Muster station location on GTY stateroom

Bookmarking this for future reference, thanks! But what is the benefit to Royal to hold back the cabin numbers if the GTY cabins are already assigned? -
Great Stirrup Cay Villas: Lagoon or Ocean?
FreestyleNovice replied to LLCoolDoc's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Perhaps it’s hard to beat Cococay’s pool, which is supposed to be the largest or something along that way open pool in the Caribbean. Thank you other users for confirming the pool, interesting news! -

Amsterdam Schipol Airport overnight?
FreestyleNovice replied to honeyb2's topic in British Isles/Western Europe
This. As written by @Dutch_Travelgirl, the Schiphol Oost area has literally nothing to offer. It really just is a few hotels, lots of (airline) office and hangars and warehouses. Nothing in the direct vicinity, you will be bored within five minutes and the only restaurant would probably be the hotel restaurant. I would like to suggest the terminal hotels, there are a few better dinner options at the Plaza than the mentioned fast food like Italian at Per Tutti, La Place etc. See https://www.schiphol.nl/en/at-schiphol/eat-and-drink/facilities/?side=landside If you would like to stay off the airport and given the shuttle time for the before mentioned hotel I would suggest looking into some of the smaller (non chain/family/mom-and-pop run) hotels in place like Aalsmeer or Hoofddorp city center. Aalsmeer has some nice bistro restaurants but less lodging. Hoofddorp is more modern with more hotels. Nothing out of the ordinary or special but you will be in a real neighbourhood instead of an airport lot with those. A wider selection of restaurants, an evening stroll, perhaps to visit a shop or get some snacks/groceries, etc. If you like Marriot you might want to look into Courtyard by Marriott Amsterdam Airport, Hoofddorp. Although not in the nearby center it has a good offering of on site restaurants, a park and nearby restaurants. Another alternative to the airport Plaza is the A4 highway "brugrestaurant", bridge restaurant(s) with modern hotel. Food offer is a bit more truck stop/fast food than the airport but with a shuttle and the hotel offering more facilities (i.e. a more reasonable sized pool, fitness, etc) it might be worth consideration if you are looking for efficiency. There are some hidden gems like a beach hotel at Zandvoort, hotels with a view of the Dutch landscape, lakes or tulip fields or quaint old city towns like Haarlem, Leiden within 20 minutes driving time but you will need to elaborate before we go into that. Feel free to ask anything but please, please skip Schiphol Oost. Even if you have been to Amsterdam the outskirts of Amsterdam have more to offer and meet your requirements than that deserted piece of the airport.. -
Our Vibe passes were canceled 24hrs prior to sailing

OP is now battling the Vibe wall and bouncers. -

Ditto. Perhaps it might help OP's case if Vibe is blocked off/rented out and save some proof (pictures) of that. Despite the "glitch", enjoy your cruise OP. Perhaps you can arrange some last minute ship's excursions or through Shorex.. Group and still make the most of the cruise. -
Great Stirrup Cay today January 12, 2024

If only there would be plans for a pier.. -
I am confused. Your signature says "Celebrity Silhouette 3/16 - Spring Break for Adults", I hope that was a chartered cruise because Celebrity is far from what you are looking for! If I bypass any potential upside down pineapples.. Fun in terms of Carnival cruise Fun or perhaps adults only with Virgin? Other than that, you are a loyal RCCL cruiser, already sailed Allure (Oasis class) so if the ship is the destination; Icon of the Seas, departing Sat 21 Dec 2024. And last but not least Norwegian might be a good choice, with lots of entertainment and dining options on their mega ships.

I am a big fan of the Classic emojis, if I insert them through the pull down menu (and scroll aaaalll the way down) it appears right, when posted it skips to a new text line? And editing a post won't help, what is happening? In the editor: This would be a sentence with a classic smiley. -smiley goes here- When posted: This would be a sentence with a classic smiley. -smiley is posted here-

KEUKENHOF: FESTIVAL OF TULIPS
FreestyleNovice replied to emarismom's topic in British Isles/Western Europe
From Rotterdam cruise terminal to the Keukenhof will be about an hour each way, especially with a bus and some Keukenhof traffic congestion. Which will leave 3½ hours with your ship's excursion, this might suit you but DYI would leave more time. 1. Public transport is good here, you will have to take a tram/metro or taxi to Rotterdam Centraal Station, take a train to Leiden Centraal Station, buy a combi ticket for admittance and board a dedicated bus to Keukenhof as said by @Cotswold Eagle. 2. Arrange private transport, Google any "taxi" or Uber. Try contacting a taxi from the Leiden/Lisse area as they might be more interested as they can spent their time in between the rides better and could be more flexible than someone from Rotterdam who might need to wait. In the park there's no need for a tour guide, just roam around, it's just transport that you will need to visit the Keukenhof from Rotterdam. Enjoy The Netherlands! -

One more thing, the CruiseHive article mentions this: "From an economic perspective, the project is expected to create significant employment opportunities during its construction phase. Moreover, the anticipated increase in guest volumes – from 286,357 in 2019 to a projected 714,000 after the new pier has been constructed – will have a positive effect on the local economy," Which I can't find in the original NV2AGroup's announcement. The local economy's benefit after construction probably has to be taken with a grain of salt, perhaps a double revenue in straw hats for the lucky few who get to have a stable on the market. Unless it becomes like the out of control tradesmen at Labadee (RCCL). I do welcome a pier but "the local economy" and a cruise line's private island on steroids, hmm..

"NCL is embarking on design and construction of Phase III at Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas. Facilities include a new pier which can accommodate two passenger ships simultaneously, water attractions, pools, a lazy river and new beaches. A new Bahamian Village will be constructed with food and beverage venues for guests as well as dormitories for service staff along with supporting infrastructure for water, sewer, and power systems." It's there, on the website from those who did the previous expansion and not just CruiseHive. Only not sure how old that announcement exactly is. At least it was after Silver Cove. But.. pre-Covid, post-Covid or yesterday..?
-
Understandable and I have to agree but the latest expansion took some good cuts out of the shore/rocks to make new beaches and shores, I am not sure if that's precious coral reef or just hard Bahamian rock but I guess they environmentally can. Ditto for the wooded area, lots extra roads and new buildings. So is GSC an protected reef/area or are we believing NCL marketing it is? Anchoring on the same spot for years in a row can also cause quite some drag damage to the sea bed (if precious/fragile!), so there will always be a reason to spin things around and "justify" a pier I guess.
