If the three of you are traveling in the same room, and assuming you aren't afraid of catching each other's cooties by placing your clothes together in the same bag, why not just combine your laundry and use your Sapphire coupons to cover the laundry costs for all?  You may only receive one laundry coupon per stateroom, but if there are two Sapphire members in the room you each are entitled to a free bag of laundry.  Simply write "Sapphire Latitudes - FREE" on the laundry ticket and you should not see a charge on your account.

Because we do a bag each, every cruise so we can do carry on only.

  2. Is the $29 "Fill the Bag Special" considered "retail price" for the day its offered, thus costing a Gold member $14.50?  Or does the Gold member merely get 50% off specific items based on the listing of prices?  Two of us are Sapphire so we each get a bag free, but would be nice if our 3rd traveler could also get a bag for just $14.50 (although $30 isnt that crazy insane).  It seems like a Gold member would spend more at 50% off each item than if they just paid the $29 for fill the bag.

Laundry - Gold, Platinum, Sapphire, Diamond & Ambassador

The amount of the bulk bag laundry service discount is determined by the Latitudes tier level of the guest claiming the benefit: Gold members receive fifty (50%) percent off of retail price of bulk bag laundry service, and Platinum, Sapphire, Diamond, and Ambassador members receive one (1) bag bulk bag laundry service at no cost.

this, hands down.  its at Ocean Blue.   if they still have it, teh chocolate napoleon thingy at LeBistro is very good, and i still lament about the Oreo Cheesecake at Cagneys being discontinued.....

  4. first time we went to alaska, it poured every day except the day we had Glacier Bay (taht was a blessing!).  while we had all the right gear in terms of raincoats, hood, gloves, et.  we only had sneakers and our feet were wet and cold the whole time.  we did at least bring 2 pair so we always started out dry, but we made the most of it.

second tiem we still didnt bring rain boots but lucked out with weather.  lol

  5. omg i would NOT let NCL arrange your airfare.  too many horror stories (look thru these threads).    we always pass on this free "perk" and prefer control over our flights.

breakaway usually has better service overall for some reason.  also, we have stayed in the Haven on both (as well as regular rooms on both) and the Haven is nicer on breakaway as it has the retractable roof whereas Getaway there is no roof so if its rainy you cant use the courtyard area.

  6. Canaveral is a pain only because you are about an hour from the airport to the cruise port.  also, if you are looking to go during February or April school vacation weeks here in the US, flights to/from FL will be very expensive and MCO will be very busy.

we love Breakaway, only sailed Escape once and it was in the Haven (which is a great Haven) but as a result we didnt see/use many areas of the ship as we tend to hole up in the Haven when we have it, save for the nighttime entertainment.  Breakaway is essentially the same as Getaway, but i like it better than Getaway.
