as well as to accessible staterooms and bathrooms. I believe this meets the upcoming 2027 compliance standards. Therefore, I am fairly certain that the Nieuw Amsterdam went through the same update.
  16. To close timewise. I wouldn't risk it. This is what we did for our Volendam cruise. We spent the night at the Omni by Petco Stadium for one night. It was pretty easy, but the cruise was a 4 night cruise and we only had carry on suitcases. We took the train to Santa Fe Station in San Diego. We walked across the street to the trolley and took it to the Gas Light Station. Right by our hotel. Then the following morning, we took the trolley back, and then walked the short distance to the cruise terminal.
  17. We have a mobility scooter that is really lightweight and durable. The frame only weighs 22 lbs and overall weight is 33, and the width is 21.5 in. You might want to check it out. https://travelscootusa.com/the-escape/
  18. Bringing this back up. We recently did a cruise on the Seabourn Ovation. Both my wife and I are recently disabled and we require the use of mobility scooters. They have a good selection of accessible suites. We particularly like suite 550. We found it very spacious at over 500 sf and there are no steps to get into the bathroom or accessible shower, and has a ramp out to the veranda. We found Seabourn a bit more relaxed than Silversea and on par with Regent. We also have booked two larger ships. We are going on the Regal Princess in an accessible mini-suite which measures 455 sf. Also, we are going on the HAL Nieuw Statendam in an accessible veranda suite that measures just under 400 sf. The thing I like about this ship, it just went through refurbishment where ADA additions were completed to the 2027 specifications. All accessible staterooms and public facilities have automatic door openings. I hope this may be of help so someone.
  19. Just checked our Regal cruise for next November on the new app. CG is $39 and SB is $35.
  20. We have booked a TA on the Nieuw Statendam 15 days from Rome to FLL and we are thinking of adding CO to our booking. Because we are in an accessible Verandah, we aren't sure the room upgrade will work for us. Trying to weigh the other CO benefits to determine if it is worth it. We didn't realize that the charge for CO wasn't refundable, if for some reason we needed to cancel. We always get insurance, but usually add it only closer to final payment and with an outside agency.
  21. Yes, if it is $90 per person for the week. On our cruise for next November on the Regal it was $63 more per night per person. $882 was a no for us. $180 would be a no brainer.
  22. I got the same thing. It showed me in the blue lane. I filled it out even though we likely will not use. Once i did, I was prompted to order my medallion, even though i had already done so. Now showing green lane. All of my other info transferred just fine.
  23. Mine didn't show a charge. Perhaps because i have the premier package.
  24. We have quite the dilemma. We are booked in a mid ship accessible mini suite. Reserve Collection was not available for our accessible stateroom. Our friends are in a full suite and they obviously have RC privileges which include dining. There doesn't seem to be a way to add RC to our booking. It appears that you can only do RC in a handful of pre-selected staterooms that are not accessible. We are already paying extra for our mid ship location. Is there a way to pay extra for the RC dining privileges? I can't find any options for it anywhere. Thanks in advance.
