  1. Oops. Sorry I said the wrong names. Travelcat2 is correct.

Oh I am talking about the Navigator.

Did not care much for the Diamond when it was in the fleet but

that was the way it was arranged and difficult to get around,

not the way it sailed or had any vibration problems.

Also liked the Paul Gauguin when it was in the fleet. Course

being in the French Polynesian waters it could have been a row boat

and we would have been happy since we could not believe we were there.

Really like the Voyager and Mariner and looking forward to

    sailing on the Explorer.

  2. We have been fortunate to have sailed on the Regent ships.

Voyager, Paul Gauguin, Diamond, Mariner 6 times, Navigator, and March 2017 Explorer.

Had cabin 625 on Navigator and very little vibrations. That said just about everywhere

else on the ship was very noticeable. Horizon lounge was awful. Bottles behind the bar banging into each other. Drink glass moves while sitting at the bar are examples.

Only thing we liked about the ship was the constellation theater which was very comfortable. Needless to say we do not have any plans to sail on that ship again.

  3. Seamefirst:

Sorry that your 1st experience doing a Regent cruise was on the Navigator.

Been fortunate to cruised on Voyager, Mariner, Diamond, Paul Gauguin, Navigator, and in 2017 Explorer. Course Diamond and Paul Gauguin are no longer in the Regent fleet.

Because of itineraries we liked, the Mariner is the ship we have been on the most,

but say we like it and the Voyager about equal. That said we did one cruise on the Navigator

    and will not do another.

Wish you would reconsider and give Regent another try on Voyager, Mariner, or Explorer.

Think you may have a way different positive attitude after doing that.

  4. Saw pictures of where the bombing took place.

In 2013 we spent 3 days before our Mariner Istanbul to Rome cruise in this area.

Stayed at a hotel close by. Walked in this area many times during the 3 days.

    Very disturbing.

  5. We received an upgrade on the Mariner when we did the 1st segment Amazon cruise.

Turns out it was right below La Veranda and across from our cabin door was where the

employees would come in and out all night long.

The door slamming all night long and moving chairs early mornings got old quickly.

Will stick to lower cabins from now on.

  6. We are cruising on the Mariner, Rome to Fort Lauderdale 11/20/2011

and decided to use Regent Air so we could upgrade to business class

    going over to Rome.

We fly out of Billings Montana.

It is not a Gateway City so $100 there.

It is not a secondary gate way city so $199 there.

So it cost us an extra $299 per person along with the $999 upgrade.

$1,298.00 is still very reasonable for us to fly business class over and economy

back. It was almost $3,800.00 per person to book it on our own and that also was economy on return flight.

Plus booking with Regent air they will pick you up at the airport and take you to the hotel or ship depending upon your arrival. And they will also get you from the ship to the airport

    in Fort Lauderdale.
