  1. Thanks! I am flying into HOU Hobby so I am not sure if you did or not. But they seem reasonable for a almost 40 mile ride from HOU.

I liked the fact that no peddlers were bugging me! I am booked again for next Feb.

In March they did at the end bring an itemized bill showing the "value" of your included food and drinks. They are hoping you will tip based on this. Our guys took good care of us and we each gave 20 dollars for a total of $40 for the day. We did keep them busy with the drinks 😉 .
  4. How did that work out? I have booked them for January.
  5. Sounds good to me. I am definitely not knocking this new location. I love places where I don't have to go anywhere to be harassed relentlessly to buy stuff. A chair and some shade with the ability to buy a few drinks is all I need. I am certain Celebration Key will be good for me. I have tried to make it to HMC 3 times without success yet. Two COVID cancelled cruises and then the big tease we pulled close to HMC and the conditions were too rough to tender. So this trip in Nov 2025 has both these ports plus Grand Turk and Amber cove. It should be good! And on a Spirit class ship. 😁
  6. The message I got is that it is out of my willingness to purchase price range, but as some wise sage once said out here choices are good 😉 . At HMC the expensive Oasis gets you drinks and a private chef which is kind of nice.
  7. I looked at the excursions listed for my Nov 2025 trip and it looks like a gold mine for Carnival. Even the 2,000 dollar units don't come with alcoholic drinks.
  8. Miracle will be sailing out of Tampa from Nov 2025 to April 2026 so it is your chance from east coast at least for a 6 month spell.
  9. In May on the Spirit it was $12.25 plus gratuity so a total of about $14.45. That is my free drink of choice also. The fruity drinks don't really seem to have any alcohol to me so it is a no go.
  10. From your recent trip report it appears the Carnival slots are tighter than a drum. Good luck!
  11. My link may not work for you. Search for BofA customized cash rewards Visa.
  12. https://secure.bankofamerica.com/apply-credit-cards/public/icai-single/#/info/
  13. If you use Bank of America their customized cash rewards visa works well. You can get a 200 dollar bonus after spending $1000 in the first 90 days. You get 3 percent off of the category you choose. I have mine set for online purchases so I get 3 percent off 2500 dollars for each quarter. I buy the AARP gift cards for 10 percent off plus the additional 3 percent off for being an online purchase for a total off of 13 percent for my cruises and onboard spending.
  14. Just don't buy a soda first, unless that is what you want for your free beverage 😉 . I'm going straight for my Long Island!
  15. You are correct, the verbiage has been removed from the cruise ticket contract. The only mention now is on the boarding documents.
  16. Unfortunately headsets don't stop people from blocking walkways while yelling twice as loud as normal trying to communicate while saying they can't hear the other party.
  17. Must be a dying breed. I have had none on Miracle, Pride, Panorama, and Splendor in modern times. The Spirit still has them every day for now because they have not replaced the cheap vinyl/plastic table tops. I am sure they will remedy that at the next dry dock in February and have none also.
  18. What ship is this on? I haven't seen table cloth even on elegant night in few years.
  19. It was a secret, just like the interior promenade the enchanted forest. Only Spirit now has the hot tub up front, but it surely will be gone next dry dock at the end of January 2025.
  20. The Queen Mary maiden voyage was in 1936. Hope springs eternal.
  21. I am good up to Vista class. But I want Carnival to keep the Spirit class another 10 years so we can grow long in the tooth together! I will pass and say no thanks to the new and future giants of the sea.
  22. That will depend on just how "brilliant" the new changes are 😉
  23. You are correct, no gambling required, but the offers will dry up in a NY minute if that were to happen for any length of time. And just maybe after all the casino offers to get people back to cruising worked so well that Carnival has learned that it is a big money maker. When casino offers no longer help Carnival's bottom line they will dry up. So far there doesn't seem to be any signs that casino offers are on their way out.
