Sure is a lot of restaurants around that hotel, on their web site though doesn't have any of my dates listed yet. I guess to far out. Will have to check again later. Do you remember about what you paid per night. We will need a room for 3 though, I'm sure they will charge additional for the 3rd person.

We have no problem walking some, I guess that will also depend on the weather that time of year. We will be there the last week of May.

That is correct, just counting large cruise ships leaving from Amsterdam. As we all know port calls can easily be canceled and really doesn't effect passengers onboard an incoming ship.

I just checked for all 2024, most sailing from there are River Cruises on small vessels. Jan, Feb, March, Apr Large ships 0 sailings May- Large Ships 4 sailings June " 7 sailings July " 7 sailings August " 4 sailings Sept " 0 sailings October " 2 sailings November " 1 sailing December " 1 sailing So to pull out all the Large Cruise Ships from Amsterdam really wouldn't take to much to switch them all over to Rotterdam. Would be interesting to check this again at the end of this year and just see how many switch over to Rotterdam.

I think right now we can only stay 2 nights in Amsterdam before our first cruise, we know we want to spend 3 nights in Rome after the end of our second cruise. So in Amsterdam right now we are looking at the Movenpick and WestCord City Centre Hotel Amsterdam For the 2 nights cost is about $850 for the 3 of us. For those that have been in Amsterdam, do you think the WestCord is in a better location then the Movenpick ? Ambassade seems to require a 3 night stay and a lot more expensive, Doubletree like Movenpick seem to be far from the center city.

Is the Dam Square location a good area to be near when finding a hotel in Amsterdam?

The holes on the end are puzzling, I believe they held that banana down with a fork like it was going to get away and then sliced it.

Maybe the issue is trying to book with 3 persons, bringing our Son along on this trip. Trying to book us all in the same room to save some $$$ Maybe they don't have 3 person rooms in this hotel? Any other good hotels in a great area anyone else would recommend?

Just checked dates for us at that hotel check in , May 28 and check out May 30 and says date May 29 is check out only, no idea what that means?

Our cruise ends in Civitavecchia Cruise Port so we will probably be flying home from Leonardo da Vinci International Airport (Rome) after a couple days post cruise in Rome.

It's only a 2 1/2 hour direct flight.............Economy is $186 and Business is $1031....way to much for Business Class on such a short flight. How many bags can you bring and what is the cost of bags on KLM ?

Our cruise is just before you in June 2024, We are going to fly into Amsterdam, no matter where the cruise sails from.

@terrydtx Why would you worry about flights or hotel rooms anyway, the 2 cities are only like 30 to 45 minutes apart. Just use local transportation to get you from one port or the other. Just fly into which ever city you want.

Not true this Cruise Critic Member all ready had there cruise moved from Amsterdam to Rotterdam, just a couple weeks ago. If Celebrity is all ready moving ships from Amsterdam, seems it wouldn't be long before Royal starts to do it. (not several years either )

What airline did you use from Amsterdam to get to Barcelona? That is the only possible flight we want to book now, our Son from NJ is going with us and not sure if he is flying out from here in Virginia with us or if he is flying out from NJ/NY or Philadelphia to meet us in Amsterdam

We are doing a B2B on 2 different cruiselines......So after the cruise ends in either Amsterdam or Rotterdam we would still be flying from Amsterdam to Barcelona no matter where our Royal Caribbean Ship cruises from.......... One way Air tickets are $156 per person from Amsterdam and $1625 from Rotterdam to Barcelona.(2 1/2 hours one way flight) The 2 cities are only 1 hour from each other. We will get some kind of transportation back to Amsterdam to save the money.

Care to share that article about Amsterdam closing their cruise terminal, we have a cruise booked out of there the end of May 2024. That would sure put a damper on our plans for Europe next year.
