  1. Which gives me hope for a doable South Pacific segment for myself and Marital Unit in 2026. A or O class regular cabins are fine for us, whereas regular cabins on R class are not. Exciting times!
  2. The O board has certainly matured somewhat in terms of being realistic about the product. I’d consider myself a semi cheerleader - I’ve had mostly exceptional experiences, along with a couple of awful experiences. I am realistic about the product, it suits my needs. There are some prickly pears on this board, but for the most part people are pretty reasonable. It’s certainly less of a bear pit than it was pre covid.
  3. Just an update. I emailed pretty much as soon as I replied with the above message and special requests have already confirmed they have made a note for my trip! Impressive!
  4. This was a timely reminder for me to mail my root beer request to RSSC in good time for them to stock ready for my Jan 24 cruise so thank you!
  5. Thanks for this info. Does the above still stand if you have a future cruise deposit that was booked onboard? I understand one of the perks of that was that you could make one change?
  6. There is a bit of a storm headed your way tonight, not sure which direction you are headed in, but might make for a bumpy night - all good fun though! Have a fab cruise!
  7. Riviera is going to Asia I believe - if I remember correctly from the future cruise presentation I went to in December. I am curious to see if the rumours about a different ship doing the ATW in 2026 are correct. if we have an O class going to the South Pacific I would be very interested, I can’t afford to shell out on a PH and decent airfare for that region, but would happily slum it in a verandah on an O or A class. Anything below PH is a hard no for us on an R class - I would consider a solo fare on an R but I don’t think Marital Unit would be very happy 😉
  8. They do and I happen to like the location more than on O class ships - you can get to it far easier than on the O class ships and apart from missing a view and the chance to sit outside if you wish to it’s a more sociable space. Also the actual serving area is less of a tight squeeze. Whilst I like the O class ships, I love the R class, it’s just a more comfy ship. I will admit I don’t know how I would feel about missing out on Red Ginger on anything but Sirena, it’s not a huge loss, I would forego it to be on an R class.
  9. Hi there, The search feature on the Oceania board no longer allows you to search via that forum only, and the Boolean strings no longer appear to work. I notice that on other forums the search has the correct drop down that allows searching in that forum only, but this is not present (for me at least) in the Oceania forum. Please can we get that functionality back as searching via booleans even does not bring back useful results. Thanks! Heidi
  10. Gosh I am so sorry this is happening, and I hope they get it sorted for you (and everyone else!) soon. I would be taking my duvet onto a deck area or the balcony if it were me tonight and it wasn’t fixed.
  11. Yeah I am not holding out any hope then if we do get a call with an offer to upgrade I will weigh it up. We always book a grade we are happy with and don’t bet on the upgrade fairy or even the upgrade cashier LOL. I did just wonder as all the other grades apart from the top suites are wide open apart from mine which is waitlisted. We will see…happy with where we are, but you never know.
  12. when we booked we were asked to specify if we wanted the option for an upgrade if one came available.
  13. So a sort of related question - we have a booking in a cabin grade, and this grade is now waitlisted. We ticked the magic upgrade button to see if anything would happen. What happens in this case, do they move the booked cabins to make room for the GTY bookings first? I realise it is somewhat of a dark art and the peculiarities of it are not particularly clear, just wondering on people’s experiences.
  14. I got a 2024 brochure last night
  15. I’d see if you can get a day room at a hotel on South beach or something?
  16. I believe the booking date is one year from the purchase of the cert, the journey date doesn’t have to be within a certain date - as i have one free change and that isn’t the case then I can book something then change it when the new stuff comes out… Edited: I just checked the cert - booking must be made within one year but trip can be outside those dates and is not given any specific timescale.
  17. I think the issue is that O has so many repeaters that they know the good cabins so what is left to go to gty is always the not so good. FWIW I like the ocean views on O class ships and as long as it wasn’t a gty I would go for that grade again, they sell out very quickly.
  18. I am waiting on the 2025 to come out in September/Oct as we are booked up next year in that case.
  19. We did a guarantee for our first O cruise - cabin grade was Oceanview - we got that, but it was a connecting room so noisy. The dregs are what ends up in the guarantees.
  20. Oh thats a bit pants, btw Marital Unit is a he, I am a girl - I think everyone on this board thinks I am a guy, not sure why 🙂 Back to the drawing board for this certificate then.
  21. I can’t even remember if I have asked this before, but here goes. Sorry if I have, We have a future cruise certificate deposit we got from our Christmas cruise. The deposit is for two people. If I find a solo fare I want to use it on (Marital Unit won’t want to do the cruise I want to do), can I use both deposits on the cert towards the solo cruise? Thanks!
  22. We are travelling biz, hope we don’t get hit by these probs 😞
  23. Just do your own ideal routing, then ask what O would offer. Compare and contrast. I would always book my own (saying that I have a TAP flight back from Rio next year, which I may live to regret). Control your own travel, I have heard horror stories of O just not being accessible when plans go awry.
