  1. It seems that in the (near) future Crystal will re-instate the ability to book a cruise yourself on their website, so this shouldn't be a long-term issue.
  2. Combining the excellent suggestions from Vince and Keith, moving the robes to the bathroom (either folded on the shelves or hanging on the door hooks) plus replacing the thick wooden hangers with wire hangers or thin plastic hangers from home should ameliorate much of the problem.
  3. Sounds like they gave you excellent advice. If they were rude to you, that's another issue. Would anyone walk into the Restaurant at 11PM and expect to be served a dinner?
  4. Aha, mystery solved! When I came back from our last SB cruise several of my beloved Tommy Hilfiger boxers had suddenly lost their waistband elasticity 😢. I was pretty sure it was from the SB laundry, but now you have convinced me. Now to find a good lawyer...
  5. Well, aliaschief's location is clearly indicated above as Florida and arzz's location is clearly indicated above as the Chicago area, so yes, your assumption is correct. 😉
  6. @johng75370 Kudos for doing the right thing! Given the circumstances, were you given a full refund, a FCC, or were you able to get compensated by insurance?
  7. Last month on the Ovation, we had concerns about some delicate items. We mentioned this to our cabin attendant, who contacted the laundry, who sent someone to our cabin to evaluate what they could do. They told us they would flag our items and wash them in cold water and then hang them to dry, and everything turned out fine. We were very impressed that they would go out of their way to do this. We also know that we probably can't count on things working out this well every time because they are so very busy.
  8. Hopefully, having significantly fewer passengers onboard will improve things.
  9. I believe it would be on Deck 5, slightly aft of midship.
  10. Just make sure that the price of the cruise hasn't increased so much that the FCC will be negated. Unlikely, but possible.
  11. If a couple purchases a window double on a guarantee basis, could it turn out that they would be placed in a window single? If a window single is the same as a window double (except for the location), what would prevent Crystal from doing this? P.S. Outstanding to see you back, Vince!
  12. I agree with you 100%. This is a photo I took on Serenity's promenade a few years ago of two men walking a breast.
  13. Were they rude by virtue of using profanity or by speaking to you in a hostile tone? Otherwise, it doesn't sound to me that they were rude if they were trying to point you in the right direction. You might think it is trivial, but as a runner, it is problematic and unsafe when I am dealing with people going both directions at the same time. The promenade can accommodate quite a few people if everyone goes the proper direction. If some decide that they want to go opposite to the flow, it becomes a problem.
  14. And I just checked the invoice I got yesterday for a 2024 sailing and it is 6 months. Would anyone know why there would be this difference?
  15. I had the same experience yesterday...booked on Serenity for next June/July and received 2 1/2% Crystal Society discount.
  16. There is a licensed physician on board. If you give him/her a list of your medications and tell them what your medical diagnoses are, they will be able to make the determination whether Paxlovid is appropriate for you. If one doesn't trust the physician with this fairly routine matter, perhaps one shouldn't be on the ship. After all, there are many much more serious things that can befall you while on the ship, and that very same physician will be in charge of your care.
  17. For sure. And if the day comes when Seabourn starts to include excursions (or airfare), we'll seriously start looking elsewhere. Hope it doesn't come to that.
  18. The blue jackets with orange trim that were given out last year are much more than vanity wear. It was all I needed for my Alaska cruise last fall (end of September and beginning of October). I also brought it along as my only jacket on my 2-week Iceland cruise last month and it was the only jacket I needed. I'm not sure if the new jackets are different, but the ones that were used last year had three layers, were wind- and rain-resistant, and were lightweight, so easy to travel with. You certainly couldn't use them as ski parkas, but they are more than adequate for the usual Alaska itineraries...and they might even help you survive a summer in the Outer Sunset!
  19. That's exactly what happened with Seabourn: After recently going paperless (and therefore necessitating use of the app for virtually all information), so many passengers asked for the printed schedules etc. to continue that they have now resumed delivering them each evening to every cabin. But that only happened because passengers complained/asked that the printed information be resumed.
  20. Why would an iPad be necessary? Isn't the device in the room basically used for Crystal-related activities such as excursions, menus, daily schedules? Just about everyone already has their own smart device, so maybe I'm missing something, but what added value would an in-room iPad have?
  21. Peanuts. Anyone remember this Crystal excursion? https://uk.news.yahoo.com/most-extravagant-cruise-excursion-ever-091100870.html?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAADjvLhXxJ7X44VroTmnnS0ht_2DXHDAMLZunf6eazbPxwfmDwQoMgkKvHQRyq3UDsJ7yQOqFZAWcaZ3_Itjfj6JPATCBvRadEPLKcQcWeHj-T-KG0JxDSPAzqHS65x8T0_fCFvSNARNlgdnNrTth5Q1-VO-ek1TKdXLd-8H2d7E-
  22. @jondfk I hope you speak both to the F&B manager and to the maître d’ regarding these totally unacceptable experiences. I would also be tempted to email Seabourn CEO Natalya Leahy, who apparently is taking a hands-on approach and just might be able to address this situation. I'm sorry you've had to put up with such horrible service and hope that things will turn around soon.
  23. Great advice. Even better...take two test kits per person because if you are symptomatic and the first test is negative, you should do a second test 48 hours later.
