  1. Well actually no, we weren't given that choice. I specifically asked and the steward said no. He then proceeded to show up sometimes in the morning most times in the evening but never both. As I don't recall you sailing in our cabin, I don't believe you are in a position to contradict my experience. But thanks for your input.

    Wow what was his name?

We are boarding this Saturday. I have read a few mixed review about the dream post dry dock lately and seems like stewards doing twice a day is hit or miss

  2. I can see this, but when most people skirt the system as I plan to do next week on Vista by putting an old gift card in there, it defeats the purpose. I will leave the card in when I leave the cabin if I need things to charge. Actually, my old gift card will remain there for the duration of the cruise, so it will be like not having that system in place at all. Now if the wiring weren't tied to the plugs, then that would be different. Hated it on the Solstice and I will hate it on the Vista.

Wait so if no card is in the slot none of the plugs will work?

  3. It is a forward , as opposed to mid or aft cabin.

I have read slightly conflicting reports regarding the size of the slant balconies -- are some larger than others or are they all much bigger than the standard balcony?

We had a similar cabin this summer.

The balcony was HUGE. I'd highly recommend it.

Wind is not an issue. as soon as you step back from the railing, the wind is gone since it's blocked by the forward partition.

  4. My wife has arthritis and as a result 2 replacement knees.

Each time we came on to the ship she was subjected to a pat down search by the same member of staff.

She found this discriminating and humiliating as she is very shy.

While we appreciate the need for security it was patently obvious that she was not a threat to the security of the ship.

Other passengers that we spoke to found the same problem.

As we had a drink package and the cruise in question was the Norwegian fiords there was very little possibility of smuggling contraband onboard .

There needs to be a better way.

Better technology and/or better staff procedures could lead to a more sensitive and welcoming approach.

I'd recommend in the future ask for guest relations and perhaps her conditions can be made known in private?

A few months ago on our b2b med, we found security to be a bit rough with the ladies, with one guy repeatedly yelling at my wife instead of asking politely, (name tag was covered by his jacket).

I ended up speaking with the concierge and received an apology. Afterward I noticed security's attitude has much improved.
