We moved 20 years ago to TX from NY and everything went smoothly. No broker fee, no additional cost. Movers packed up our kitchen items, and we even paid for our 2nd car to be shipped as well. Everything was listed plainly in the contract. I don't recall how long it took to be delivered, maybe a week or so and it certainly was in the time frame promised. I don't remember who the movers were or how we chose them but ultimately it was a good choice and a stress-free move. @firefly333 Jane, I hope things go smoothly with delivery. I'm sorry you're getting slammed with extra costs.

Yes! I'd love to meet my Rockland County connection in person! I am so glad to hear you're going on your first cruise in a while. Others have said it best. Good to be with friends and good to be alone when needed. BTW a friend of mine has a house on LBI. @Sunshine3601 Debbie doesn't know them. I won't post their last name but they're Stacie and Ken from Rockland County; 3 children, grown now with kids of their own. She's an interior designer, he had or has a furniture business. I think they're in their 60s. That's all I'm willing to post. 🤐

Stay positive and motivated. That movement will show up before you know it. George just might be wrong. For my PT, in the beginning, I was advised to take pain meds 30 minutes before each session. After a few short sessions those pain meds were put away, hopefully for good. Good luck! @Sea Dog Greg hang in there. Wishing the best for your total recovery on all fronts.

Flamingos too? Really? 😲 Hope your poison ivy is gone! @Luckynana Maryann, congrats on William's achievement. I enjoyed looking at his handsome picture twice. Hope your eye feels better. @firefly333 Jane, @bobmacliberty gave some good advice. Live in your place for a bit getting used to the vibe before running out to buy more furniture. When we moved, our movers took a couch we didn't want anymore. Hope everything goes smoothly for you. Take a deep breath, relax and enjoy your new condo. Love the balcony!

Wishing those 22 days of non weight bearing passes quickly. I was non weight bearing for 6 weeks when I had surgery for a broken ankle 2 years ago. Hoping your PT is successful and that you'll be on both feet without any aid. Please don't feel guilty about George taking care of you. As Jack did for me, it was done out of love.

Another Dallas area resident here with a weather update, especially for @firefly333, Jane, who got out just in time. Torrential horizontal rain, wind, flooding yesterday, sirens to alert folks of either tornadoes/extreme t-storms. Scary. Never lost power. Jack and I tried to stay calm until the siren ended which was probably less than 10 minutes. So glad our Dallas area friends in here were spared any major damage. @GeorgeC Good luck with Shelagh's hand surgery tomorrow.

I just checked my Celebrity status and listing is weird. 2 are correct but I don't understand the 3rd listing for 1970 which never took place. I also remember cruising to Bermuda 2 years in a row, not 4 years apart. With the 2013 point conversion I have 90 club points. I'm Select status whatever that means. 7 Night Bermuda Cruise Horizon Jun 30 — Jul 7, 2001 Points earned: 1 7 Night Bermuda Cruise Zenith Jul 5, 1997 Points earned: 1 Celebrity Cruise Nov 5, 1970 Points earned: 1

Happy Birthday to Jack and Ryan! I remember the day my daughter received her driver's license. Jack and I knew there would be some sleepless nights in our future! May your Jack and all your other grands who drive, have safe journeys. I was glad to read that you came through your laser procedure with flying colors. You must be relieved it's over. @DaniDanielle Marietta, congratulations on your grandkids graduations. Your family deserves much happiness.

Glad you didn't get much damage. When we were home owners, it was always a fear. Since we're now in an apt. building and haven't gone out, not sure about surrounding damage. There is some water damage near our elevator extending down some feet in the hallway. Very powerful rain and wind. Plants brought in from our balcony and the American flags affixed on the railing are flapping like crazy. Lull in the rain now with more to come later in the day. BTW, I am getting double pages on this thread again. Same posts on 4904 and 4905.
