Flying to Boston Sep 30. Cruise departs Oct 2. Need that Darn covid Ag test on travel day. Impossible to schedule before we leave home due to timing. Considering proctored self test but having technical issues with both phone and laptop (it figures). Looking for a back up reasonable option in the Seaport area for same day results. TIA.

Balcony dude going Inside cabin 1st time

I believe hammocks are prohibited -
Regardless of which family member is in each cabin, parents still need to be accountable for their minor children on board

Balcony dude going Inside cabin 1st time
ober134 replied to havanadaydreaming's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
We do inside almost every cruise. Best sleep ever. We spend so little time in our cabin, why pay more. We've had a balcony a couple times, but realized we spent very little time using preferring to be out and about. For the offer you got I would take in a heartbeat! -
Cheers! Beverage Package medical exemption?
ober134 replied to angelhelly's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
So who would be responsible for verifing claims for medical exemption? More costly paperwork and more overhead expenses the rest of us would have to bear? Maybe if Carnival charged a $200 processing fee, then maybe I would change my thinking on this topic. -
As a fairly neat couple who've learned to pack light and don't bring a lot of excess items..... I've walked the hallways and peeked inside some cabins (don't judge the door was opened) and it looked like a cyclone tore thru there. I could never imagine having a friend - no matter how close share a cabin with me and DH. Likewise I would never impose the same on someone. But everyone travels and cruises differently. Feel bad for the friend but its not your obligation to subsidize his/her vacation. jmho

I'm not a doctor nor do I play one on TV.... But would a Doctor really encourage an alcoholic pregnant person to drink more? Like enough to warrant Cheers smh- 81 replies

I was moved from a 1A to a 7C cabin by Carnival
ober134 replied to sanmarcosman's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
Was the 1A a connecting cabin? Maybe somebody with kids really wanted that option. -
I requested for our January 2023, and the only response I have so far is due to overwhelming number of requests, they are taking far longer than in the past. You will get an email from guest relations when your OBC is issued. I'll wait until a month prior if I don't see it. Note: credits for my November cruise were issued within a few weeks.

As mentioned above, we've sailed most classes and honestly have never had a bad time on any cruise. We first sailed on Paradise when she was a relatively new ship, and boy did we think she was the cats meow back then. She's been on my radar for a few years. We decided to go ahead and book a B2B on her next year after the scheduled dry dock in October 2023. I was surprised to see many categories are sold out or limited already! So she's apparently still a popular ship. Happy cruising!

Following. I like fantasy class ships. But I like others as well. We sailed Elation earlier this year, but also have Horizon and Celebration in the coming months. I looked at Paradise for next year solely for a noon to 6pm stop at Key West. On Elation we had what we needed, great staff, good food and its very navigable. The Paradise doesn't have an Alchemy bar and I would miss that.

Disembarkation - better early or better later?
ober134 replied to BarbieGee's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
Lido is chaotic in my experience. All those ppl and all their luggage. Save yourself and do MDR. Just my opinion -
Cruising from the USA- some help please :)
ober134 replied to DOJO1's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
Early November weather is good and fewer kids. We just booked our first B2B ( bucket list item) for next year, and surprised how much is booked up already. that will include 4 sea days. Without looking I recall Horizon does alternating 6 and 8 day itineraries. -
Disembarkation - better early or better later?
ober134 replied to BarbieGee's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
We usually book mid to late afternoon flights. As such, we don't rush. Out of cabin before "last call" and off to MDR for breakfast.... Breakfast isn't exactly leisurely, cuz they try to start clearing the ship at 9:30. At that point, can walk right off and not much wait for taxi or uber. -
Serenity bar menu has some Lite options. Skinny Fizz is a favorite of mine.

Luggage Question with an Arrival Time 1:30 - 2:00

Porter service will likely not be available. You will have to self carry on. Good news is that cabins should be ready for you once you board -
****CARNIVAL COVID TESTING THREAD #3 -‐- JULY 21, 2022***
ober134 replied to Host Carolyn's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
on point experience? We are doing NE/Canada. Fully vaxxed/boosted. Will be flying on testing day, but should have time early before leaving home. No where on there website does it explain the type of video connection needed. Do they provide a link? Doable by phone? -
Anyone know what upgrades are happening October 2023? I hope they are adding Alchemy.

Its a tough call. Would Carnival risk negative PR calling out a service dog vs. a support animal? I'm pretty sure those certificates can be purchased on-line, just like a marriage officiant. Also, why would Carnival risk an animal bite or a passenger who has allergies? Whatever the case, no animal should be permitted to freely roam around or be sitting at a bar.

Last cruised Paradise back in the late '90's when she was a non-smoking ship. Does anyone remember that? I've always liked those fantasy class ships. I've been looking at Paradise itineraries for 2023 or 2024. Thanks for the review.

Yep... Port fee adjustment. When pre paying, cruise lines base the charges on an estimated passenger count. When final boarding is done, the estimated is converted to actual. We've had this on multiple sailings.
