  1. Neither one are private. They are not covered and the cabin up above can look down to yours. They do have two loungers.
  2. Is one better than the other? Also which one if any are easier to navigate? My wife and I both require the use of mobility scooters, so a more secluded area that is easy to get to is a real plus. On Seabourn it was a breeze. We had a table that was by the back entrance to the dining room and could park our scooters very close to our table.
  3. Sorry, just to correct my mistake, on Princess it is called EZ check. It is Luggage Direct on Holland and Luggage Valet on Celebrity
  4. As i understand it, there is also Luggage Direct. They will collect your luggage in FLL from the airline and deliver it to your stateroom. I believe the cost is $35. They will do the reverse on the return. You put the bags out the night before disembarking and won't touch them again until you collect them at your home airport.
  5. I got it. I was actually responding to Fitzroy post #11 and #19 calling it Luggage Forward.
  6. Just to clear some confusion. Luggage Direct is different from Luggage Forward. Luggage Direct is from your stateroom to the airline direct and you collect your baggage at your home airport. Luggage Forward is from your home to the ship or from your ship to your home.
  7. Yes, Luggage Direct. I thought I remembered you posting about it on your Live From NS Rome to FLL thread. Thanks for confirming.
  8. Oh no! I wonder if it is the same with HAL. We have a TA booked for next year and fly home on American and was hoping to use Luggage Direct. Same as Princess EZ check. My wife and I both use mobility scooters and handling luggage is a real struggle. 🤞
  9. We have booked a TA crossing FCO to FLL and will be flying home on American. Is luggage direct service available? We are both mobility challenged and use scooters and this would be a huge benefit for us.
  10. We take these. Always protects them in luggage. https://www.amazon.com/Jet-Bag-Bold-ABSORBANT-Protective/dp/B004FLK2IU/ref=asc_df_B004FLK2IU/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=198066647039&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=13395757444212802714&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1026607&hvtargid=pla-391437135086&mcid=dbe556fc8d753d60962fded9f1e5508e&gclid=CjwKCAiA_OetBhAtEiwAPTeQZ_1qrJPXcPXSarPivr-GhNVYttYnFeMa4rsfbPIj4bHl-24B57NXvxoCRckQAvD_BwE&th=1
  11. EZ check if you can. Princess will know if available for your flight. If available, they will issue your boarding passes, collect your luggage the night before and ship it to the airport and you won't see it until you arrive at your home airport.
  12. We do exactly the same. I don't worry to much what the app says. So much easier.
  13. So true! Our travel mates have very different schedules from us. They are early risers and we are not, they are early to bed, and we stay up late. They like to eat dinner 5:00-5:30 and we like to dine around 7:30. On our upcoming Regal cruise we have booked a table in the CG a couple of nights for 6:30, which we agreed was a good compromise. The other nights we will be on our own.
  14. We have booked 8132, which is an accessible verandah for a crossing. Anyone have issues in that area?
  15. Quite the lesson on how to debone a fish. We were on Seabourn in the Thomas Keller Grill last April and my wife had the dover sole. Same presentation at the table, but with butchered results.
  16. 3:00 set sail 2:00 all onboard 10:30-11:00 embarkation begins. Watching Sky Princess on Port Everglades webcam right now.
  17. I feel for everyone booked on the SP on the inaugural cruise as well as subsequent cruises. You plan that far in advance and two weeks before you find out it isn't happening. We have had two cruises canceled before, but at least they were several months out.
  18. My wife and I both have mobility issues. I can manage a few stairs and can get in and out of a tender, but my wife cannot without a lot of assistance. It is extremely stressful for her, therefore we forego tender ports and just consider it as a day to enjoy the ship without the crowds. I also agree with Rick, that it would be a real safety hazard to attempt to carry an individual onto a tender.
  19. One time we cut getting back to the ship pretty close. We were on the Ruby Princess in Livorno. Our private tour got us and three other couples back about 5 minutes before the all onboard time. One guy kept saying they're going to leave us, they're going to leave us. I said calm down Ted. We are not going to be left and we won't be the last ones onboard. As we are getting close to the ship, we see no other people. We get to the gangway, they checked of our names and pulled the gangway up right after we boarded.
  20. Good point! It has been awhile since we have used it and the little grey cells, just aren't as sharp as they used to be.
