  1. I'd recommend you try and dig up their account.

Everyone is assigned a VIFP # when they cruise.

It's best for you to dig up their old # then attach it to their future sailing under the cruise manager. It would save a lot of headaches.

I think there's a way you can look up VIFP # if you know certain details like birthdates etc.

  2. Hmmmm.......I’ve been stalking the website/my account like 10x a day, and still not available for my Breeze March 2019 cruise. I wonder why? This will be my first time back on Carnival since 2007, and I really want to snag it as an anniversary surprise for my hubby, as he HATES embarkation. Once on the ship he’s fine, but he detests long lines, and gets VERY grumpy. [emoji51]

Sent from my iPad using Forums

Odd, it's available for the freedom march 2019 now.

  3.

My offer: an interior room on the Panorama Deck - Forward (Deck 10) for $10 total. It looks closer to the action, but I am worried about seasickness.

    Help!

Make sure you're not under the gym, I had a cabin on deck 10 and was under the treadmill. Never again.

Our walls and ceiling vibrated every day for 7 days exactly @ 6AM in the morning. (There was a heavy runner).

  4. 2 questions if anyone has first hands experience.

We'll be department from our hotel in queens (Maspeth if that helps) to Manhattan cruise port, we'd like to be there by 9 or 9:30am on a Saturday at the latest. What time will we need to depart queens to get there at the desired time. We'll be using uberblack.

Also, will there be porters around the Manhattan cruise port around that time to take your luggage for Carnival Sunshine?

We just want to drop the bags off then go touring.

    Thank you.

  5. Well it will get you to the buffet quicker! On a side note, when in Progreso, do yourself a favor and stay on the ship. Very little to see and tons of merchants that won't stop bothering you. Of course these are my opinions and expect to be bashed by my fellow CC users.

I agree, Progresso is only worth it if you want to go to chichen itza

As for FTTF, it's worth it if you want to arrive on the ship as soon as you are able to board then yes. If you are more leisurely in your boarding time then probably not.

  6. While these frequently do make it through security, these are surge protected, and are not allowed. Whether or not you get it past security, know that even if your Belkin surge protector is in perfect condition, and operating normally, and you are present when it is in use, that an accidental ground anywhere else on the ship, outside of your control, can cause the semi-conductors in the surge protector to go into thermal run-away and cause a fire very quickly. Also, the more times the surge protector is subjected to shipboard wiring (possibility of reverse voltage on the semi-conductors), the quicker the semi-conductors will fail, even in their normal mode, and fail to protect your electronics.

Further, know that none of the ship's electronics, from the POS registers, to the computer servers, to the myriad desktop computers, to the navigation equipment, to the engine room automation that keeps the lights lit and the propellers turning, are protected by surge protectors, as they are not needed. Ships do not experience the voltage surges that affect homes and businesses ashore.

I'm not going to get into an argument in a ship's wiring with you but it's fool hardy to think that everything on a ship is one giant circuit, your house has many circuits, one would think a sophisticated cruise ship is a giant serial circuit?

  7. I started my online check-in tonight and saw that the earliest we can check-in was 2:30. :( If we get there around noon or 1, will they allow us to check-in earlier, or will we just be sitting there waiting to be allowed to check-in? If we can't show up until 2:30, any suggestions as to what to do between when we have to check out of the hotel and before we can board the ship?

Also, right now, we have a balcony cabin on deck 4. It looks like there is a cabin on deck 8, that is available. Would it be worth the extra money (to go from an 8A to an 8E?) How is deck 4, overall?

To be honest with you, after 1:30Pm, the mad crush is over and it's pretty much stroll right into the ship.

This is with a huge caveat that there are no delays of unloading previous cruise.

Example: In our past 5 cruises, we got to the port around 1, by the time we parked etc, and drop off luggage with the porters and strolled right onto the ship 45 min after.
