  1. I am taking a back2back cruise in July on Carnival Pride out of Baltimore, MD. My question concerns the guests that will be traveling with me on the cruises. I will have a different roommate for each cruise. For the first cruise, my mother will be traveling with me, and for the second cruise, a friend. The issue is that the person who will be dropping off my friend for the second cruise, will also be the person picking up my mother from the first cruise. Now the normal dis-embarkment process requires that all passengers to be off of the ship by 12pm or earlier, and the embarkment process does not normally begin until 1:30pm. Ideally, I'd like to have either a late check out for my mom or early check-in for my friend, so that neither will have to wait around in the terminal for too long. I'm not sure if this is possible. To make it more complicated, my mother is elderly and will need assistance to dis-embark. I believe will be required to go through customs with other back2back cruisers, but I may need to help her. I know that this is a lot, but if anyone can advise on how to best handle this situation, or has had this experience, please let me know how you handled it. Thanks!:)

I think they walk b2b people off the boat thru customs then right back on again so you should try speaking with customer service and I'm sure they can do something to help you out.

  2. Hi :)

I also use the Belkin. No cords & no issues with customs. I simply

pack it in my carry-on along with my camera equipment..

    :)

Put me down for another belkin user. Never had any issues with security.

  3. We are paid in full for our upcoming cruise in August on the Carnival Dream.

I have been able to get 2 price drops since then which is cool !

My TA had given us OBC before the price drops. Now with this latest price drop she is pulling the OBC she was going to give us.

So my question is: Do TA's get their commission when the cruise is booked or when final payment is made?

If after they get their commission, if there is a price drop that Carnival approves, does Carnival take back commission?

    Just curious.

From what I gather, Carnival pays the TA a % based on your fare.

So if your fare keeps dropping, their commission also drops.

Prob what your agent did initially was to entice you to book with the TA was to "share" part of his/her commission with you by the way of OBC but due to the price drops the TA's piece of the pie is smaller so no more OBC.

    My guess :)

  4. So they told me it was def a "glitch" so they can't honor the Early Saver Price Protection. The rep was on with a Supervisor now who said I could cancel my original booking (and lose my $50/pp deposit - $200) and keep the booking that I just reserved for $1000.00 less. Plus I wouldn't get an OBC, they will refund me the difference instead. So, I would be rebooking for the same cabin at $1,000 less fare and receiving a refund check for over $1,000. Sounds great, right???

Well, except the cancellation fee is not $50/00; it is now $1,000 on my original booking because I did the price protection 2 days ago to get the $186.00 OBC. ::smacks head:: When that happened, they switched me to the More = Merrier rate and that increased the cancellation fee to $1,000. Ugh. :(

So I tried arguing that they should still be honoring the price that I was able to reserve and that if someone else was online at the time I was and booked at the lower price they would have to honor it; so they should honor it for me. The supervisor said no, they were already doing me a favor letting me "rebook" at the better rate so they wouldn't drop the cancellation fee. So really there was no point as the cancellation fee would eat up any savings I would get and I would lose the Faster to the Fun.

I told her; while I understood it was a "glitch", I felt they should still do something. After all, I was on hold for over an hour and a half while they "looked into this".

They are sending Champagne and Strawberries to the cabin.

I guess I need to take into perspective that it wasn't a real rate and I am still getting a great rate and going to have a fabulous vacation. Just feeling deflated after all the excitement of the possibility of saving $1,000:(

    I'm tired now...LOL

    Something is wrong there.

I've had multiple agents tell me that once Early Saver, you're always an early saver and you cannot lose that status if you're price matching unless you price matched to a lower type deal like super saver (which doesn't let you select rooms etc)

  5. sailed the triumph many times, always had the aft extended balcony, I like deck 7 the most on that ship and prefer the rooms closer to the center of the ship.

Can't say much for interior except that there's plenty nearby in the aft on deck 7, this puts you halfway between the promenade and lido deck so you can walk up or down 2 floors and be just about anywhere you'd want to be.

How is that balcony during the summer? Is it hot due to being after and less air flow?

  6. I absolutely LOVE dressing up for formal night in the dining room. That's one of the main reasons I cruise. But I'm cruising with my grandfather and his friend, and every time I bring up formal night he snaps back with "I don't do that dressing up," which really hacks me off   . I absolutely cannot miss formal night, the lobster is great and I live in Central Texas so it's extremely hard to get lobster around here. The Triumph has no alternative restaurants that serve lobster, otherwise I would have done that. Does the lido buffet serve lobster on formal night? If not, please help me come up with a way to convince him to eat at formal night!!!

    Easy,

Go solo on formal night, if he can't be bothered to put on a decent pair collared shirt and khaki then he can eat in the buffet.

  7. If you buy Alcohol from the shop onboard during the first leg of the b2b... when do they deliver your alcohol?? At the end of the first leg or at the end of the whole b2b???

From what I've read if your b2b is on the same ship, and you had purchased alcohol on the first leg, it will be delivered the last night of the first leg then you'd have it available for consumption during the 2nd leg.

  8. From my previous sailings when I prepaid tips.

Carnival would "deposit" the tip amount that you had prepaid into your sign and sail on the 2nd day and then they would deduct the full tip on the night before debarkation.

As for the holds, I don't recall carnival putting a hold on my CC unless I had purchased something on the ship that day but I could be wrong.

    Hope that helps.
