The Viking Star currently doesn’t have Beefeater Gin in the PV’s according to friends, currently on board…..and Kent and Pam know I am at a Beefeater girl🍸The good news IS, we board in LA on February 14th, and I will take my own😎😎

Is it possible to post the pictures of the Senior Officers? We had friends on board that just got off today, who posted the last “board” of pictures…..just wanted to see if there were any changes.

Did someone say that Verity is the cruise director on board the Star right now? We are boarding in February and we think she is the best of the best!

Thank you for sharing this detailed and fair explanation of your time spent in Buenos Aires, post cruise. Hopefully this isn't the normal experience for Viking.

We had the “slider” on our last cruise, in a PV. We spend a lot of time on the lanai. We couldn’t keep the slider closed as it just rolled back and forth. Obviously, from the outside, you can’t lock the door. The crew didn’t have a stick for us, so we had to move the outside table against the window, to block the sliding. BUT…..every time one of us went inside, hubby had to move the table and then move it back. Our next four cruises we’ve booked the door. I understand both sides.

We used Luggage Forward, last December. They shipped our 2 suitcases from Pismo Beach and they were in our stateroom in Barcelona, when we arrived. The only comment I would make is that we were told our luggage would be picked up from our home between 11:00am and 2:00pm. I can’t remember if it was Fed X or UPS but they arrived at 7:00AM. Luckily we are early risers and we were ready for them and this is not Luggage Forwards problem ….. just an FYI. The cost was $750 for the one way trip. With the all of the airline “issues” it was nice to change planes twice with only one carry on, each. Also, as we were boarding at the pier in Barcelona I asked the luggage department if they had ever had a problem with Luggage Forward and the answer was “never.” We are sailing out of Barcelona on November 15th and will DEFINITELY use them for this trip. I hope this helps with your decision.

We love the Marriott, Le meridian which is right on Las Ramblas. The rooms are beautiful and the restaurant excellent!

Kent - We had Verity on our last Viking cruise and she is TERRIFIC! .....AND......with Russell Lee and his wife on board, you will have the perfect combo team. Ed and I wish we were with you. Candy

Heidi13-We also, are more than sad to hear this news. Every post you’ve made, has been to help all of us navigate Viking Cruises in a positive way. I am going to hope and pray for a resolution and a come-back….

I know this thread is about smoking. Sorry I added my comments about Viking. As far as smoking on Viking, there is a tiny area on one of the top decks , outside, where smokers can be.

My husband and I had 17 cruises with Crystal, before their bankruptcy. We loved every one of them. We switched to Viking, after their demise. We feel Viking Ocean is every bit as good as Crystal and even though we will “try” Crystal again, we are very happy with Viking.

We love The Marriott…..great location!
